@@toxic50009 same, as someone who has played WC3 as a kid and never played wow until a couple months ago starting in sod hearing this wonderful arrangement and variation on WC3 human's theme was beyond amazing. i was already in awe because of the beautiful instrumentation and melodies resembling wc3 music and when the drop hit was beyond epic
No other song gives me feel like this. The nostalgia is almost overwhelming. Man, waking up in the early morning before I would go to school so I could play before I had to leave. My favorite gaming memories were with this game and nothing brings it all back like this song. My eye are welling by the end.
I stopped playing WoW a long time ago, about a year following the Cataclysm release. While I probably won't go back to playing it, I will say that I love the Stormwind theme, and it does make me feel a little bit like I'm still that level 5 hunter going to Stormwind for the first time. Ah, memories.
I remember when I first entered Stormwind with my lvl 13 Nightelf Hunter, this Theme always give me back the feeling back when wow was interesting and had something special.....
B'AWWWW! I played from '07 - '10, then recently started playing again and it's just as fun, if not more fun now. Fuck off with your "things were better in the past" bias.
DerJoltinJoe lol maybe for the first 10 levels they expedited the leveling process to hook players more, but who gives a fuck, those were the most boring levels to trudge through. Don't worry, questing is still nice and slow.
@MixMastaCopyCat Maybe u sucked back then, now WoW is just World of Casuals. PvP is easy as shit, u can lose as a R1 player vs people with 2k exp. Every Idiot can get bis gear, back then u have to get rating to get the best pvp gear, and if u sucked, u dont get gear. Or PvE, back then, for example BC, u had a progress (Kara - Maghteridon - Gruul - Zul Aman - Tempest Keep - Black Temple - Sunwell) now u just go the same raid over and over and just change the difficulty. And now about the classes, they removed all the complexity from almost every class, especially after Wotlk, Warrior back then with stancedance, shield switching was way harder to play at a high level. At the grammar nazis, english isnt my mother language.
I played WoW for the first time 2 months ago, I felt the world was interesting and had something special, great lore, sense of adventure and epicness. The thing is, people forget that the reason the game felt so special to them in the past was because it was their FIRST TIME playing it, not because the game changed to worse. You have already seen what WoW has to offer, its like trying to watch the same movie again and again, of course it feels boring now! The reason you think it's worse is not because the game has become worse, its because you are simply bored of it after having played for so long. Think about it, watch a movie you've never seen before compared to one you have, the impact is completely different, same with games. So dont blame the game, its only natural its boring to you now after having played it so long.
Man I wish I played WoW back in the days, I always loved the soundtracks. I remember being around 10 and always making trial accounts just to chill around Stormwind, I didn't have money to buy the game and I was too young to even be on the internet. Now that i'm finally old and have money it is too late to feel what others have felt in the past. :(
Sadly it's true. I could have felt it but it passed me. Have insanely good experiences from other mmorpgs tho so all is not lost. Even better songs in other games even though this still is one of the best.
Entering Stormwind for the first time, hearing this music, seeing all the statues of the great heroes from the previous Warcraft games... what a grand moment. There was never a greater time of adventure.
I remember playing this game when it first came out in 2004, I was just in elementary school then; I remember the prideful music as I ran through the city with my human Paladin. So many memories, so many good times. Such beautiful artwork and music. I miss this game at times, I sorely do...
I've played Horde for most of my time, but even so, I can't deny. This is one of the most epic, memorable, and simply just best pieces of the WoW soundtrack, and maybe even video game music, of ALL TIME!

Javier Ruiz No infact im not from USA... but i know many americans say that in mexico they speak latin ecc (sometimes) when obviusly they speak a similar language to spanish (with a few different accents) that shoud be called mexican. The Closest language to Latin is Italian followed by Spanish and then French ecc. But since mexican is little different than Spanish, it dosen't gets even close to be similar to latin, thats why i said "fake latin" .
The moment I first stepped into Stormwind and heard this music I was in complete awe. One of my greatest memories of any videogame. Also when I was running around exploring Elwynn.
The first time I walked into Stormwind City was with my level 10 Human Paladin in 2005. I was in a group with two other random players, a warrior and a mage. We had just completed most of the Elwynn Forest quests so we decided to go to Stormwind City for the first time. Three of us ran up that bridge and the music hit. I still remember all three of us stopping to type how we had goosebumps and chills from that music. That was the moment I realized this wasn't just a game anymore, it was an adventure...an experience of a life time. I no longer play WoW or much games for that matter but I was not wrong. WoW was an experience of a life time and I am damn glad I was there during it's beginning and for it's peak (Wrath).
When I saw the city from above and heard the part played, I grabed my friend's shoulder, draged him back and forth like an idiot and shouted: "OMG LOOK OMG LISTEN OMG OMG LISTEN"

