The Duncan and the Scarlet do have some other differences based on looking at your video. The Duncan has different main gun mounts that offer a 6 second faster turret traverse, a lower max dispersion, and 35mms more of armor pen for her HE. Another thing I spotted is that the Duncan has 155mm single purpose secondaries while the Scarlet has 133mm dual Purpose secondary batteries (which give her a better AA rating) (This is just from what I saw in the video. Not sure if your Duncan is stock so the numbers may be a bit different from what I was able to see.) Also, Its the Caspian Sea Monster camo, and I think it looks great, but taking a Soviet Russian Plane that could fly using ground effect and making a camo for a British Battleship(cruiser?) is kinda bold and weird to me. I would love some of these kinds of camos to be Linkable camos like the 5 epochs camos so we can choose a ship for them. This camo on a Leningrad goin 53kts would be FIRE lol
Finally got lucky and got her on the first bundle. Pretty solid package, i liked the Duncan and this ship is a good sidegrade . Also the camo is amazing, it is actually one of the new active ones, when you get spotted the front tower starts spinning and glowing and when you pop the heal little repair drones start going up and down the sides, really cool!
It showed up in some box. I really didn't recall. It's okay, good at long-range spaming. I like the funky camo. It definitely needs the extra heal. Not one I'll play a lot, but it's definitely a viable addition to my collection.
What you do notice is that the HE pen on the S Thunder is capable of penning German Premium T9 cruiser belt amour, while the same cannot be said of the Duncan. Which also means all deck armour can be penned on battleships which is very interesting in terms of the ability of the ship to do HE pen damage if you can avoid BB main guns and hit the deck. Lack of super heal and torps, means this ship isn't one for close combat. Need to do a cit compare between duncan and S Thunder to really appreciate the difference between these ships.
Coming back to report I got my first container ship drop last night after watching this vid, so I got some of that sea lord luck for once lol. Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

Got this ship in my Santa's delivery today! Very excited. Thought it was a Thunderer for a second, but then I saw the model in its permanent camo. I won't be running it with that skin.
Much like other here, I got lucky and got the SC on my 2nd bundle, the thing with the Scarlet Thunder that makes me love it personally is the fact that its a little more meta friendly. You *can* go up close and personally being reasonably tanky, but you can also hang at range throwing shells at the water, I love both the duncan and SC, SC is more consistent in exchange for better performance in fine tuned situations which makes the Duncan more fun, but the Duncan lacks the consistency due to lack of armor and among other things, an awkward playstyle if you want to utilize all of the ship's abilities.
Mine was in the very first bundle. Took me a minute to realize I was going to get a tier 9 BB for 2000 dubs. Practically free! Don’t usually get that lucky…
Good thing about the ekrano-camo is that it covers everything, including small stuff like AA guns. I wanted to buy Cathedral camo for Bismarck, but i was always put off by the fact, that it didnt change secondary turrets, AA guns, etc.
The funny thing is I did 8 pulls since all I wanted was the Preussen skin and got Scarlet Thunder and well i guess there goes all my luck for mommy jingliu.
the lack of torpedoes is kinda sad, the British battle-cruisers at tier 9 and 10 get insane Alpha of 29k damage per torpedo, with them having less then one minute reload times. while Duncan has 26mm bow and stern plates, i find that even if ships over-match your bow, many ships don't get bow on citidels, the pen damage can be restored with the super-heal, and its slim hull from my experience at long and medium range is hard to hit.
Generate more convertible XP. I have to FXP through lines in order to get reviews out for them in time. Of course I wouldn’t suggest the average Joe do that
I don’t think I’ll get this ship, already have the Lion (very good in my opinion) and am getting close to the Duncan. I’ll see if I can pick up the Leipzig because she looks quite interesting.
But you're not sacrificing maneuverability for the added protection. Base ST has nigh on four seconds faster rudder shift over the Duncan with the same speed and turning circle of an upgraded Duncan. The 32mm plating is a simple trade for the improved heal as far as I can tell. And no, the Vanguard did not start life as a Lion class. We've discussed this. Off memory, two Lion classes BBs were laid down and stalled to direct resources and manpower to other assets given the nature of the Battle of the Atlantic at the time. Believe it was Lion and Temeraire, the first two of a planned six. After some time, and several revisions to the design as lessoned were learned (Hood), the design was eventually scrapped as it became clear the war was drawing to an end and these ships were no longer required, the USN had things in check with the IJN and the German capital ship presence was all but negated. Some materials were transferred to Vanguard, much of the armour plating and such was scrapped. But Vanguard itself was more a scaled down, budget friendly ship, in essence, a compromise, despite being an excellent and grossly underrated ship in her time.
The special camo on it is so Russian it screams "special military operation" to me. I ain't doing the random grab deal crap to get her personally. If she was the first pull though its prolly worth the 2k dubs.
Is she had a super heal, she would be pretty good also her guns are apparently the same as those in the lion, not the Duncan - the rest of her is visually the same as Duncan
Sweet lord, "the Scarlet Thunder" is probably the most un-British name they could come up with! The Royal Navy has had thousands of warships, some of them with really cool names, and those drunken madmen at Wargaming come up with "Scarlet Thunder"? What is that even supposed to mean? A thunder is a sound phoenomenon, how can sound be scarlet? I don't know what drugs Wargaming are on, but ever since they came up with WW2-era diesel-electric subs that travel at 30 knots and outturn destroyers, not much can surprise me any more.

Since the S Thunder is in gambling container I will base. To me it is a mediocre ship. I picked up the Leipzig. It is a fun tier VI ship that can stealth torp (8.7 detect range, torps 10 KM range, 61 second reload). Maybe the S. Thunder will come out in the Santa Containers.

Anyone here know what the best premium ship for console is the best for grinding? Trying to get the teir 7 secondary german battlecruiser line, got the teir 7 battle cruiser unlocked but stuck on mackensen til i get the 9 mil, looking new money making tactics. Any tips? At this point will have to grind 90 battles and not for it. Looking for alt options
Meh, got it in the first bundle and had 2k dubs for free from a container but I'm not going to bother. If it kept the speed boost maybe, but as it is, pass.
Cash grab for sure, why would you pay for a tech tree ship that only has the label of premium. WG is known well for it's monetization which is garbage level of scam.
The main reasons are the Premium bonus and the ability to assign any Captain at no cost. If one doesn't plan on playing her very much then yes it's definitely not worth it.
@@rickwiggins283 that is the only reason remained of most Premium ships now, if you want to know what they were worth and the reason behind buying them check older ones not these new ones, the likes of Scharnhorst, Mainz, Tirpitz, Roma/Kii,, Flandre, they used to bring something on the table that you wouldn't find exactly on the tech tree, otherwise freemium ships would do the exact same thing and they are just as good for captain training.
