Omg made my day once again, Zao player here, just want to take a moment to tell you the moment the Schlieffen, came round the corner I knew I was dead, until the moment happened. I was left speechless for a few seconds as to why I was taking a breather on the island. Actually Jingles that wasn't a spotter aircraft ;p it was fighter Btw the Zao is amazing, and the kaga is cringe Once again Jingles Thanks you so much for taking the time out of your day for showing my replay to the world, Love ya always ^^ one of the most intense games I've played in all my 9 years of playing this game.
LOL...great game...but you really should have triggered that heal after you reefed the Schlieffen as soon as possible. I bet you still had tunnel vision going on as the adrenaline wore off...so the delay is understandable, but Jingles is 1000 percent correct that there is no point to delaying using your healing consumable. 💯😁
Good game! I did find the salty tears of the Schlieffen and the Friedrich der Große down here in the mines, and I can tell you it is premium quality salt, our overlord will be pleased.
The frustration of him savouring his heals like a dragon (which could have been him getting the moste out of AR, like another commenter states) pales in comparison to Norris not using his 'Submarine surveillance' consumable when it was 100% certain he was being spotted by the only submarine on the enemy team... This captain knows how to get blood boiling
@@rrz464No only if it's surfaced. Sub surveillance works at every depth expect fully surfaced. Radar only sees it if it's surfaced and hydro on the surface, periscope depth and underwater at 2km or less
"-Added to the game in Update 0.2.2.5 (alpha) under the name Senjo. -Update 0.3.0: renamed to Zao." looks like its name was changed during the alpha test
not using a heal until the last second is a way to squeeze every drop of damage out of adrenaline rush. Its what its named for after all, the lower you keep yourself the better you'll do. But it takes a truly skilled player to manage it efficiently and know when and where to use it properly. Glad to still have you around Jingles, been watching you forever and you always make my day. :) Keep up the fantastic work you crazy ole gnome.
First ever episode i believe. The line was preceded by Rik saying to Vivian " You facist junta Vivian" then the greatest line as quoted. - You missed both my legs
@@norrisplays1948 If you run Adrenaline rush, which everyone does, then that's the wiser course of action as it keeps damage up. But only if you're skilled enough to know when that's acceptable. :) Great show!
That close quarter brawl between the Zao and the Schlieffen, seeing that torp pass inches behind the stern of the Zao at 5:32 ... that will be some salty Schlieffen tears in the mines today. Had he lauched them a little bit more towards the islard Norris would have been dead. Time to earn an extra shift or two 12:37 Jingles: "He's coming back with Torpedo Attack Planes", wait what, are Torpedo Attack Planes a thing now? I thought that it were either Rocket Attack Planes or Torpedo Bombers, but I guess it will be Rocket Bombers and Torpedo Attack Planes from now on. Our evil overlord has spoken. Use the heal Norris, use the heal. Nice Star wars reference there 🙂
8:00 compliments on the pronounciation of "Groningen", best i have ever heard from a britisher. Apart from the Hindenburg, i also always liked the Roons kiting ability. My best games with the Roon was alone on an abandoned flank and slowly retreating, staying at 15+km, duking both rudder and speed. Though yeah, the guns are not as good as the Zao, nor the torps. But having 2 turrets at the back and only one in front reduces the tempation to give too much broad side.
It's probably because he lived for a few years in South Africa as a child and learned some Afikaans, which is a variant of Dutch, so he has more of a clue how Dutch words should sound as opposed to the rest of us "Britishers" 😁
@@jcorbett9620I also guess that being a part of the radio staff might mean you come across the Dutch Navy, along with people who actually speak Dutch and know how to pronounce it properly
Fun story: Keith Flint of 'The Prodigy' owned and partly ran a small pub called 'The Leather Bottle' in Pleshey, Essex. In said pub, Flint kept a "swear jar" above the fireplace. Whenever he put logs or kindling in and anybody piped up with obvious jokes about 'a Firestarter', he'd charge the patron a quid.
According to the WoWs Wiki the Zao actually was no full replacement, but simply a renaming of an existing ship: A cruiser named Senjo was renamed and since then on has been the Zao. This renaming happened in update 0.3.0. So yeah: It´s very early on in the developement of WoWs, that´s true.
Now i have to go and watch Bottom. Thanks for the laughs at that reference and also for inspiring me to watch my favourite live performance they did. Then i'll get back to the saltmine.
@@trex9263 he approves your dedication in the mines completely completing your shifts before watching the video. We salt miners have a great community with our evil and benevolent overlord at the top.
They reused the line in a Bottom Live (I think the 2nd one) in that one Eddy does hammer Richy in the Balls with a Cricket bat. Bottom had some of the best physical comedy ever
I did enjoy the entire IJN cruiser line, really, once upon a time when I still played this game. I don't remember there being any particular stinker in the line (even the Ibuki at T9 served me pretty well), all of them enjoyable in their own way. And indeed, the Zao was awesome. I played it a bit in the last legs of the stealthfire era, but even after that it was enjoyable to play.
It is my go to - comfort ship. Not always winning, but most of the time i still have fun. It can take a beating and you can hunt subs and it is agile as hell so even cvs can´t just destroy you on sight. (minus super cvs, thats another story)
The only real downside of the IJN CA line is that your practically feel like you're playing the same ship from Myoko to Ibuki unless you run 155s on Mogami.