I've been a Horde Blood Elf since the beginning of Burning Crusade. But Stormwinds theme is the best theme in the game. The older I get the more chills I get when THAT PART of the song hits. You all know what I mean I miss this Blizzard
Hearing music like this always awakens a yearning to get the feeling back I once experienced in WoW. But then I remember how over time that feeling went away. Now actually playing does nothing for me anymore and I stopped completely.
warcraft 3 was so epic to me and then playing wow was the pinnacle of my gaming experience. i don't know if future generation will feel the same for they new games. During my college years i could play hours without stop and now as a physical therapist i have a ton more time to play but i can't feel the same, i try but to me all the games are boring. sorry for my bad english, its my 2nd language.
didnt play wow back in the day but played classic recently and i see how this game was so popular back in the day its a shame they dont make games like this anymore
walking into stormwind as an insignificant level 10 player and being able to see those veterans next to the auction house along with the music playing in the background was truly one of the best moments for me. really nostalgic and powerful that i'll never ever forget
Recently started playing Wow Ascension. Soon as I hit Stormwind, felt like I was home again. Like the big city just welcomed me back after all these years.
Never really got into this game too much. Got to lvl 85 awhile ago and then just got bored. Wish I played this game more in it's heyday. Years ago I tried the trial and played as a human. Didn't buy it at the time, but it was very cool. I have very fond memories of the starting zone(especially goldshire) and walking into stormwind for the first time. This song will be timeless for me.
Damn, this brings back so many memories... Open Beta, logging into Teldrassil. Retail, running through The Barrens for the first time.. This brings tears to my eyes. Vanilla Wow was so epic and great. Those memories will stay with me forever

I never played an MMO until I tried WoW. This was way back the week BC was released. I remember starting a human warrior, seeing the big statues up front and wondering where the heck I was. Suddenly this awesome music started up and it blew me away. I loved it. It fit this huge city perfectly. I still play and every single time I jump into Stormwind it gives me that nostalgic feeling.
I entered Stormwind for the first time over 6 years ago. I was completing a quest, and bringing some candles to a shop. I was blown away by the size and beauty of SW, as well as this song. It's the reason I cannot leave the Alliance completely, even though my current main is a Tauren. :)
Logged in for the first time after 14 years. There was my LvL 15 hunter that I literally spent 6 months levelling. Now in just 5 hours I’ve gone from 15 to 43. A dream I could never imagine was possible back then.

I was a little, insignifiant human player, leveling for the first time in wow. A quest asked me to enter stormwind. I remember well how the first part of the music burst and I saw the statues of the heroes before me...it was such an epic moment! Like the old Warcraft III...
Because you never played it when it was really incredible...back from 2004-2005 to 2008-2009. Those were the golden days of WOW. It was so much better than any other MMO available, todays there's so much offerings, and WOW has been simplified and changed so much it lost all of its magic and charm.
Krljavi Dzo you clearly didn't play Legion then most of people say it's THE best expansion since wrath in fact some people (some of my friend and people i see on the internet) say it's even better than wrath all the zones are great and unique in term of questing and in term of the look and environment of the zone suramar for example have quests that i've never seen in wow before they balanced pve and pvp gear (people were asking for this for years) with the honor system they added more to the dungeons so you can play it even more with more rewards and ofc become harder (mythic the mythic+ and so on) they added better story telling by using 30-60 sec quick cut scenes with narrative that wasn't there before in wow which is huge + score especially for those that don't read quest text want me to keep going ?? now drop your nostalgia glasses so you can see why Legion is actually great expansion
I remember getting to level 3, in Northshire Valley, doing those defias quests, collecting grapes, and getting bandanas, and a level 70 came by (It was in BC) and I asked him what was he wearing, he said 'It's a tabard.' I said 'wats a tabrd?' (I sucked at spelling and grammar xP) after a little chat he said to come with me, and he brought me to Stormwind City. I lost him and I got lost in my own little world..And that world was..The World of Warcraft!
First time hearing it was on a Griffin back flying on the predefined flight path into Stormwind. This was the most epic sh*t I've ever experienced in a game.
i remember playing it for the first time. it was during a school break in autumn. i was the whole day out with my grandfather hunting. he's died this summer. so when i returned home i started the game the first time. logged on with my school friend. i started as a priest, he was a warrior. when i looked out the window it was raining, maybe a little bit snowing. shivering cold. and my cosy roof room and WoW :) i remember this my whole life. outstanding

Well, there is this great city build by humans, and then city build by war mongering blood lusted orcs which are few hundred years behind of alliance when it comes to social developement. Each one needs a fitting song I guess?
