There were two videos that got blocked. Frostfire Ridge Finale and Talador Finale. Not sure why as other RU-vidrs have them uploaded. The previous Lords of War also had one vid flagged. Although all that one did was just demonetize the video so we were still able to show the reaction.

That's so dumb. Frostfire is not significant but still good. Talador is pretty awesome though. But sounds like you watched them at least so that's good enough I suppose. You don't mention the early cutscenes though. There are some more showing the "storming of the dark portal". The whole start of the expansion is us fending off the orcs on Azeroth, heading through the portal and destroying it. There are cutscenes for the latter. Not significant now I guess. But still.

Answer to your questions: That giant dude was one of Sargeras' lieutenants, you meet him in warcraft 3, Archimonde is his name. He is from the same race as Maraad and this universe's prophet Velen(The guy that sacrificed itself) The raven guy, is that guy's from warcraft 3 disciple(Medivh), this one's name being Khadgar. You'll see more of him soon. There was also one cinematic about Maraad's fate from warlords of draenor, but I don't think that your playlist had it.+another one about Durotan and his brother Fun fact 1: Years later. Yrel, that draenei lady from the end will become obsessed with the light and give the orcs a choice: serve the light or die. There won't be a cinematic about that saddly. Fun fact 2: Ner'zhul, the one that summon the dark star thinghy for which the prophet sacrificed, in our timeline is the spirit in the helm of the Lich King, the one that controled Arthas Great work by the way! ^^

Spoiler warning! Ner'zhul wasn't the one controlling Arthas... Khadgar is the apprentice of Medivh and both characters are in the Theater Movie that came out in 2016. Gul'dan didn't go back on his deal, he failed the deal. The deal was to conquer Draenor and Azeroth, which is what you kinda see in the Theater Movie - where he actually conquers Draenor and fails to conquer Azeroth. The events in this cinematic are after, where Gorrosh goes back in time to stop his father to drinking the demons blood(yep, the green stuff was blood).

Cinematically, when Grom jumps through the fire and lands the axe on Mannoroths head, its a throw back to Warcraft 3, the flames start exploding and he just staggers backwards and dies in WC3 but Garrosh dives and saves him in this cinematic. I got super giddy when I saw this for the first time.

So if you guys remember when you watched the Warcraft cinematics, the first cinematic you watched in this video is basically a change in the timeline, the orc with the torch that screamed now is the son of the orc with the axe. He went back in time to stop his people from and father from drinking the demon blood and then recruited the whole planets orcs (except the frost wolves) to conquer the present day Azeroth (the world with the humans) that’s why it said 35 years ago because, years ago on dreanor the planet of the orcs they drank the demon blood and went to conquer the humans planet. Now the only reason he’s stopping them from drinking it and conquering the planet anyway is for 2 reasons. 1- if they don’t drink the blood they won’t become controlled by the demons so they can conquer the planet on their own terms 2- the reason why they are conquering anyway is because the torch wielding orc wants to fight the demons so he thinks by conquering both planets and building a big enough army he can but at the same time he’s kind of a villain going at it by force. Also the fight between the brown orc and green orc with red beads. The brown orc garrosh is from the green orcs timeline except he isn’t corrupted with demon blood like thrall then green orc. So the thing is Thrall used to lead the orcs back on Azeroth, he tried to make peace but through events and bad choices he left to go become essentially a monk leaving the orcs and the horde (their faction) weak. Garrosh was appointed chief to lead but he had issues because of the low food count, people count and they lived in a desert. Anyways garrosh invaded pandaria the panda home for resources, through evens he becomes kinda evil and hell bent on achieving the orc dream of ruling. So he goes back in time and meets his father and stops him from drinking the demon blood saving the orcs from becoming green. The reason garrosh and thrall fight is because now garrosh is leading these orcs into the present timeline to conquer. And thrall steps in to stop it but after this fight thrall realizes it’s his fault everything happened because he wasn’t there to guide garrosh who by orc standards is a youngish adult and not a wise old man.

Here's kinda the stuff that you wanted more detail on: The white haired mage dude is Khadgar, and he was an apprentice to Medivh (from the Warcraft III stuff you watched; Medivh was one of the most powerful mages in the world), and Khadgar was our main "point man" going into Warlords of Draenor. He's a really funny dude and a fantastic mage. You'll see a lot more of him in the Legion stuff. The White haired alien man you saw turn into light was the Prophet Velen, the leader of the Draenei people - but this wasn't OUR Velen, this was the Velen from THIS altered timeline. He sacrificed himself to change that crystal looking thing from bad to good, and passed leadership of the alternate draenei people to Yrel (the female, no relation just a pupil). The big scary looking dude at the end was Archimonde, and he is one of the big leaders of the demons that Gul'dan served. Basically the Draenei people used to be one whole faction, but Archimonde and another leader Kil'jaeden split off from Velen and joined the demon Legion. Velen and his people have been on the run since. You'll get more context to their story in Legion. The pact Gul'dan made was that he was given incredible demonic power, but promised the orcs people to the Legion. When Archimonde was defeated, he forced Gul'dan to our world of Azeroth so that Gul'dan could open the way for the Legion to invade our planet (which was the goal of the demons in the first place, they wanted the orcs in order to invade).

The big guy at the end was a Demon Lord named Archimonde. The guy with the long white beard who turned himself into light is named Vellen. The girl he bestowed his mark to is named Yrel. The old guy who turns into a raven is named Kadgar. Archimonde, Vellen and Yrel are all the same race (Eredar). Long ago, a Titan (basically a god) made a deal with Archimonde, and most of the Eredar, granting them power and would lead the Burning Legion. Vellen and a smaller group of Eredar saw the deal as becoming corrupted and enslaved to this Titan. They left their homeworld and would later call themselves Draenei. Yrell is relatively young, so she never saw their homeworld. Kadgar is a mage who was the apprentice of the guy (Medivh) you saw in the WC3 cinematics. Some other things to note that aren't explained in the cinematics, but are known to the players. The liquid that was being offered ( 1:51 ) is actually demon blood, from the demon we see ( 2:47 ). His name is Mannaroth. To help make sense of Gul'dan's line (4:28) "This was not our destiny." Originally, most of the orcs (except for one clan) drank the blood. That, and the constant exposure to Fel magic over years, is why the Orcs turned green before they came to Azeroth. The orc at 4:34 is named Garrosh, and was never there in the original timeline. What are seeing are events where Garrosh went back in time and altered things, creating a separate timeline. 7:25 what's happening here. That is called a Naaru. They're beings made of pure light. When they die, they become a Dark Naaru. Vellen basically sacrificed himself, giving his life and all his power with the light to "re-ignite" the Naaru. I'm sorry if i made anything more confusing, or if I'm stating things you already know. I hope this helped though. I'm also so very glad you're enjoying the Warcraft content you're watching.

