First, a couple of downsides you forgot with the Agincourt : ZERO AA, you were lucky not to have a CV in that game; and she rivals the USS Colorado as a sloth when it comes to speed. The USS Boise : if you read James Hornfischer's NEPTUNES' INFERNO he describes what the Boise went through off Guadalcanal and therefore why she gets a superheal.
It's terrible, no AA whatsoever and super slow, carriers eat that thing alive. I'd rather get Oktober Revolution, not only does it have decent AA, but it also takes almost no HE damage.

Not quite, both Indy and DM have 10km radar, and Indy's is up for about 10 sec left, That being said, I was extremely happy when they buffed her up to 25mm ends, making her able to do what Pensi can do a tier lower, and what New Orleans and Yorck in the same tier, be the only cruisers at tier that can bounce 11" to 14" without ice breakers and praying for a angled belt hit

The Kongo is a great T5 BB. I have 5 of them 😮 (4 freebees). You don't need to put a camo on her. If you go to the gear icon at the top right of the ship pick list at the bottom of the screen and select custom ship, you can turn off the Arpeggio camo's and you have a decent camo left behind. Try it out. It also works for Azur Lane ships. Great Video sea lord
Thanks for the instruction on the ARP and AL ships' camos. I bought an AL Littorio on sale cheap (same price as ARP Hiei) a while back; though its camo isn't bad it's still a little loud. But the ARP Yamato that just dropped for me from a combat mission container...that neon stuff has got to go. Using your instruction, my Littorio is back to a basic Regia Marina style camo and the Yamato is now a greenish camo pattern, or I can just turn that off, too and get basic haze gray.
Schlieffen still have a higher effective secondary dpm. Good luck hurting someone with those 76mm secondaries even at T5 (13mm pen, awful balistic, very long flight time compared to the 152mm secs).
For the number 1 pick I think I'd honestly have to suggest people go with Mutsu instead if you really want that 406mm+ overmatch. Sure you lose out on some AP pen, but gain the ability to have a dispersion mod, with the same sigma the same size guns, and Mutsu also has some self defence torpedoes and a higher top speed, being 5.5 knots faster. At least going off of the Canadian prices Mutsu is also ever so slightly cheaper than WV41, making her more budget friendly. As another suggestion for the number 1 slot, Dunkerque, considerably cheaper than WV41 or Mutsu, you lose out on the larger guns yes, but you have all guns front, and French AP pen, meaning your 330mm guns, pen nearly as much as WV41s 406mm guns, while also having a fairly big range advantage and a faster reload and muzzle velocity making it easier to land your shells. The nearly 30knot top speed is also a fairly big benefit. Ise is another contender, more expensive sure, but 2.1 sigma on fairly decent guns, and being a hybrid you do get the torpedo bombers that are more scary looking than effective, but can be used to make ships turn to give your rather accurate main guns a nice juicy broadside to shoot at. Could really list nearly every T6 BB off though, I just don't like American BBs before T9. Warspite and Repulse are good options, Novorossiysk is fairly good, all of them being cheaper and basically equally or more effective than WV41. The only real selling point to me about WV41 is that it's not New Mexico. It should also be noted that both Yubari and Texas are basically always on special for everyone, Yubari being a really fun T4 CL that will make you wish more ships had aiming systems mod 0, and while Texas isn't great, she's sub $10 for a T5 premium and is the American premium BB I could suggest people pick up if they are on a budget. In the context of a T5 BB Texas is still a solid ship, and while yes she is weaker main gun wise to the tech tree T5, at least she does still have something different about her compared to the tech tree ship unlike the ARP Kongo's. So I'd say at the very least Texas should be number 2 on the list just for her low price if nothing else. You can also get Oklahoma for free via a collection as a T5 American BB, can't say it's really worth it unless you really like the idea of a 38 second reload on guns that can't pen some cruisers with their AP meaning you are spamming HE the entire time, oh but you've got improved secondaries.
I have all but the Boise, nouve. I actually got them all for free, the we ve in last years Independence Day event, the Weimar in the soccer thing, gin palace from Jutland containers and Kongo by grinding. They are some of my favourite ships, especially Weimar.
