Divmate here. I was just helping out Ato a bit with his grind. I think we played two/three games on this tier ;) In the end I got killed because I did not have last stand on the captain, my repair was not up and my engine was out. Keep up the good work Jingles
I love how Jingles pronounces the Thai destroyer Phra Ruang as Farang which is the Thai word for foreigner, so to his credit he is speaking a Thai word just not the right one.
@@tpaktop2_1na depends.Phra is a relatively short sounding Pra (r sound almost omitted) it combines with the Ruang with Ruang being a second syllable...also most will have an L sound with the R sound...heard by a non-native speaker it will sound like Pa' Loowang

Can't tell of Rita streaming/screaming in background or Akizuki playing behind Jingles. Anyway, I enjoy dueling destroyers in low to mid tiers in BBs. Sometimes multiple at once. Doesn't always work, but when it does and all the cruisers, DDs, and BBs behind you charge in safe and sound it's a real FeelsGoodMan moment.
Love the British destroyers. Can be a little tricky trying to stealth torpedo. With all the smoke and decent guns that can make real headaches for opposing teams.
And this is why player retention has fallen off of a cliff since the carrier rework. OP tier 4 carriers slaughtering new players with no counter play options until they uninstall.

Yeah this whole "restarting from scratch" thing does not make me want to pick back up on trying to play this game. I was really, really bad at it without a sharp uptake in seal clubbers.
2 seconds in to the fight, it's already apparent that he's not the only player coming back to lower tiers, since he's radiolocated from the very start of the match (meaning that the other team most likely has a 14+ point captain).
I just started the british dd's for the first time because I just came back to the game. The tier 2 and 3 matches have been exciting. Got a kracken in the medea and confederate medal most xp carry in the valkyrie. So, yea, so far so good with the british dd's.
The top position of the Kawachi on the enemy team is actually no mystery if you pay attention to what they did. They spawned on the west flank, and spent the entire game there, while most of their team lemming trained to the east. The only support the Kawachi had in the west was one destroyer which went around the island into the gun sights of multiple enemies and died, and the Phoenix, which they team killed in its spawn location for being afk. The Kawachi was holding the western flank practically alone, and they not only survived, they defeated the push on that side. It was just not enough, since the lemmings who went east were busy feeding kills to AtotheK. The Kawachi did very well, and even team killing the afk Phoenix is understandable. Not right of course, but you can imagine their frustration.
In my age, a CV's aircraft sends 5 or 6 toprs in a line, which made avoiding torps hit very hard, but is fun. Can not remeber start from which version WoWs change it.
Henr Henr - I was playing a Japanese CV one time back when that old CV mechanic was still in effect, and I cross-dropped a spread of torps on an enemy BB... and he managed to avoid ALL torps approaching him on 2 different angles! Evading an old-style CV torp spread while on a BB is tricky enough, but this player was good enough (or lucky enough?) to completely escape a properly placed cross-drop. It was the first and only time I’ve ever seen it happen, so congrats to that player. 👌
A to the K 101 me thinks! Damn it Jingles you almost had me believing that ships at that level had no hydroacoustic search. Glad to see that a few players decided to use their non existent hydroacoustic consumables throughout the game. Don't change Jingles :)
I thought I was going to hate re-grinding my lines... but I rediscovered some of the lower-tier ships that are really *fun.* Zipping around like a maniac in the V-25, going yardarm to yardarm in the St. Louis... man there's some good stuff down there. And no @^&#% radar!
Seal-clubbing is rampant these days. I used to play Tier 4, but surviving more than 5 minutes has become increasingly rare. Nothing whatever to learn when that happens--it's all for the benefit of high tier players who are racking up really easy kills. Why World of Warships allows this, I can't imagine. It's very discouraging to see the game ruined this way.
I don't think this will last very long, as it's highly impractical to re-grind from tier III, the costs of commander re-training and fitting out the ships is too high to justify a few thousands free XP saved by actually doing the grind, most experienced players will skip directly to tier V or VI. It's just the temptation of sealclubbing, but this gets boring pretty fast, so things will go back to normal in the noob realms after a couple of weeks or so.
The point Mr. Finch is making here is that the game only lasts 5 minutes because all of his teammates are seal clubbed. That does not make the game fun, no matter how "gud" one is, unless you enjoy seal clubbing, in which case you are the problem. The other point is that new players are, in my humble opinion, getting discouraged much sooner and quitting the game much sooner. WoWS has essentially set up a system that has the potential of eating its own seed corn.
