My thought exactly. Tolerable @ Tier VI, because there are other slow battleships and the maps tend to be smaller. Bringing a Standard up to Tier VII was a mistake. Understandable, since the devs at the time had more of a fascination with actual warships, and this is the only thing between the New Mexicos and the North Carolinas, but they could have made the guns more accurate.
I feel like they made California intentionally unplayable. There's no real solid positive about this ship. No way it's a low tier Monty. It's a low tier Vermont before the buffs and still worse.
Appreciate the video: I got the Florida (as a prize of some kind) and was wondering what California’s gimmick was. I do OK with Florida, and I think getting battle cruiser dispersion is an effective trade off for lower-caliber guns. The AP actually works fairly well because you can actually hit vulnerable areas. Since you get a spotter anyway, I think a better premium perk would have been to offer the accuracy mod rather than range.
They just counted gun barrels. . . If you could get in close (and you can’t with this armor scheme) the guns could do some serious damage, but that is not reality.
Poor Boggzy. Cool guy, trying to hang on to his dignity and integrity among the Confederacy of Dunces. But you have to make a living, and that almost always involves compromises.
Don't buy ANYTHING from Boggzy or Ahskance. Those guys sell obvious crap way too much to be relied upon for anything in game. They deserve to be mocked as much as you can get away with in politeish company.
