Back in early December, I joined NA Community Managers Boggzy and Ahskance for a bit of time on the official World of Warships stream to talk through the basics of playing some of the German cruiser line. The result turned out pretty well, so I'm going to share the videos of what we did on stream here for posterity, as well as expanding them to include some of the ships that we missed. Next up is Tier VIII's Admiral Hipper.
Hipper is the last non-paper ship in the German cruiser line, and though she remains solid enough sometimes feel like she hasn't aged all that well these past six years. Her main battery reload is pretty good compared to many of her contemporaries, but there's a LOT of stiff competition for Tier VIII cruiser slots these days. Her primary attribute remains her survivability: Hipper has a large health pool for a cruiser in her tier, and marries it to an armor scheme that is resilient against many of the battleship guns she will encounter. She's got a great total package when you factor in her AA suite, German hydro, and torpedoes. In this video I'll talk about how I build my Hipper, why I fit her out that way, how I recommend playing her, and follow all of that up with a game demonstrating the ship in action.
