World of Warships- My Favorite Techline Battleship (Iowa) 

Ah yes that appears to be my Nevsky build and not my Iowa build, apologies there lol

The beauty of the USN BB line is in that mastering it makes you a fundamentally better BB player. The line rewards good play and punishes bad mistakes, unlike some other lines.

I flew out to Anaheim in 2019, and had to take a detour to L.A. to see the Iowa, and boy, oh boy... what a treat that was. It happened to be fleet week, which was a bonus seeing the LCS ships too, but seeing one just to the sturn of the Iowa, it really put the overall magnitude of it into perspective. She's a damned intimidating sight to behold for sure.

Iowa is my preferred bb if I want to sit back and have fun. Its a gorgeous ship, historical, and still devastating.

She's my favorite and most played ship in game. Unfortunately I had to stop playing her because I couldn't stand wasting her in games with super CVs and super DDs where you constantly get burned down or torped by invisible ships. In my opinion in the current meta she really suffers not having any radar/hydro or even an AA boost like the one you can find on some cruisers

For a sec, i was wondering why your Iowa had radar and hydro. The Iowa would have shot to the top of my list of ships to get.

You got me into N Carolina! And then I tested the Iowa and Montana in Public Test and they are really nice! Your video of N Carolina is very good and it explains why the Colorado is not very good. Colorado put me off BB's for a loooong time! But N Carolina put me on the right track. Thx!!!

The way BBs are played now is insane. Why is most players,, Not All,, only use HE??? There was one player in my last clan who pushed the idea that the broadside was safe to show at any time as the bow of the ship was to fragile. Some of the players now just do not get it.

Nice video, I'm currently on the New Mex in that line but I'm slowly grinding a lot of lines at mid tiers right now. Must say, I'm a bit surprised your favourite isn't something like the Schlieffen.

Don't have Iowa yet, but I was able to get Missouri which has AFAIK the very same gun stats, and although the ship is no sniper, she is damn accurate even at the far ends of her module-extended range. The shells are slow, but they fly really close together IMHO, so if you fight a non-maneuvering target (hello Thunderer) and have the correct lead to it, it can be devastating... and the same is true for many other US battleships...

Great video my dude. I’ve been to BB Wisconsin as well. I was hammered and felt bad because the staff was so friendly and informative. I laid on a cot and almost fell asleep. I’d recommend going to visit.

Dude live in Philly and fish the river allot and being on the water looking at the battleship NJ is insane. I also frequent the Navy Yard area and the JFK was there and that is even crazier. Especially in a 16ft boat

Ships without gimmicks, that are well rounded will do well for many years.

I actually got to walk around on the USS Missouri ! Loved it very impressive and the reason I'm grinding her line.

I've seen the Massachusetts and the North Carolina both big ships i can't imagine the magnitude of the Iowa

I also visited the USS Iowa in LA. It certainly looks mightier in real life than in the game. They have partnered with world of warships and with the entrance they give you a tier IV ship (can't remember wich one) and some credits.

I was thoroughly looking forward to how a Nvesky can be a BB...

Good video. In real life the Iowa would have detected the Shima further out with her radar, shredded her with the multiple 127mm guns, and destroyed her all the while detecting the torps way ahead of time. I have had the Iowa a long time, put one of the Doe brothers on her as commander, but she still lacks the highly coveted radar only MO has, which is a dam shame. I cannot get the MO, or the other Iowa class ships as they are not offered. I don't play the Iowa much for the very reason at the end of your video, the DDs have too much advantage. Not complaining just discouraged a real life Naval ship is not given more to glorify her historical significance. Thanks for highlighting the ship SLM, i frankly don't know how you pump out so much great content so i salute you!. Cmdr-WSRamsey (game name and in honor of my dad USN Commander John W Ramsey and fighter pilot 1941-1963 Sundowners VF-11 and VF-111). One last thing WG should put the super-ships in a Korean War battle mode (T10s and super-ships can play in this, supers cannot play in T9 or below battles), just my opinion.

hey, I know its a little bit late but i just got Iowa and I have a question on how to minimize main battery dispersion? I got the last upgrade slot that reduces it by 11% but sometimes it's like I wouldn't have the upgrade installed

My highest damage game was in the Missouri. 309,000 and some change

This game does a diservice to Iowa class battleships, they had very accurate guns, radar assisted aiming that no other ship in that period even had yet in this game it's accuracy is shit.

I feel like WG should have made the American BB line work more like Slava just with the slower shells. Hard hitting accurate at a distance and good long range pen. That's how her armor scheme works so makes sense to me.

I'm proud of you it isn't a German BB or even a secondary BB your all grown up.

5 superships every game is the reason i have quit, a super cv is the end of the last little bit of fun i had with this game, it ended with me losing 3/4 of my hp on the nose of my yamma from a satsuma from 25km away.

That driveby at the end of the first game encapsulates everything wrong with dds in this game

mastering US BB Line, makes the other BB Line frustating. If you're used to US BB dispersion the other bb that can bring the same feeling of dispersion is japanese bb at long range, but still US BB line if you're used to it, you're spoiled by it.

I can't seem to not get citadeled with every single shot. Hit me in the booty? You get a citadel, hit me in the middle? You get a citadel! Hit me in the front? You get a citadel! Have really tiny guns? You get a citadel! Me shooting another Iowa at point blank range with AP right at his citadel? You get 6 rocochets!

It would be nice to have USS New Jersey as a long range sniper and USS Wisconsin as a secondary build similar to USS Georgia. They also need to buff Mo's heal to what the US BB's have now. But you know wargaming will never give us that.

They screwed the Missouri out of the improved heal 😞

Ive had the iowa for about 6 months to a yearish but i am still trying to get used to playing her. (I played on and off which explains why im still getting used to her) still trying to find a good set up.

I have something like a 73% win rate in this boat. It is one of my favs...

Interesting. For me Iowa has been a bit of a let down after the amazing North Carolina, which is by far my favourite ship of this line. Sure Iowa is alot faster and has more HP but its soo long and turns accordingly bad. And NC guns have been more reliable for me.

Submarines force you to manipulate your play style making your presence in the game less effective, therefore subs are more of a problem than superships.

OOPS! You put the Nevski ship/ Captain build instead of the Iowa's. But yeah, Iowa the OG nascar of a battleships and TECHNICLLY still the Fastest Battleship in the game BARRING SPEED BOOST.

Call me a simple weeb… when I first got Iowa I didn’t do so well with her and stuck with Bismarck… then AL collab New Jersey was added… now it’s one of my best ships who knew adding an anime waifu raised my skill level XD

I want Vanguard to be my favourite BB, but its possibly the most butchered and misrepresented real world ship in the game.

Unfortunately the jerkovs have ruined T9. Putting T9 ships against what are in effect OP pay to win T12 and T13 ships is pathetic, unfair and not fun.

I absolutely prefer NC to Iowa. Bow on, NC is tankier. Despite IA’s superior firepower, NC can, if played well, out perform her.

Brilliant ships in real life... Very underwhelming in game.

Super ships have ruined high teir game play, along with OP CVs and subs the game at tier 10 is unplayable.