I know it'd late but I'm so into your series and want to help. Gul'dan made a pact with the legion for his own power, and he is basically the prelude to the end of the world. The Legion's crusade is to kill worlds to save the universe (will of a crazy corrupted diety and jailor of the demons across the universe who now uses them to do his will, there is a lot to unpack there. The diety name is Sargeras) The big blue guy is Archimond, general of the Legion. Before that, he was the same status as the white hair squid faced guy Velen. There was another that you know by now is Kil'Jaeden. They accepted power and became demons, and doomed their world, a different world than Draenor, called Argus. That gets tackled in Legion. Khadgar is the human mage, the same as the mage, Medhiv, who transformed into the raven in the Warcraft 3 cinematic, khadgar is his successor, also his murderer because Medhiv was possessed by Sargeras himself. That's all I can remember as of questions. There are unfortunately a lot of holes in the story that are unavoidable if you don't play the game (and even still if you do play, books and outside storylines not expressed in the game), Story wasn't the primary focus when wow started, and it kind of shows now that they are focusing more on it. Not so brief summary. As you already know, Warlords of Dreanor are on an alternative time line, one where Garrosh escaped to from our reality. What you saw here are events from this Warcraft 3 cinematic which you have seen already: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b-YMR6l7h4g.html&ab_channel=xLetalis that got changed when time lines got changed. What happaned, is Garrosh (main villain of Mists of Pandaria) escaped from his trial to this reality, where he met his father, GRommash Hellscream. Grommash back in the day, drank Mannoroth's blood (the big demon) and got empowered and corrupted by it. After corruption got broken Grommash gave his life to kill Mannoroth in original time line. Here Garrosh got in touch with his father, and proved to him his identity, not only that, but he informed his father of what will happen if Garrosh accepts the power, so instead of drinking the blood, they instead prepared ambush and slaughtered Mannoroth. At the end, you saw Garrosh save Grommash from explosion, which he knew was coming because he knew that was how his father originaly died. At the very end of 1st video, you can see Dark Portal being constructed, an object which orcs used to invade Azeroth (main planet) in original time line. Later on, teamed forces of Aliance and Horde, defeated the Iron Horde, and brought new order in the process. On top of that, Thrall fought Garrosh in Mak'Gora, a honorable duel, which he won... by cheating, usage of magic is forbidden in the duel. Thrall used element magic and lost his honor, as result elements turned against him, and he lost his powers. 6:23 Here you could see Ner'Zhul, an orc Warlock, that in original time line got turned into the 1st Lich King. Although here his role is not as great, but he still did some horrendous acts. For example the "Fallen Star" is Naaru - a primordial beeing who was born by merging near infinite numbers of elementals togather to give birth to a greater being. Naaru are beings of pure light, they are the source of power to Paladins, Priests etc, as well as gods to majority of the Alliance. When Naaru dies, they turn into their absolute opposite, beings of pure darkness and evil. What you saw next, was Velen, one of the oldest and most powerful Draenai to ever live, sacrifice himself to bring Naaru back to his light side. (Although that does not really matter since it was a Warolrds of Draenor time line Velen, not original one) Next I will briefly touch Legion backstory since some of the action here already stepped into it. The Burning Legion, the greatest force in the universe, whose one purpose is to purge all life. Originally they were fought against by Titans, incredibly powerful creatures that brought creation to the universe and who as babies are asleep in form of planets (not all planets are titans, in fact extremely few are. But Azeroth, main planet of the story is one, not only that but she is also considered to be a Titan with greatest potential of them all.) Original goal of all Titans was to seek and awaken other titans scattered in the universe. Sargeras, the greatest warrior among Titans, fought Legion for thousands of years, until eventually he realized, they could be communicated with. Upon doing so, he found out the terrifying truth. Beyond this universe, there are beings of far greater power, called Void Lords. Their power is infinite, but they can not access physical world, instead they can merely launch fraction of their power onto the universe randomly hoping to corrupt sleeping Titans, who in the future would allow them to enter physical world. Upon finding out the truth, Sargeras slaughter sleeping Titans, whom he saw Void Lord energy on, and tried to prove to other Titans that purging the universe is the only way. Others horrified by murder of their sleeping brother, could not believe Sargeras, nor could they understand why he killed one of them. Upon realizing there is no coming to an agreement, Sargeras fought all other Titans, and killed them all. Then he joined Burning Legion, and led it on the way to purge all life from the universe. Next, we come back to Draenor. Where 3 Draenai brothers were offered power and their lives, in return for servitude. Archimonde and Kil'Jaden took the offer, and became generals to the Burning Legion, while Velen refused the offer, and chased by corrupted brothers took all Draenai loyal to him, and escaped the planet. (Archimonde is the massive Demon who appeared at 14:50, as well as the one, who got killed in Warcraft 3 by sacrificing elven immortality, Demons in this universe upon death return to their home, Twisting Nether, where they slowly come back to life, thats why if you want to kill a Demon, you have to do it in Twisting Nether) Hope it was not too complex, grasping content of Legion is not an easy task to grasp, but with what I wrote above, you should be about ready to move on to Legion cinematics! Enjoy.

So at the end of the panda expansion Garrosh is imprisoned and being held for trial, with the help of a bronze dragon (a time dragon because a dragons color determines their abilities) he is able to escape and travel back into time before the orcs made their way onto Azeroth. He then informs his father the guy they call Hellscream that drinking the demon blood is bad (even though that's kinda obvious). All the orcs unite under one banner besides the frostwolves and begin their conquest on Azeroth. Gul'Dan is working for a comic entity that is hell bent on pretty much converting every willing race into demons and destroying all others that resist, drinking the demon blood would have added the orcs to his ranks. Velen (the draenei that stepped into the light) is pretty much the leader of all the other draenei with a strong connection to the light and he sacrifices himself to help his people. The big draenei we see towards the end is Archimonde and he has been corrupted by the same entity Gul'Dan follows, the pact he mentions is pretty much Gul'Dan was tasked with enslaving the orcs to the bad guy he follows.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It's best to read the book 'Warcrimes' which is a pre-Warlords of Draenor story that tells the trial that Garrosh is in within Pandaria and of course the plot to get him free where he flee's to this alternative universe to do just what he did in the cinematic. These time jumps with cinematics do get a bit confusing without the other reading work as there's a lot of lore within said novels. There's another good one during MoP that set more of what Garrosh did against Vol'Jin and then there's the whole Cataclysm books to show off how he started down the path that he did once he became Warchief. A few funfacts about the people within the launch trailer: Grom Hellscream, was only 23 when this happened in-universe. That also marks him as the youngest Orc Chieftain in the history of both his clan - and his race! The large demon, with the wings, has seen this all play out before. This all happened in an alternate timeline to the main story, however demons such as he transcend timelines. (Confusing, I know. It's- hard for us to parse too.) Effectively, that demon is the exact same demon that corrupted the Orcs in the same way (That green stuff was his blood.) in the main timeline. He didn't expect them to rebel, hence you see the occasional look of surprise on his face. The orc at the end that says "Times Change." was the son of Grom from our timeline. Imagine what it must be like to fight alongside your famous warrior Father in his prime! Bonus funfact about the Hellscream family: That axe you see wielded by Grom in the cinematic - and later by Garrosh in the duel with Thrall - is enchanted. (So to speak.) Long ago - long before Grom's birth - an ancestor of his killed 6 of the strongest beings on Draenor - and infused the axe (Gorehowl, as it's called) with their hearts. This bolsters it's users strength. I hope that sheds new light onto both of those Hellscream boys. :)

