World of Warships - Broadsides, max range & staying in the back

In today's battle you'll see what you should use your range on your battleship for. Hopefully learn NOT to broadside and see what happens when you stay at the back the entire match and not fight for 1 of the flanks.
I don't know if those 2 BBs were afk, DC or simply staying too far in the back and let the poor Salem do everything for them but this is how NOT to play WoWS.

When I get broadsides like these, I'll also add "WHY RNG? WHY?!!!" as my BB shells just do too many over-pens, random shatters and WTF bounces.

I know what you mean, I started playing a few years ago, started on SEA server for a month, being from Aus myself. Never played that account ever again and have played NA ever since. SEA has the worst of the worst. If people think NA has bad players, SEA is on a whole different level.

Something I use for long range shooting: Once you have fired your volley at an enemy, deselect your ranging on the targeted ship ASAP, if they have the 'priority target' skill on their captain it will show up as 1 less gun aiming at them on their screen and make them less likely to take evasive manouvers

Salem's boosted heal is even more of a beast with Ovechkin's boosted Survivability Expert skill and the 20% heal flag included in the build. It has a total potential HP pool of 157,300 with over 26,000 HP per heal and its a rapid heal taking seconds. Reload for heal and repair are both superfast. This is not a Des Moines clone and is far underestimated by most. My first and best coal ship, despite Smolensk.

Spotter planes on a Zao are awesome. Getting close in a Zao with the way spam is the new meta is death because anyone you can bounce is just going to IFHE you to death and everyone else will citadel you from every direction.

I love this goddamn ship. Probably my favorite BB to play alongside Hood. Of course, the latter is because everyone thinks it sucks because of comments and reviews ... and then get really frustrated why even tier 9 guns can't sink an angled tier 7 battleship, lol. But yeah, Republique's guns are so damn good. Alas, she suffers from my French BB curse of always losing at the top of my team's scoreboard.

At max range Colorado's dispersion is so huge. I fired all guns on a grounded target and only the middle shell in the spread hit.

Had a match yesterday on Two Brothers, I was on the North Carolina with the Tirpitz where we decided to hold D while the rest of the team push from A. half way into capping D did I realized the entire A side got wiped out. Needless to say we did not win that game.

Sometimes (most of the time) I get horrid dispersion on that ship, with broadside targets getting mostly 1 or 2 overpens at max. I am rarely able to exploit a broadsiding ship because of its dispersion, and chasing broadsides could eventually lead to me overextending. I feel like I'm positioning myself as well as possible, given certain circumstances, but if your battleship can't deal damage due to its dispersion, it's a useless battleship.

I can see that the enemy indeed is feeding plenty of broadside, but, while you yourself are maneuvering often, there are moments where you hold your own broadside for several volleys. There's calculated risk, I get that, but were you not opening yourself to them for longer than necessary as well at times and just got lucky they weren't competent enough to shoot back? I generally shoot once, angle, reload, angle back, shoot, angle, reload, etc.

Sometimes when you are confined to islands or land mass you have to maneuver or tactically ground your ship. That is when angling might be sacrificed. Republic has such a short reload ( shorter than 20seconds in late games) .You might not even be able to adjust too much of your heading before you are ready for fire. Reload can drop slightly longer than your rudder shift time. If you fire as frequently as you can, it is harder to drop off detection than other battleships with longer reload and take the maneuver.

I don`t get why everyone is complaining about when the enemy is showing broadside towards you, just don`t get it. Its your chance to deal dmg and delete the enemy so help your team to victory. Yet so many are complaining when the enemy potatos. I would understand if people complain about when your RNg fucks up your salvo again and again but this is just downright stupid lvl 9000.

To be fair, i dont play this game a long time, but you keep saying to ships why broadsiding. But like that yamato is bow on to the rest of the map. You cant move without giving someone broadside right? Credits for getting at a good position to you, but its impossible to not broadside some ships