So, I recently played a tier 4 battleship (New York) and as the game neared the end it was me and a kongo at half health. All that was left was a one shot destroyer, and a half health new Mexico. The kongo shoots AP into the superstructure of the side on new Mexico. And dies, losing us the game.
Reminds me of the time I fought a few rounds of tier 1. Almost everyone from both teams were much more skilled than the newly recruited players. Every one of them were hiding behind icebergs and shooting over rocks.
The Hoshou is just an amazingly fun carrier. Accurate rockets, good torps, and okay bombs. I mostly use my Ryujou now since attacking ships whose AA is the captain pulling out his revolver and shooting the planes out the door is a bit scummy, but I never felt useless so long as I was in that ship. Langley in the other hand....
YAY new episode, let me guess, destroyer... it would be nice if there was an episode or 2 of a cruisers or BB’s, keep sailing jingle’s I’m still excited for the next WOWs episode
Yeah, that's one downside of the RB that I didn't think of beforehand. It used to be that when I started grinding out a new line of ships, I sucked with those new ships, but it didn't matter. Most people at tier 2-3-4 aren't that great with their ships. Now, if there is someone regrinding out there, you get very lopsided battles. Just this weekend there was one guy who raked in 8 kills. You could see from the way he moved and his efficiency that he knew what he was doing, and most of us didn't. I got killed 7 minutes in btw.
I'm experienced with high tier ships and i still regularly play my tier 3 premium, just because the clusterfuck that is low tier battles can be really fun :)
4 years ago I happily quit the deteriorating WOT after years of fun since 2012 and became a happy Beta WOWS player; a game that was superb fun at first but over time the rot started. It got worse and worse over time until the new Aircraft Carrier rules were the final straw for me. I now cannot be bothered and so 6 months ago I quit. I am back at WOT and now I only play non premium up to tier 7 to avoid losing money but mostly to avoid fighting the sci fi tanks at tier 10. Much happier now. Tier 4-7 with no money spent, no missions, just tank fun the way I WANT TO PLAY. Screw the grinds, find some great non premiums like the Matilda II, VK3001, Tiger I, etc. Play smart and have fun. This retraining WOWS gimmick is another nail in it's coffin.
I actually spent alot of time grinding in WoWS this weekend. Crappy computer combined with inexperience gives me a nice shade of pink for a good bit of the time
Jingles, I really think the more experienced players shouldn't go lower then T5 regularly, stressing regularly, once in a while is no problem. We just had an event in our clan that went on for 1 month and it was "let's see who can deal the most damage in a T3 ship". In other words, it was an organized seal clubbing competition. And when you see players with 19points captains on T3 ships (why not^^) and not simply playing for the lulz or because other reasons but simply to farm everything that gets spotted, well, let's say it escalated quickly... I mean when players don't know what RPF is and keep asking in chat "who the hell is using radar???" you feel like you're doing something you shouldn't really do.
*sigh* I guess I can blame Research for the sudden nose-dive of my longevity in all my T4/T5/T6 games. I know I'm not that good, but I didn't think I was that bad, either, from experience in rented T8 ships, and watching a lot of Jingles videos.
So far as I played low tier ships, the matchmaking is even crazier For example,one battle I was in the hosho along with 2 other CVs and 2 surface ships Total 3 carriers and 2 ships on each team
This resetting of the tech tree may lead to increased seal-clubbing, which may actually discourage and drive away what could have been the next generation of World of Warships players. Potentially, WG is shooting themselves in the foot here.
It would be nice to see experienced "re-grinders" actually mentoring and teaching less-experienced players in chat instead of seal-clubbing. Maybe this will be a benefit of the Research Bureau and will improve the game for all
Not necessarily, if one has enough free XP, you can zap tiers 1 through 6 since the Research points are only awarded to ships from tiers 6 through 10. I reset my French cruisr line I liked, but if I reset a line I don't like that much, I won't bother into playing the first tiers of let's say, British cruisers or British DDs. On the other hand, yes, if you regrind in priority the lines you like, there is a good chance you'll play them better, but really, the difference is if you play them well, you won't play a lot of games in those, one, two possibly three or four games, at best 10 games from tiers 2 through 5. So your impact is not that much higher than if you actually kept those ships prior to the reset and played them everyonce in a while to change your mind from the higher tiers. The real sealclubbers don't bother with high tiers and stay at low tiers with 12 k games at tier 1 not bothering going up.