Thanks for sharing! Like I said before, this xpac is a mess. The feather guy, is the apprentice of the guy from Warcraft 3. He's been in the background since Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal in 1996 and was one of the "one of these days x character will come back!" long awaited returning characters. He has been used a lot as a neutral party, neither Horde nor Alliance in the last couple of expansions so that they only have to write one lot of dialogue. A lot of this expansion relies on the player understanding older lore, which is why there was such a push in the background videos. Originally Hellscream DID drink the demon blood, as did the rest of the Orcs, creating the evil demonic orcish invaders of Warcraft 1 and 2, brought to Azeroth by a possessed mage through the Dark Portal (long story). So when Gul'dan says "this was not to be your destiny" it's a wink to the audience - this is not how the history happened. Garrosh saying "times change" and the early horde having high-tech engineering shows that Garrosh has brought modern (Warcraft modern, anyway) weapons-tech to the old Horde. creating the Iron Horde. The giant guy is Archimonde, one of the powerful demons from the Burning Legion, warcraft's Big Bads - a big race of demonic invaders, also seen in Warcraft 3 - he was the guy who destroyed the city with a spell, and got blown up by fairy lights whilst fondling a big tree tree. He is the same species as Yrel and Muraad, but full of demony goodness. Hellscream's "redemption" made absolutely no sense in-game. There was so much cut content that we literally went from all out war to that cutscene, like "wellp, you lost, I guess that means you're no longer a war criminal!". Because there was so little mid-game content, the Iron Horde seemed to be a total damp squib, too, as they went from that initial attack on Azeroth to... basically nothing. Whisky Warbringers sound tasty! I recommend a horn of Lyme Bay mead for future viewing pleasure.

most of your questions will be answered in Legion cinematics but you need to see them all. You missed like 3 cinematics here. Maraad the blue guy who wanted to redeem himself died so that's why the blue lady Yrel has the same hammer because it's his hammer. The guy who turned to raven is Khadgar and he was an apprentice to the guy from warcraft 3 cinematics Medivh. The big blue dude at the end was demon lord Archimonde. Most of the Draenei the blue goat people are now demons and they are basically leading the demon army called the burning legion. You can totally forget about the guy who sacrificed himself to purify the dark star because he was from an alternate universe timeline and our current version is all alive and well and will play a big role in next expansion

The pact that Gul'dan made was to sell the entire Orcish people's souls to the Burning Legion (Who are demons of the warcraft universe) by making them drink the blood of mannoroth (the demon they kill in the cinematic) and he succeeds at doing that in the main timeline which leads to the invasion of Azeroth and is the reason Orcs get to the world of Humans from Draenor at first place, what you see in Warlords of Draenor is an alternate timeline in which Garrosh (the beefy bad guy from Mists of Pandaria) goes back in time and tells his dad (Grommash) about Gul'dan and how he wants to enslave all of the Orcs to the demons, so they stop it from happening in this timeline by using some new Goblin tech and make the Iron Horde. And then the rest of the stuff that you saw in the cinematics happen. And no the giant demon at the end is Archimonde, he is different from Velen (the bearded one who cleanses the Naaru and sacrifices himself) they were close friends and used to rule over the planet of Argus together alongside Kil'jaeden, (Argus is the homeworld of the blue people, the Draenei, like Maraad.) But Archimonde and Kil'jaeden accept a demonic pact from Sargeras (The Big Bad Devil of Warcraft Universe) which turns them into these massive demon lords but Velen runs away alongside Maraad and the rest of the Draenei who didn't want to get corrupted by demons. The guy at the end is Khadgar, He was Medivh's apprentice and the guy you've seen in Warcraft 3 cinematics is Medivh. Khadgar was his apprentice and uses his staff which gives him the ability to turn into a raven like Medivh did. Medivh before Warcraft 3 was actually evil and Khadgar kills him himself because he is the person who summons Gul'dan and the demon corrupted Orcs to Azeroth at first place, the Medivh you saw in Warcraft 3 cinematics is actually his ghost, who seeks redemption by warning other people. But no Khadgar is not the same person as him, though he is a really interesting character you will learn more about him in the Harbingers cinematics if you check those out next!

A bit late for info here: Khadgar is one of the absolute OGs of Warcraft. He fought during the First War as a young man (which is covered in Warcraft 1 from the early 90s), and then he was a major character in the Second War (ie. Warcraft 2) where he invaded the orcs' homeworld of Draenor after pushing them out of Azeroth, where he did the absolute baller move of closing the gate FROM THE OTHER SIDE, saving Azeroth as Draenor basically tore itself to shreds because of all the demon energies there. No one knew what happened to him (though he and his forces were definitely presumed dead) until World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade (the one you watched as part 1 of your journey, where Illidan tells you "you're not prepared!"), where the people from Azeroth travel back into the broken Draenor (now called Outland), and find that the absolute badass has been surviving for like 30-odd years with a small group of hardened veterans and also befriending some natives of Outland (corrupted Draenei called Broken). Then, after Illidan was defeated in Outland, Khadgar appears to have gone back to Azeroth, to help out people, and he helps out during Warlords of Draenor mainly, because he's experienced in fighting both orcs and the Legion. THEN he also gets an important role in the Legion expansion, which is the next one.

Man, I'd forgotten about some of this stuff. Good expansion! Instead of writing overly long, detailed answers to the few questions you had, as I'm sure plenty of others in the comments will, I'll just say that I'm really glad you guys are enjoying this series! Legion for me was probably my favorite expansion I've played, had some BEAUTIFUL cinematics and a lot of the regions we explore in the game are really cool. Next thing to start with should be the Harbingers set of shorts, in the same vein and tradition as the Burdens of Shaohao and the Lords of War series. You'll get some more background on Khadgar (the older mage who turned into a bird at that one point) as well as Gul'dan (who I think is an incredibly cool character). Couple others too, I think? I don't remember super well who else had Harbingers shorts, but those two stood out a lot to me. There are a LOT of cinematics in Legion, both to do with the current events of the world and also to fill in some exposition and backstory for some of our other important characters (namely a certain blind, bat-winged, horned beast of a Night Elf demon hunter who may or may not have been featured in the last cinematic with Gul'dan and ALL the Legion promo art lol). Looking forward to the next few entries in this series of videos, probably most of all honestly. While all the content is great, I feel like these last two expansions (Legion and Battle for Azeroth) have some of the BEST cutscenes and cinematics in the whole game. This whole thing is giving me serious nostalgia and making me want to subscribe back to WoW and revisit some of my old stomping grounds lol (can't though, my PC is an absolute potato and would never run it these days lol.).

This video skipped the best cinematic in the expansion! So the blue alien got lady was Yrel the main character of the Alliances progression. She went from a civilian you rescue in the intro to being blessed by Velen when he sacrificed himself and getting Maraad's hammer when he sacrificed himself. She was supposed to have a more complete story, but they scrapped a mid expansion patch that just left her hangin so all of a sudden she comes back at the end as the Uber paladin. As the player in a later expansion you can unlock the draenor orcs as a playable race. Well they show that time on Draenor has moved a lot quicker and with something in Legion the show that the light may not be "good" as much as it's just opposed to darkness. So you have to rescue the draenor orcs from Yrel and the forces of light of that are now over zealous and massacring all that don't accept the light the same way they didn't accept the demon blood Gul'Dan was offering. Khadgar the dude who turned into a raven was student of the guy in warcraft 3. His lore is mainly books and outside game stuff so I've got no idea. WoD was all time travel, but into an alternate timeline not our timeline so a lot of these characters are already dead or those who did die our version is still alive. So the giant blue goat man Archimond who in a warcraft 3 cinematic destroyed that city by making a sandcastle of it is the same race as the little goat people, but accepted the demon blood and Archimond in particular was made like general which is why he's massive. He at the end there sends past alternate Gul'Dan into our timeline to fulfill his pact of bringing the Legion to conquer more worlds. Why the demons know all this timetravel stuff I have no idea, but WoD had a habit of starting with strong stories, having no middle, and here's the end.