Okothnik, Leningrad, Sims, Blyskawica ( though she is far from the unicum maker she was on release ), Arizona, Warspite, Aigle, Molotov, Galant, Anshan, Okt. Revolution, Kirov, Exeter, Murmansk, Katori, Yubari........ All 'decent premiums' at least when I was still playing so some are probably very much out of meta. But all of these are capable of performing, some have a high skill floor so baddies should stay clear but it will reward a player who can think and breath at the same time. Most lower tier premiums are perfectly fine, even 'out of meta', since you're going seal clubbing the low tier players anyway so handicapping yourself might actually result in a lot more fun. Katori is ... slow, no dpm and no armor... but she has that accuracy and range ( more then babyboats even ) .. so it CAN be so much fun burning the low tier babies from range... where even if you ARE in range, low tier baby dispersion is usually enough to make sure you don't insta deleted. Same with Crispy Cream, it's actually not a 'good' ship but it can be so much fun. Premium Omaha variants are EXCELLENT in getting those sweaty hands, in good and in bad games. Floating citadel but you have some dpm / range depending on variant. Low / mid tier DD's are perfectly good trainers ( to many credit reworks since I stopped playing so not sure what their credit income is atm ). Sims has the best built-in game xp modifier. I agree on the Kongo btw, it's just that anyone who been playing for a while probably already has multiple Kongo's in their port. For a BabyBoat main your list lacks your arch nemesis, which is a shame because there are enough affordable lolibotes.

Honestly, the Hood is nice pick. While I got mine for free, I got admit, the Hood is super fun to play. Tier VII is a nice spot to be in, you get mostly down and mid tier matches. Hood is really good if you play her agressively, her speed allows you to push in and apply A LOT of pressure early on. Bear in mind that you might survive 5 minutes, but they will sure be WILD 5 minutes
When I finished the Fleet of Fog combat missions, the final mission got me two ARS Nova containers. For earlier combat missions in the series, the containers had only been dropping the gray economic bonuses. For the last mission, the second container did the same, but the first container dropped an ARP Yamato with a 10 pt. commander. I've never gotten more than a T8 ship from any combat mission reward before, and that only once in over six years (Ochakov, or maybe Ochakov was in a free Santa container, IDK). I looked in the armory and ARP Yamato is selling for almost $140 and it only comes with a 3 pt. commander. You do get the special 30 day combat mission that gets you 200% XP of all kinds in each battle if you buy it, but...free is really nice. RNG smiled on me for a change. I just get sick of all the negative chat comments when they see an ARP Yamato. They assume you are just pay to win. Now I've got to figure out how to turn off that goofy neon camo. BTW, I just looked at the Premium Shop on the WoWs website and you can get an ARP Musashi for $26 before applying any coupons.
Irony with arp hiei is that the kongo model is actually based around hiei, wg never really remodeled kongo actual superstructure since beginning of wows
I have multiple Kongos which i never play for one main reason. They splatter shells all over the map. You can miss a cruiser at 8 KM while firing a full broadside.
I have the WV44 and Wisconsin. I had a French CV and hated it, so I sold it. My "test drive" of the Florida was a five loss streak, when I'm around 50% or so in U.S. battleships, a little better recently. I got all the Independence Day tokens for the California stuff. But I'm not buying doubloons to buy the ship. I'd kind of like to have it, but no more cash for the game. I joined a clan last week. Goung to focus on improving my game, and playing to build the clan. My credit boosters were all used up by the weekend, so I'm working on other ways to earn more. I don't think I'll spend more cash on the game unless possibly the Tennessee and New Jersey are premium ships I need to spend cash for, and maybe not then. So I'm above 50% recent win rate, I have a few ships researched and no credits for them. Don't see where wargaming needs my cash. My premium I purchased during the Wisconsin grind expires on the 5th. Including a few free days I have earned. Probably won't have premium after that. I'll just have to play better to play for free.

I don’t mind spending a little bit of money here and there on the game if it is a good deal. If nobody spent money, then the game would shut down and at the end of the day I really do enjoy the game. An occasional dockyard or battle pass is worth it to me.
Same here. It's a hobby, and when I look at what other hobbies people have, I'm not spending extravagantly. As long as I feel good about buying something and not like there's tension over it.
I forget how I acquired Agincourt...it is a fun ship though. Weimar I have as well...again, a fun play. I have Boise and Nuevo...the heal is great. Hiei is a good deal and as said, easy to swap out the camo if you want a less flashy skin. I like Wee-Vee '41. It works well in most modes that allow Tier VI.