WG development team - How can we make low tier battles more interesting?”, and a very smart man says “I know, let’s make ‘seal-clubbing’ an official part of the game, it’ll give all those bored higher tier players a chance to nip back down and give the newbies a hard time and not get insulted by everyone for doing so”.

Hm, so that Phra Ruang had at least a 10 point captain, since he was clearly the one that had the Radio Location skill, yet didn't appear to know that his torpedoes were incapable of hitting DDs. Either that, or he was hoping his opponent didn't know that and would be scared out of hiding by them. These days it just seems safer to assume they were an idiot.
Wait until you encounter a Hosho that gets Confederate, Kraken and 3 devastating strikes - that is seal clubbing. Thank fuck that seal clubber was on my team, it was disgusting to see. This match, AtotheK didn't do anything I haven't done in a T3 DD and I am a noob at this game, my best game so far with 4 kills was in a low level DD. I only started playing wows in May, and have only 250 matches in random battles.
Might just be me, but! is this the hidden downside of the Politburo or Research Bureau, low tier players copping a paddlin from WoWs inspired clubbers. For me, the jury is still well and truly out on this errr! "insentive"
Depends. If you are just after a fast grind, and you bring your 19 point captain down and through, then yeah there is a clubbing aspect. I'm using it as a chance to train up a new captain so began with a 3 point captain and that way the only advantage is skill/experience which may actually help others learn a thing or two.
@@ericrellik5838 Hey Eric, seal clubbing is seal clubbing no matter what excuse you use. This is a feeble attempt from WoWs to engage more experienced players with something new, at the risk leaving less experienced despondent from the results of constant floggings from Poliitburo players. At the end of the day, it holds the risk of loosing more up and coming players than older more brow beaten old salts from the lack of content. Surely a dedicated round or rounds for the self declared elite with the appropriate rewards, I know it's all been done before, so lets beat the crap out of the newer or lower tier players. Personally there is no joy in seal clubbing for a meager gain, what is it ? at least 3 times through a line to get a boat, and then there are those who can XP their way through, what a bloody disaster and failure
The Kawachi, that dispersion is so lousy that if you can see a friendly at all when you fire you are more likely to hit it than the enemy you aim at. They should really have mercy on starting BB players with how crap that ship is.

removing team damage for what? Those that deliberately TK are punished accordingly, and it provides a strategic advantage for the opposing team. They can position themselves to use your allies as a torpedo deterrent. as for CV's, why would it make any sense for the planes to just stop working after the carrier is sunk? Are the pilots actually drones, not capable of thinking and breathing on their own?
@@newman8r45 no one with a rational thinking brain agrees it's fun or good for players to be griefed because someone else can't or won't play the game right. It's not about if "they" "get punished" "for it" but that someone was done wrong to by another wrongly in a way that cannot happen yet somehow can, they didn't choose or do. Team Damage simply flatly doesn't work or have a place in (public) Team Based Multiplayer games, such some nobody kid without your consent can greif you without permission no matter the excuses. . . And it's not a feature of functional or most other Team Based games. (WG are though are said to be catching on though slowly) *such those doing it still have what would have been done tracked. If people want "Realism", A) there are other games that B) allow for more custom private matches. These games should not outside of closed games modes should not. If you think it's fun to get ganked or griefed by random bad playing kids w/o consent, that's on that player. Rational people don't want it in their Open/Public games. Rational players agree. And it due time WG are said to be catching on, slowly removing it from WoT and in modes in WoWs. (most other Team Based online games already not having it.)
I think its fun when you use your positioning to outplay people by either stopping them from torping you or torping their teammate. Removing team damage will just encourage the bad players to spam torpedos regardless of where there team is. It reinforces complacent gameplay. It also would remove the discouraging feature (the punishment system) from the game, leaving the players that are just goofing off to just shoot each other without any effect. In operations there is no team damage and i occasionally have a team with a couple guys that just launch their torps or fire randomly at each other because they can and it often results in them not having a good impact in the match. The last thing i want is this same behavior running rampant in the PVP modes. Having the threat of team damage encourages players to be more aware of everything going on around them, including what their team is doing. Back to the planes issue you have, would you then agree that any torps launched by a dd or shells fired should just disappear if the ship that fired them is destroyed before they reach the target? Having the planes just dissapear after the carrier is sunk wouldnt make any sense.