I would like to draw your attention to a certain group of fan movies from Warcraft universe. The movies are collectively called "Tales of the Past" and is a trilogy. First part can be omitted because it was created as an advertisement for a guild that existed on one of the WoW servers, in addition it was a silent film with only subtitles. However second and third parts were already dubbed. Originally, these films were made in the years before the 2nd expansion pack to WoW (within which they were created) and tell the story of a gnome and a man from Eden Aurorae guild. In retrospect, they can be called "an alternative history of what happened shortly before and during the above mentioned expansion". If you are interested in them, at the moment it is best to look for the 4K AI Upscaled version, because the original version on YT is no longer available.

Very good take on the Orc-Human comparison honestly. Coming from someone who thinks the horde is pretty much irredeemable haha. I think your questions have probably already been answered in the comments, and don't really wanna spam the same info over and over. But well... 1: Big green/blue dude is from the same original race as all the small blue people, with hooves. Called Eredar alternatively Draenei (our allies). His personal name is Archimonde though. Seen in the WC3 cinematics. 2: Khadgar the human mage (turning into a Raven) is the apprentice of the guy with the "feather shoulders", named Medivh. He was the corrupted guardian who helped bring the orcs and the legion to Azeroth. After his death a part of his essence survived and came back to try and make amends for his mistakes. Seen in WC3 cinematics. He gathers the races together to defeat Archimonde, previously mentioned. Extra: But demon souls are like connected to the Twisting Nether (chaos-space) and Argus (Eredar/legion homeplanet), where Sargeras (big bad titan god) makes sure they are reincarnated. Hence him returning here. For whatever reason after this defeat he was actually dead, cold on the ground, deceased, etc.

Khadgar is perhaps the most accomplished of all living wizards one of the most powerful magi in Azerothian history. Khadgar currently acts as the leader of the Kirin Tor. He was an apprentice to the Guardian Medivh, until he helped defeat his possessed master. Though cursed with frailty and age, Khadgar nevertheless has been an exemplar for the Alliance, destroying the Dark Portal in the Second War, leading the Alliance Expedition to Draenor, and counterattacking against the Burning Legion and all who would threaten his world with annihilation. While a hero of the Alliance, Khadgar is willing to work with the Horde for the greater good of Azeroth. As a member of the Council of Six, Khadgar hopes to drive the politics out of the Kirin Tor, and has been known to clash with the more partisan members of the council. During the events on the alternate Draenor, he led the forces of the Alliance and the Horde to shut down the Dark Portal, and later worked with them to cripple the Iron Horde in various areas of the world. He focused heavily on combating Gul'dan and the Shadow Council, mostly by working alongside the faction commanders and empowering them through a legendary ring of power. Returning to Azeroth, Khadgar tried to prevent Gul'dan from opening the Tomb of Sargeras but was forced to witness helplessly as the portal formed and the Legion poured through. He quickly informed important leaders of Azeroth of the impending Burning Legion invasion. Though the factions of Azeroth rallied to combat the demonic threat and attempt to reseal the portal, their armies were defeated at the Battle for the Broken Shore. Knowing that the combined forces of the greatest champions of Azeroth are necessary to succeed in resealing the portal, Khadgar made a plea to the Council of Six to readmit the Horde back into the Kirin Tor in order to fight the demons at full strength. The leader of the Kirin Tor at the time, Jaina Proudmoore, was in opposition to this, but the Council put the matter to a vote and the majority voted against her. In response, Jaina left the Kirin Tor, unable to condone the Council's decision. Khadgar assumed leadership of the Kirin Tor after Jaina's departure and coordinated the campaign on the Broken Isles. He was one of the main protagonists in The Last Guardian, Tides of Darkness, Beyond the Dark Portal, Warlords of Draenor and Legion.

The human who turned into a bird at the end is Khadgar. He is the apprentice of Medivh who built the azerothian portal that connects to Guldans portal on draenor and sets off the first war. At the end of the second war Khadgar destroyed the draenor portal and was presumed dead. He was absent throughout the 3rd war durring which Illidan reopened the portal and fled to dreanor(now called outland). Many years later when we invaded outland in a misguided attempt to bring Illidan to "justice" we found Khadgar and since that he has reluctantly been settling into the role of guardian. The blue dude who stepped into the black magic thing and sacrificed himself did that because this holy crystal creature was dying and turned into a voidstar which would leak "radiation" and melt everything. He sacrificed himself to bring it back to life. Sidenote. If you noticed he had a glowing rune flowing infront of his forehead which identified him as the leader. He transfered the rune to the woman next to him making her the new leader before he offed himself. The big blue guy that throws Guldan into a portal at the end is actually his brother who turned and joined the legion a long time ago. One more thing. Guldan uses magic in a Makgora is called out as a cheater. Sylvanas is fighting a Makgora and uses magic. Omg shes a cheater screw her! Then Thrall cheats and uses magic in a Makgora and no one bats an eye. Oh happy day everythings just dandy. Thats Horde hypocracy at its finest! A prime example of what Horde Honour really means. Precisely nothing. Basicly if youre popular you can piss all over your cultures traditions without consequence. A Makgora is supposed to be a fair fight. But every single time one has ever been fought one of the participants cheats and the outcome is really decided based on wether the cheater is popular. Join the Alliance! Our leaders actually respect the rules and traditions.

Welcome back to some more story time! Let me preface this by saying that Warlords of Draenor had an insane amount of cut content, so the story is a bit of a jumbled mess in this one. Also, it is a time travel story so I'll try my best to differentiate between prime timeline characters (og) and alternate timeline charachters (alt). As you may recall, in my previous story time, I mentioned that Garrosh went back in time just before the orcs drank Gul'dan's "gift" to warn his father about all the strings attached. The very first cinemtic shows the results of this: everything plays out the same way, except alt Grommash rejects the demon blood. Yes, that green goo is the blood of the Pit Lord Mannoroth (the demon who laughs at and taunts alt Grommash just after he pours the blood back in the pool). That shot of Garrosh pushing alt Grommash out of the way of the explosion is actually a callback to the Warcraft 3 cinematic where og Grommash also killed Mannoroth but died in the resulting explosion. The Dark Portal still gets built on alternate Draenor but instead of it being connected to alternate Azeroth, it is instead connected to prime Azeroth (i. e. our timeline) which is why the Portal turns red. The guy who orders the charge on the Red Portal and can turn into a crow is Khadgar. You weren't far off misidentifying him as Medivh, as Khadgar was his student (although if he bears the title of Guardian is hard to say because so many things have been retconned since the Warcraft 3 days). Charging with Khadgar is Thrall, former Warchief of the Horde and the mentor of Garrosh (I will ask you to revisit one of my previous comments about their relationship for further information), and Maraad from the previous WoW Journey video. The Red Portal gets destroyed on the alt Draenor side, ending the threat to og Azeroth, but the Azerothian forces are stranded on Draenor, so they enlist the aid of the locals to overthrow the Iron Horde (the og Horde goes to the Frostwolf clan and Durotan while the Alliance goes to the alt Draenei and alt Velen). In the third cinematic, Ner'zhul (the orc) is corrupting a Naaru (the easiest way to describe them would be angels of the Holy Light) so that the Draenei lose their protector and their power. Velen effectively puts the girl, alt Yrel in charge and sacrifices himself so that the Naaru doesn't become corrupted. The reason the distinction between og Yrel and alt Yrel is important is because og Yrel was Maraad's wife but she died in the og timeline. Maraad actually sacrifices himself during WoD questing so that alt Yrel can live. And we arrive at the cinematic which is probably filled with emotions the most. A little context: during questing, we storm the Warson clan's stronghold but their defences are stronger than anticipated so we get captured. Thrall swoops in and makes a deal with Garrosh: our lives in exchange for a Mak'gora (technically a ritualistic battle for the title of chieftan/warchief but here, the ritualistic aspect is the most important). This is also why I must say that this cinematic is a load of bull... Both of them were supposed to bring witnesses to the fight so that there are people who can attest that it was a fair fight. Both of them were supposed to have aides who prepare them for the duel. And... Thrall actually cheated. During Mak'gora one is supposed to fight with one weapon, and one weapon only. Thrall used magic which is a big taboo in Mak'gora. There's also the fact that, while Thrall has a point in Garrosh choosing his own destiny, Garrosh is also right: it was Thrall who put an inexperienced hothead in charge of the Horde in a time of crisis and then proceeded to stand around and watch as Garrosh used more and more drastic measures because both Vol'jin and Cairne abandoned him and he didn't know what to do. As for Gul'dan offering the gift for a second time, that is the moment alt Grommash finds out that Garrosh "was his son". Garrosh never told him that piece of information. We don't exactly know why alt Grommash starts praising us to Gul'dan as an entire raid tier (and thus an entire section of the story) got cut. The large dude who steps out of the portal summoned by Gul'dan isn't alt Velen but Archimonde, the demon who in Warcraft 3 tried to drain the World Tree but was stopped atop Mount Hyjal. The pact he's talking about that Gul'dan made is never specified but we can inffer that it has something to do with the destruction of Azeroth (either og or alt). You sneaky devils watched the Legion teaser trailer at the end there too! You correctly guessed that the guy entombed is Illidan Stormrage but for what purpose Gul'dan wants to use him for, remains a mystery until you watch the next set of cinematics ;) Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer any of them :)