I love playing my IJN hybrid BB ISE, think it is creeping up there with my Dunkerque for most played Mid Tier BB. Also the Dunkerque is an awesome BB in my opinion. Also took advice for Kongo Premium thanks.
The one ship I would legitimately recommend spending money on is the Ark Royal. For coal: Okt Revolution and Blyskawica are both really good. OH, for the brief time I had it as a rental, I _loved_ the Mainz! Edit 1: Well, if you're going to include Kongo, allow me to suggest Cleveland. You can get the bonus package _and_ a somewhat patriotic permanent camo for free. And dang it she's a good ship. Edit 2: Ok, if you know what you're getting into with WV 41's speed. Yeah, she's great. Worth it.
Instead of Weimar, I would say get the Munchen. A bit more solid, and with a base 5 second reload, you will pop Lutjen's 'get 140 main battery hits' talent a lot.
How could you forget to mention that Agincourt is a 'real steel' ship that fought at Jutland? The RN turret naming scheme broke down for a ship with several midship turrets, so they were named for the days of the week. After Jutland, one RN admiral commented that every time Agincourt fired a 14 gun salvo, she looked like an exploding battlecruiser. I am one of many who completed the mission chains and received ARP Kongo, ARP Hiei, ARP Kirishima, ARP Haruna, and the ARP Myoko all for free. Back when it was still 'The Operation of the Week', the West Virginia '41 was a fun ship to use for the tier VI ops. The WV41 was given away for free for some event (second Puerto Rico dockyard event?)
I don't like T5, mostly you just get to club seals. Fine for a new player, but I don't think a new player should buy a premium ship right away. At T6 there are lots of "good" (as in "interesting/unique") premium ships. Some of my favorites: Monaghan - US torpedo boat (or gunboat, but not very unique in that configuration) DD with a reload booster, quite strong and always a surprise for the enemy. Molotow - not an easy ship to play since it blows up if looked at funny, but played right the guns are great fun. Dunkerque - surprisingly reliable battlecruiser, one of the more fun to play low-tier BBs. Perth - strong and easy to play ship, smoke, great concealment, torps, hydro, it has everything. T7 is generally more challenging, not a great place in the meta because T8 is just so much stronger (thicker plating, fifth upgrade slot). I wouldn't recommend a (currently available) T7 premium over a T8 premium despite the price difference. Waiting for a sale is generally good advice; AL Littorio (Roma) was available for about 8€ a while ago, something like that is a solid credit farmer and a good ship.
Molotov has a high skill floor but having tier 9 guns at tier 6 helps a lot. Perth is also a higher skill floor, but rewarding ship. With that I mean you can be useless and sit behind an island like any other cruiser all game and win as many times as the coin tos falls your way, but to play it well and actually have a good influence on the game it requires decent situational awareness.
No DDs on the list!? Tell us you are a BB main without saying the words. Lol You left out the Simms. US DD with a baked in XP bump that lets you save a star a lot of times in ranked. Or to train commanders. 2 torpedos sets the sea mines or the short ranged hard hitting ones. Great smoke . Oh and cheap at $21.20 USD.
What are people’s thoughts on the t7 Hyuga? I played WoW Blitz for years before I switched to playing PC version on my steam deck. On Blitz Hyuga used to be hands down the most OP beast in the game and you could literally get its reload to sub 10 seconds by using the reload booster…and it was accurate! I’m sure it’s not that good on PC, but is it worth investing in?
I love Warspite, and I will die on this hill :) Sooooo good guns, turn on a dime, and at least it is faster than American BB's at the same tier. Only unfortunate thing is that it is tier 6. Would also mention Kid, that is the cheapest tier 8 as I recall by quiete a far margin, can also get for coal or from the 3K community point boxes , and it is also a very good tier 8 dd. honoroable mention - texas tier 5 american BB. I personally hate it due to being to slow, but it is usually for sale at less than half the price of an agincourt, and acording to server stats it performs well enough.
Played since Beta but haven't and never will buy a premium ship outright, played enough to get majority of the decent coal ones, and they are fun enough!
Regarding Kongo. Why wouldn't somebody just buy the premium economic bonus package for her and have done with it? I don't see the point in paying doubloons or dollars for a tech tree ship no matter how good it is.