Very good recap, just small caviat, magic isnt forbiden in a mak'gora providing it is listed as the weapon up front, neither of them really understands the exact rules of a mak'gora and it is just used as a duel, as noted by the lacks of a witness from each as well. So using magic and the doomhammer would yes be cheating but since all other aspects of the mak'gora wernt set up properly anyway, it is a moot point.

"35 Years Ago." Yep this is at the point of the demon blood (the green stuff) getting into the horde. It is prior to the invasion of the horde. In the regular time-line they did drink the demon blood & slaughtered until they invaded Azeroth prompting the first war. Which is Warcraft: Orcs & Humans the game. If you play as the Horde. You can find this game on GOG. Its very dated. To talk about the time-line of a second. Warlords of Draenor involved some time travel shenanigans going to the past in an alternate Draenor which invades the current Azeroth. What we see here also is Garrosh Hellscream. His son from our universe whom died in this one along with his wife. He warns Grom & brings back modern Azeroth technology for the new Iron Horde to use. "Nice Save" Yep that scene calls back to the Warcraft III cinematic where an older Grom Hellscream. Dies from it but frees the horde from the demon blood. "Who are you ?" He is called Khadgar he is a powerful mage. "Took him long enough to kinda bust it out." Thrall (Goel) is someone that more wants peace he fights when needs to & doesn't want to overly harm. So he is always holding back. When he goes full ham like this it is pretty much a "oh crap" moment. He is after all one of the most powerful Shamans out there. "You didn't see this in your..." Oh he did rewatch it you will see both horde & alliance banners at his death. "Who the hell ?" That big guy is Archimonde. One of the main leaders of the legion. "What was the pact he made though?" For Power... You watched his animation. "Who are you ?" The horned lady is called Y'rel. In the alliance version of play you work with her in Shadowmoon Valley. You could say to a degree she is the replacement for Marad. "I think that is Illidan." Indeed it is. You saw in an earlier cinematic him collapsing. He was taken to prison. "Guldan reminds me of the emperor." I can see the parallel yes. He is very much a mastermind. The irony of course is that he is merely a servant for the legion. Of course the horde didn't originally know that. Well except in our timeline Ner'zhul (Orc with the Dark Star) who taught him. Something as you see didn't happen in his alternate universe. "I really like the orcs..." Understandable the thing is that the Horde & Alliance are both players. To trash the orcs would cause issues. After all no-one really is naturally evil we are made so by our environment. Good & evil are simply not that clear cut its all shades of grey. "... same guy that goes into the light." The big guy & the guy that goes into the light are two different characters. As far as we know Y'rel is not the daughter of Velen (light guy). "... was he in the warcraft iii trailers that we saw." No, that was Medivh his master for magic & guardian of Azeroth. Khadgar appears in Warcraft II.

That ending with Gromash was sadly unearned. By that point he and the rest of the Orcs had committed so much genocide for shits and giggles to get to where they got, that it didn't really matter that he (and only him and I suppose the Frostwolves) rejected the demon blood. This was a very disappointing expansion overall (Blizzard had to cut it short early), and especially for those that were expecting a more nuanced vision of the Orc's ancestors (it was a time travel expansion). Even the Frostwolves were on the verge of turning to the dark side if the player hadn't stepped in. Also, this video skipped like 80% of the expansion's story cinematics. Great reaction guys!

Agreed. It's like they cut the Empire strikes Back, so Vader tries to kill Luke, and then immediately Luke tries to redeem him, without the reveal about them being related. This xpac should have been a chance for the Horde to look at it's past with modern eyes, and for the Alliance to see their old enemies were much like them, before the Legion came. Instead it's just more smashy smashy.

harbringers and Legion are next! So there were definitely some videos you guys missed, or maybe youtube blocked them or something, essentially some short cinematics that happened for quests (such as seeing Blackhand or Maarad's atonement (so to speak)) to answer some questions that im sure others might have answered already 1) the giant guy at the end was Archimonde the Defiler, you guys saw him at the end of the warcraft 3 cinematics where he got blown up by all the wisps, since he was a demon only his physical body was destroyed (in a sense) in warlords or draenor we see Garrosh go back in time, and here we see Guldan summon Archimonde to Draenor. Here is also where we (the players) officially kill Archimonde for good (the short and sweet of it is demons can only truly die in areas where there is tons of Fel energy which the area we fight him had Fel energy just soaked everywhere thanks to Gul'dan. Archimonde is actually the "brother" figuratively of the old guy you talked about with the light pillar etc. (its a whooooole thing, if you want to learn about the lore i recommend Nobbel87 vids) 2) i can't remember if we ever really found out what pact was made exactly but you can think of it as gul'dan selling his soul, Archimonde sends him through the portal back to our timeline to keep working for the demons. Archimonde was basically saying "I might be dead but we still own your soul and you got work to do" - which is what sparks the events that start and continue in Legion. 3) the Raven guy i Khadgar (after he got a new character model that made the fandom SUPER happy lol) - he is the apprentice of the old prophet guy from Warcraft 3 that you were talking about- hence the similar outfit and raven shapeshifting abilities. He is basically a super powerful mage that is sworn to protect Azeroth, he plays a significant role in Legion as well. Really hyped for Legion, personally for me Legion has some of the best story telling and probably the most amount of cinematics to tell story in so far following the Battle For Azeroth expansion, i really expect your Legion video to either be multiple parts (to give an idea the Legion "movie" (all cinematics) is just over an hour long) or very long vid, but there is some good stuff there. the Orcs that we players faced in WoD were not truly evil, they were proud Warriors with their own values, the only exception i would say was Nerzhul, he walked down a dark path that consumed him completely, so much so even his wife no longer recognized him. however Gul'dan and his Shadow Council are different, they serve the Legion, and that makes them the enemy of all living beings.

Need to say, we were mostly familiar with characters in Warlords of Dreanor via WOW Book series which had quite lot of focus on origin of Horde. All though lot of this was kinda remastering them at places, it was mostly reintroducing most famous characters. However most brilliant idea was bring back Guldan. As he went he was possibly most hated man, both by fandom and characters that knew about him (he was kinda know only by Horde, but they hate him more than Hitler). Plus even after death his legacy somehow medled with so many other plot points. Murdered Thrall parents, his teacher which he betrayed become original Lich King, and his scull was artefact that allowed Illidan to transform into demon. However Guldan was dead some 30 years, so he was unavailable. That is until they bring back his alt version from diffrent time space like later Marvel did Thanos.

Again my time to explain stuff. (Almost all things happened here are in Alternative timeline, and have nearly 0 impact on our timeline.) Only Thrall, Garrosh, Kadghar (silver hair human) and Murrad are from our timeline in these cinematics. 1:40 - so this is the point in our timeline Orcs drink demon blood and became green and evil. In this timeline, Garrosh convinced his father to not to accept it and kill Monoroth instead. If you watch Warcraft 3 cinematic, Monoroth die with explosion which kills Grommash. In this timeline, Garrosh saves him. And they begin construction of a New Dark Portal. 5:40 - horde and Alliance forces push though the Dark portal which is red now instead of green refering the time traveling. 3 characters are "Kadghar" the leader of Kirintor. "Thrall" son of Durotan, and "Muraad" l. 6:30 - (Shadowmoon End). "Nerzul" in this timeline who is really really evil sacrifice himself to release the Dark Narru,. But "Velen" of this timeline sacrifices himself to purify the Narru. Also give his powers to "Yrel". 8:00 - (Nagrand End). The Final Confrontation between Thrall and Garrosh, both from our timeline tho. Missing cinematic - (Talador End). Yrel and Murrad with Kadghar fight alternate timeline "Blackhand" And Murrad sacrifices himself to save Yrel. Missing cinematic - (Frostfireridge End). So..The iron Horde invade frostwolve clan. And Durotans brother Sacrifices himself to save the clan. There you can see Thrall from our timeline,. And Durotan, his wife Draka, and Drekthar the shaman All from the alternative timeline. 10:35 - IronHorde loose the war against Horde and Alliance, now Guldan force events according to his plan. 14:45 - Guldan about to be defeated make portal to summon "Archimond", Archimond the Defiler is the 2nd in command of legion forces along with Kiljaeden. He's also in Warcraft 3 cinematics. 15:30 - Alchimond send Guldan to our timeline with his dieing breath. 17:30 - now Alternate Guldan in our timeline break into Valut of Wardens and he now found the Body of Illidian. Who is Kadghar - one of Fan favourite, people call him Dadgar cause he likes Dad jokes. Kadghar is one of main characters in story from the Warcraft 3. But unfortunately he didn't got any cinematics so far. He is the apprentice of Medive, which is why they both use a Raven as their symbol. He is the main character in Warcraft movie too. And currently strongest mage alive.

I really hope that you decide to find and watch the 2 cinematics you missed from some other uploader. They don't tell too much story, but they're just awesome and you get to learn a bit more about Maraad, Durotan and his brother, Thrall and the others (+ the female Draenei, Yrel, goes up against one of the warlords in one of them). Also fun fact; the orc you see in the 2nd ingame cutscene at around 6:20, is actually the future Lich King, Ner'zhul. Long story short, in the original timeline, he takes over the Horde after their failed invasion of Azeroth (the planet the game generally takes place on). He is eventually taken in by the Burning Legion, who is far from pleased with his actions, and the being known as Kil'jaeden (second-in-command of the Burning Legion alongside Archimonde who you see die in the end of this expansion, who is also the one that blows up in Warcraft 3 while climbing the massive tree) decides to torture him for a while before transforming him into the Helm of Domination (the one who is sometimes heard speaking, which is also the one Arthas wears in the end of Warcraft 3 and during Wrath of the Lich King). Edit: Actually found the three, so here you go in case you want to see them =) Tanaan Jungle intro finale (this one takes place right after the very first one you saw where the forces enter the portal): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pmbUYOwqWCc.html Frostfire Ridge finale: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q8XSOKC4iQg.html Talador finale: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-86kpixfATf8.html

Gul'dan has some weird stuff going on in this story. I won't mention what you'll learn later, but the foundation of Warlords of Draenor isn't very well explained in the story. It's like a parallel universe time traveling expansion. So not only do they go back in time 35 years, but they also go to a parallel universe so that nothing they change actually change the main timeline. Gul'dan in the main universe is already dead long ago, but now the Gul'dan from the new parallel timeline was sent to the main timeline by the big demon guys whos one of the 3 big demon lords. Sargeras is the main big bad guy, Kil'jaeden is a red demon guy, and this blue and green one who sent Gul'dan forward in time is Archimonde. If you decide to check out the very good PlatinumWoW videos on the Draenei and the orcs you'll find out about that stuff. But yeah, so the reason why all this time traveling thing happend at all is because a "Time Dragon" helped Garrosh escape from prison after he was taken at the end of Mists of Pandaria. So they went back in time so that Garrosh could make a new orcish army that could destroy the main timeline Horde and Alliance. Gul'dan basically became a part of the story again because he used to be one of the legions most powerful agents but is dead in the main timeline, so now they have him again running around doing his legion things. His pact is basically to do the Legions will. Archimonde is not the same guy that goes into the light sky beam thing, thats Velen. Along side Kil'jaeden those 3 used to rule the Draenei (blue aliens) society like 40,000 years ago until the Sargeras came abd made issues. Kil'jaeden and Archimonde became demon lords while Velen fled and has been fleeing ever since. Though it kinda takes away from his sacrifice in Warlords of Draenor, don't be too surprised if you see him again. This was the alternate timeline version of Velen who died. The main timeline Velen is still around. On a different note, the other comment that suggests you check out PlatinumWoW is really good, I recommend the series of videos on the "history of humans" followed by the "history of worgen" ones, but they're all good if you decide to check it out. He also has a very good halloween episode from last year where he presents the story of WoWs halloween boogeyman, the Headless Horseman. It's a great watch. He presents the actual lore of the game while being funny at the same time. Also, to answer the question of the guy who can turn into a crow. Thats Khadgar, he was the apprentice of Medivh which is the crow guy from Warcraft 3. You'll learn more about him later.

The big dude is Archemonde. Archimonde (pronounced ARK-i-mond) was one of the three leaders of the eredar, ruling his people on Argus alongside Kil'jaeden and Velen (the guy that went into the lightbeam and sacrificed himself) in peace and harmony. He eagerly joined the fallen titan Sargeras who promised them knowledge, power and, most importantly, the answer to the question "what is the one underlying flaw of the universe?", in exchange for loyalty. While most eredar, a knowledge-seeking race, joined the Burning Crusade aka the Legion because of their thirst for knowledge, Archimonde joined Sargeras for power.