Was disappointed when I won Weimar in a crate - she's now my most played ship...... :) A little gem. Also have three(!) ARP versions of Kongo (all from crates) - my LEAST-played ships.... :(
ARP Kongos are NOT premiums ! They don't have the credit and XP bonuses. That being said, Kongos are excellent for this tier with their speed that allows you to chose the distance and time of engagement on your own terms although, accuracy wise, it's not that good. But if you are out of position, the ship's speed allows you to get back into the game fast enough, unless you play against bots which means a fast defeat or a steamroll in approx 5 minutes... Or did they change the economy of the ARP Kongos? Because when I got them, they were just reward ships and not true premiums which baffled players at the time. As for low tiers cruisers you have the Premium version of the St Louis : Charleston (available in the armoury for coal), Aurora and Diana, those are slow but have good range and can troll torpedoes with excellent maneuverability. Agincourt has no AA but can be fun if there are no CVs in the MM. Premium T5 BB you have to get apart from October Revolution is Giulio Cesare... OP !!! Fast, nimble, deadly, if you play it right it's the ultimate DD and cruiser killer and can deal a lot to BBs too but you better not be broadside on or be the primary focus of a T6 or 7 BB. If you are Top tier on Solomon Islands, that thing absolutely rocks everything. It's one of the best investment you can make at this tier. WV41 does very well in Ranked or Brawls despite it being so slow -maps are smaller so that helps. Its 16' guns pack a punch. Sims is still a good DD for T7. Okhotnik is very powerful but difficult to pilot because of its size, it's not nimble but it's armed the teeth. 7 guns and 4x3 torps !!! Gremyaschchy is also a good T5 DD, like Leningrad, has twice as much torp range than the tech tree counterpart Gnevny. T6 also features Warspite. It's a little squeashy but if you know how to aim, its guns are legendary. Arizona is also a nice pick you have next to no AA but its guns are a tad more accurate than New Mexico's guns. Indianapolis is also a solid pick, has T8 cruisers features for tier 7 such as radar and a lot of range... it's nearly a little Alaska, tier for tier. T7 also gives Nelson wich can be nice but quite vulnerable at times, especially from the side and air attacks but it has 9x16' guns all on the front.
I play on premium time and get coal ships and premiums from containers. So don't spend real money on just ships, just be patient and you will get premium ships for free. I've been playing for 18 months now (mediocre player) and I have 105 ships in total of which 27 premium plus 6 special (T10) and I spent like 2.5 € on them to actually get the T3 Dreadnought and T3 Campbeltown via a Steam "sale", just because I really wanted Dreadnought (played a couple of times but zero victories :-() because of it's historical significance. Agincourt, Weimar = got them for free from containers. WV41 = from combat mission I play Weimar with changing success in Ranked but hardly ever in Random. Don't really use Agincourt or WV41. Kongo = Is a fun ship and I play it regularly. Why spend money if you can get it easily for free, you win premium bonus packages once in a while and can put it on Kongo if you want. You will also win permanent camo's and can put them on your ships if you like. Neuve de Julio/Boise = horrible opponent but would like to have it :-)
I like Repulse, too. Real steel ship, looks good, fast, big guns for her tier. I keep hearing how great her guns are, but I haven't seen it. I find her guns extremely frustrating, with wonky dispersion she shouldn't have with only six guns. And she doesn't have torps, unlike her other Brit battle cruiser counterparts.
F2P games have the disadvantage of bitter brokies like you casting shadow whenever they can. It's a company that produces a product I enjoy, that costs money to make and maintain, why not spend money on them? Get better at making money.

I was a whale 4/5 years ago... sold my loaded account and am free to play. 1.6k battles in 4 years with 25 free premium ships. Superships, match making, money focused events.... glad I sold and barely play. 🤷♂️ people spend money on things that are good products.... WG doesn't make those
I can't support the purchase of overpriced extremely low effort minor DLCs. There are games out there that sell a cute little pet for $5 that took more dev time to create something original. Here we get copy and paste with a gimmick slapped on or a color change, yet they sell it for the price of two or three brand new AAA games that took years to develop.

The best way to make sure you get a tier 6 game with aircraft carriers is to play the Angincourt which has no AA AT ALL. ZERO. ZIP. NADA. You will be immediately targeted by any decent CV player for farming XP with no cost to them