Some context regarding Thrall and Garrosh. While in the end he went down a dark path, Garrosh spoke nothing but truth in the duel with Thrall. Out of what he believed to be some penance for his people, but in fact it was outright stupidity, Thrall made the heart of the Horde kingdom in a near desolate desert with little to no access to natural resources. While I have some nostalgia for the original Orgrimmar, they likely cut down every tree in Durotar and the northern Barrens just to make its walls. It would never hold up to any kind of true military assault. So when Thrall went off to become closer to the elements in Cataclysm, and left Garrosh in charge as Warchief he dropped a horrible mess of an empire into his lap. Lumber was scarce, food was scarce. His people would starve without action. There were definitely some machinations in the shadows from cultists and other evils that pitted the Horde and Alliance against one another when they tried for diplomacy, but the Alliance was quick to lay blame on the Horde without even thinking of finding the truth. And so Garrosh took Ashenvale from the elves. Most of it anyway. Finally his people had food and lumber aplenty. By this point it was a full on war, and atrocities were committed by both sides and so it kept escalating all the way up until Garrosh choosing to push out some races of the Horde and he used the Heart of Fear on the pools.

This expansion was about time travel, and didnt made much sense. Garrosh trying to prevent the Horde from falling into demon hands, Grom trying not to F up since he was the one that pushed the other clans to drink the demonic mountain dew, Thrall cheating on his honor challenge and much more. Gul'dan story is interesting, I advice watching his warbringers to see it in more deepth. However in this dimension which WoD goes by is the following: He was weak orc and went into a journey to speak with the elements but those ignored him, most likely feeling his deep darkness but instead of been alone another power talked to him and was in the form of Kil'jaeden i believe, lord of the burning legion after their master Sargeras was "defeated". After that Gul'dan went into weaponizing the Horde for the Legion's main goal, the invasion of Azeroth. This version of it, different from the main one, drank the demonblood from the pit lord Mannoroth(The dragon/demon from the trailer and also the one that fights Thralls and Grom in the cannyon) and goes into giving the blood to the rest of the orcs, however since Garrosh came back with the add of dragon magic he alerted his father(which he was adviced not to tell he was his son) about it and things turn a different turn. After the trailer both Grom and Garrosh went to improve the Horde, now Iron Horde, with goblin tech and conquering their continent and preparing for the invasion of Azeroth since Garrosh had a couple rage induced hatred from before. How their portal connected to ours? Who knows! Even Blizzard doenst but cool story lol. In the end Gul'dan ended up giving the blood to some of the orcs after they start losing, he summons another lord of the Legion called Archimonde(dude that was blow by the wisp spirits atop the big tree), he dies again and teleports Gul'dan to our reality where he finds Illidan's body to serve as a vessel to Sargeras and unlike our Gul'dan, that betrayed the Legion to find Sargeras body and consume his power, alternative Gul'dan open the way for the second Legion invasion of Azeroth during the "Legion" expansion.

So yea, for people who just casually consume WOW lore this was a hell of a confusing expansion... With understanding comes satisfaction There are two quotes from this that i use very often in my real life: Guldan's "you have no vision!" Drives me since, and made me qestioning literally everything and researching any topic deeply to know and to have a vision Garrosh'es "times change" is my insider joke, because by knowing lore i understand why he said that to guldan in that particular moment Garrosh was from the future, and by his actions he just changed it, shaped it differently Btw. No One explained HOW garrosh escaped pandaria and appeared in alternate timeline on draenor He was taken there by corrupted member of bronze dragonflight... Dragonflights are simply dragons that protected azeroth, and bronze dragons were supposed to guard time it self This was explored mostly during cataclysm with war between dragonflights against timeless dragonflight and black dragonflight.... Time travel was established there there is even one time traveling duengon (besides caverns of time) that shows us future up to the most recent expansion... in fact far away story of sylvanas and tyrande was forshadowed there blizzard left us breadcrums here and there looooong before this expansion... btw. after 'battle for azeroth' videos ....(or maybe better after the newest one - shadowlands to avoid potential spoilers) i will tell you what happened to Yrel and how it MIGHT be simmilar to that situation, i dont know it for sure, thats an theory among people familiar with lore, it didnt happen yet and we dont know if blizz will use this open route for WOW

Little late to this one, I skimmed and didn't see anyone mention it but if they have, whoops. During Thrall and Garrosh's duel, it's pretty divisive in the community whether or not it was a fair fight. Thrall challenged Garrosh to mak'gora, a duel of honor. The rules aren't completely set in stone, and it's commonly held that magic is not allowed, or that both sides must agree to its use (I subscribe to the common theory that both sides set the rules of their duel, like when Garrosh and Cairne fought). A while after this, Thrall begins to lose his powers and tells us that the elemental spirits have stopped speaking to him, presumably due to flexing his abilities and unfairly using magic to defeat Garrosh. Even if magic wasn't disallowed, I'd argue that Thrall was "playing" with Garrosh and drew it out unnecessarily by tossing him around, trapping him with a giant stone hand and then electrocuting him to death. Whether he cheated or not, he was a bad sport about it.

Someone has probably said this already but the battle between garosh and thrall is VERY significant as it is a battle called "Mak'gora" an honorable fight between two people. The rules are generally: one weapon is permitted. The fight is to the death. Armor is prohibited. Some fights also include the rule that a dropped weapon cannot be picked up. The fact that thrall summons the elements to aid him functions as a secondary weapon, meaning he broke the rules of Mak'gora, which is a massive dishonor to him. This was heavily discussed when the cinematic was released

We’ve definitely heard the debate on this. Even some claiming that magic can be used and it was never officially banned. Lots of heated debate in some of the comments 😂🤗

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames it depends on the rules. Per the officially known rules of Mok'gora it has 3 core rules that are sometimes ammended for different fights. If the fight is done the same time its called for, the basic rules apply. To be honest though, this all shows the diversity of the tradition itself. It has been issued many times both in writing and in the games. It is always epic

Her fancy amethyst hammer belongs to Maraad (The 5th Lord of war) who died in Talador Finale Cinematic saving her :D Shame it was flagged :( would have love to see your reaction. Yea Grom Hellscream (The Lord of war with Iron will) and Durotan (The lord of war with wolf) are the only orcs who denied Guldan and his magic. The orc that summoned the big Giant Purple thing is Nerzhul ( The first Lich King) - the skeleton in the Iceberg that Arthas (The second Lich King) destroyed/freed in Warcraft 3. The mage that turn into the crow is the disciple of the one in Warcraft 3.

Hmm, trying to figure out how to lay out this in the easiest way to read... Also, sorry, but there's no way to make this both short and coherent. Hopefully it will be useful at least. :) I'll start with your questions. The deal Gul'dan made: Bring the orcs into the fold of the Burning Legion by having them drink the blood of a pit lord. (This is a stepping stone goal to get the orcs as shock troops in the Burning Legion as they invade Azeroth. Azeroth is where Archimonde sends him after their plans on Draenor B doesn't succeed.) The huge guy who came out of the portal Gul'dan made: Archimonde, an eredar and one of the two leaders of the Burning Legion. Once part of the ruling triumvirate of Argus. Guy who goes into the light to sacrifice himself: Prophet Velen, an eredar turned leader of the draenei. Once part of the ruling triumvirate on Argus. Draenei lady: Yrel, a fledgling paladin who has been tutored by Velen. We follow her growth from apprentice to full paladin to Exarch during the game. Mage who turned into a bird: Khadgar, archamage and former apprentice to the Guardian Medivh. Medivh is the feather-cloak guy from the Warcraft 3 cinematics. Green orc who storms the Dark Portal with Khadgar and Maraad: Thrall, former warchief of the Horde and one of the most powerful shamans of Azeroth (and Draenor). (Kil'jaden is the second leader of the Burning Legion, and was the third member of the ruling triumvirate on Argus. He was particularly close to Velen, and took his refusal to join Sargeras and the Burning Legion quite hard. This will be relevant for the upcoming Legion expansion/series of videos.) On to a little summary of Warlords of Draenor (B): "We will never be slaves! But we will be conqerors!" The Iron Horde invades Azeroth through the Dark Portal. Archmage Khadgar gathers forces from both the Alliance and the Horde to repel the invasion. Thrall leads the Horde forces, Maraad leads the Alliance forces. Cue "Storm the Portal" cinematic. The players arrive in at the Draenor B side of the Dark Portal in Tanaan. The Azerothian vanguard is killed, but buys enough time to let Khadgar, Thrall, Maraad and the players escape. Introduces the warlords in small mini cinematics. Alliance players rescue Yrel, a young paladin trainee who is a prisoner of the Iron Horde. Horde players rescue Ga'nar of the Frostwolves, a hotheaded warrior who is a prisoner of the Iron Horde. Alliance players escape to Shadowmoon Valley, meet the Draenei and establish a garrison. Horde players escape the Frostfire Ridge, meet the Frostwolves and establish a garrison. In Shadowmoon Valley the draenei are beset by Iron Horde forces from the Shadowmoon clan led by Ner'zul, a powerful shaman. He is tapping into power from "the Dark Star", causing all sorts of trouble and threatens the Temple of Karabor, one of the major draenei settlements on the planet. As the Iron Horde lays siege to Karabor, the player, Velen and Yrel confronts Ner'zul. Cue Shadowmoon Valley ending cinematic "Velen's sacrifice". In Frostfire Ridge, Thrall meets his parents Durotan and Draka, something he never got to do in our timeline. The Frostwolves are under threat from both ogres and the Thunderlord clan of orcs. Ga'nar turns out to be Durotan's older, hotheaded brother. As Durotan and Ga'nar butt heads, the Frostwolves attack the main ogre citadel in the region and wins with the player's help. Next on the list is the Thunderlords and their powerful chieftan. Who turns out to be Durotan and Ga'nar's older exiled brother Fenris. After solving that problem, the Iron Horde attacks through a narrow pass from another region. Their numbers are too great for the Frostwolves to fight in the open, but the shaman, Drek'thar, says he can block the pass with his powers, but he needs time for such a large work. Durotan and Ga'nar squabble about who is going to buy him time, and Ga'nar settles it. And sacrifices himself holding the Iron Horde off long enough. Cue Frostfire Ridge ending cinematic "Ga'nar's sacrifice" (blocked). With footholds secured and allies made, the Horde and Alliance move further into Draenor B, and cinematically things come to a head at Shattrath, one of the largest draenei cities on Draenor B. The players, Yrel, Durotan, Draka and Khadgar team up to help defeat the Iron Horde. In a climactic fight against the warlord Blackhand, Maraad sacrifices himself to save Yrel, and break off the siege, redeeming his mistake from the Draenor A timeline. (Siege of Shattrath cinematic, blocked.) (There is a small but lore-relevant little bit where the Horde player is denied access to a Kirin Tor outpost by one of Jaina Proudmoore's water elementals, but Khadgar intervenes and lets the Horde player in. As he holds equal rank to her in the Kirin Tor, this is his right. And his responsibility if anything goes wrong.) The Horde, Alliance and their allies move further into Draenor B and in Nagrand they face off against the Warsong clan, commanded by Garrosh Hellscream (who has not told Grommash that he is his son from another timeline). We defeat the Warsong forces and Thrall challenge Garrosh to a Mak'gora. Cue "Nagrand duel" cinematic. Grommash himself is notably absent. Yrel is made an Exarch and since Shattrath now wields Maraad's hammer. We then attack the ogres in their citadel Highmaul (where we kill Kargath Bladefist), and Blackhand in Blackrock Foundry. The Tanaan cinematic then reveals where Grommash went, having gone with Killrogg Deadeye to Tanaan to meet with Gul'dan. With Grommash now a prisoner of Gul'dan and Killrogg along with a significant portion of the remaining Iron horde forces finally having drunk the blood of Mannoroth, Gul'dan sets out to attack the Horde and Alliance, the remaining non-fel orcs and the draenei, and rebuild the Dark Portal so the fel Horde can invade Azeroth with the rest of the Burning Legion. We fight the fel Horde and their allies in Tanaan (duh), invade Hellfire Citadel and kill Killrogg, the pit lord Mannoroth and a bunch of others, as well as free Grommash, until Gul'dan in desperation summons Archimonde. The final fight of the raid is against the Eredar Lord and we manage to defeat him. Cue Ending Cinematic. The final cinematic with Gul'dan finding the imprisoned Illidan was released during the pre-Legion events as I recall, but as the story of Warlords of Draenor (B) leads directly into Legion, it fits having it shown here. Bonus Trivia: The staff Khadgar carries is Medivh's staff, Atiesh. It's how he's able to turn into a raven. Khadgar is actually in his mid-30's but was prematurely aged by a spell in a fight against Medivh-possessed-by-the-spirit-of-Sargeras back in the second war/Warcraft 2. It's a long story, and this is long enough already. Fel magic = demonic magic. Warlocks and everyone using magic in the Burning Legion is using this type of magic. It is powerful, but very destructive and slowly poisons the land if used for a prolonged period of time. Pit lords have fel magic fused into their blood, making them incredibly strong and powerful, but volatile. Hence the explosion when Grommash kills one of them in the Warlords cinematic. The "Dark Star" in Shadowmoon Valley is actually a naaru in stationary low orbit. The Naaru are powerful Light-based entities and long time allies of the draenei. They can sometimes enter a darkened state if wounded or severly drained of their essence. They then become Void beings, causing chaos and destruction until they are destroyed or brought back to the Light.

The guy that turned in to a crow is Khadgar, he is not the same guy as from the Warcraft 3 cinematics. Thats Medivh, he was the Guardian of Azeroth. Khadgar was his apprentice. And the big guy that came out of the portal is no the guy who you saw earlier. Its the guy that you saw in Warcraft 3 cinematics. He destroyed a city building a sand castle.

Ah the infamous Warlords of Draenor expansion. The cinematics for it look so cool and the story was in fact pretty entertaining. The raids and dungeons were also really good. So what was the problem? Oh right that trailer for patch 6.2 was the final patch and raid for the expansion only 7 months after the expansion had launched. We then went 14 months without any new content. Rumors are that there was an entire middle raid tier scrapped as they realized the expansion features turned out to be really hollow and they just wanted to move on to working on the next expansion instead.

Okay so, Velen, the dude who sacrificed himself for the light does die. The big light being you saw was what is called a Naaru and is a supreme being of light. However, Warlords of draenor is set in a "parrallel universe" which is further behind in time. The events you saw had already happened (or a version of them) in "our universe". We went through the portal to help because "our" Garrosh had gone through to try and change history. Velen is still alive in "our world" and the next expansion "legion" will be set back in our own universe. Think Spiderman - into the spiderverse kinda situation.

Guldan is a warlock. He made a deal with the devil, so to speak and, the Legion literally owns him. Body, mind and, soul. Archimonde sends him back through the fel gate to sort of save him for later. Demons like Archimonde can't be truly killed. All you can do is destroy their bodies which sends their souls back to Argus. The Legion's home base. I feel silly saying all this though since it's been two years. Also, you guys may know this stuff already after all the videos you've watched. But, you asked about the warlock pact and I couldn't find a single comment that talked about it. So, here it is. :)