Man, ya'll remember when the Schlieffen first came out? Before WG "fixed" her secondaries? When you could be behind cover against Schlieffen and those damn things would be firing damn near vertical to hammer you? That sh!t was so annoying.
Sure, but you need to balance that against having some survivability, and 5k health on a cruiser is essentially no survivability as any stray BB AP round can easily send you back to port.
Especially with that last heal, it makes a lot of sense to hang onto it since hurrying the cooldown to unlock the next heal isn't a factor. So getting faster reload rates at the risk of dying due to a high alpha strike is the question the captain must ask themselves.
Hey Jingles, If this is Chuck Norris, his heal doesn't recover his own health (cause no need), it just drops the Hit points pool on the enemy team... Don't you know that? He was just being nice to them by not using it too soon!
Aside from getting AR, Norris might be running the damage assistant mod which tells you when your heal will heal the full amount or near to it. With the amount of AP that Noris took he might have never been able to get the full amount out of the heal and wasn't paying much attention to it.
Common Norris! Who do you think you are, Chuck???? HEAL yourself! BTW great game and that Schlieffen going to have nightmares about their play. Thanks Jingles!!!
Hi Jingles, you forgot that this is Chuck Norris. He doesn't need heals and even if he would use one, it wouldn't work, because if Chuck Norris uses a heal, he doesn't get healed. The heal would get Chuck Norrised!
Jingles, you can kills CVs with subs just fine. You just must not get spotted, or ping them. Or shoot outside their ASW range, which is usually lower than torp range on subs of the same tier. CV plane spotting is much bigger thread to a sub.
Probably said by others in the comments but Norris might be running the mod that tells him the optimum time to use his heal, he might not get more back, but he might have been waiting to get the *most* out of the heal (I run this mod)
Some just forget fast. Not checking consumables, hp, minimap, loading tines for gun/torps. Spotting distances, where enemy is going, who can shoot at you, who can you shoot etc. But there is room to learn
it's not that the CV wasn't even aware that there is a sub... the sub was not spotted during the game AT ALL, until the CV auto asw sunk her and the wreck became visible on the minimap. weegee...
It is s half-true regarding CVs and Subs. WG will protect CVs from Noob Subs players who think they should YOLO rush on surface or use pings, in which case of course CV will launch not just fully automatic but also AI targeted Headshot-Aimbot ASW that will ensure direct hits (which you never get when a human launch them for some reason). But if Sub player has skill, he will use ping outside of CV ASW range which will then trigger CVs DCP (so it wont be up when torps hit) and then he pushes the CV and nukes him with untargeted torps from outside 3 km range from periscope.
I used to love playing Zao before they nerfed the legendary module rudder shift, then they eventually ended up having to buff it again but their imagination ended at just giving more HP rather than bringing back the rudder shift....
"Uhm, achtually Jingles..." I know you questioned the Iowa's decision as to why he's a bounty, but there's also good reasons If you perform certain actions as a Bounty (sink enemy ships, survive the battle, etc.), you can get Red Tokens to get some goodies.... But enough of my prattling; to the Salt Mines I go....
Akhtually, Jingles, I do believe he will get more use out of his last heal if he keeps it for later. Since you can heal back a % of the damage you have taken, if he uses it instantly, he might heal a thousand health. But if he uses it after taking more damage, he might get 1500 out of it.* *I pulled those numbers out of my ass to illustrate the point.
And he can also easily end up being rushed by another suicidal enemy on low health and a single heal. It is a situational and risky strategy to stay on low health just because "you can heal more hp if you take more damage". Of course losing 1k hp is not a big deal, but if you are already let's say half hp and you can only heal 5k instead of the 15k potential, why waiting? You only make yourself a much more juicy target. Especially if there's a CV in play who has the hots for you. You can't hide from a CV sadly. Without smoke anyway.
Unpopular opinion, serves the people who complained about the original cvs right. At least the original cv players got punished for playing incorrectly and a 'good' cv driver was worth their weight in gold.
Yeah I miss the original CVs, they were at least fun to play and still not too bad to play against. And you could actively hunt down enemy aircraft with fighters instead of that stupid consumable
Only ever got as far as Bogue before the change but damn do I miss RTS CVs. AA mattered, CVs were rare, and effective CVs had an impact on the flow of the game rather than just bullying individual ships.
@errorcrj110 I miss my Bogue. They just took it from me without giving anything in return. AA also matters nowadays, but only if it's a CV that got uptiered. I recently played a round where T6 CVs were the only T6 ships in the match, against only T8 ships. The planes got absolutely deleted, even by single ships.
@@rowdy6274 True. Playing T8 CVs in operations (because I feel kinda bad bullying players) is terrible against T9/10 bots that tear your planes to shreds
@@errorcrj110 totally, I also dislike using them against players. I've used the Midway in an operation a few days ago and even that got shredded. It wasn't like that 2-3 years ago
"The Guns (of Zao) have very good range..." LOL. THAT is the biggest nerf Zao got after the commander rework. Either you life with 16.2 km and good reload or 18,8 with bad reload.
In my Yamato i shot down 1 plane today (formation was not going for me) landed before my 1st main gun on the deck and it did actually do 1 damage to my otherwise full health ship.
I wish that World of Warships would install a button on both PC and console that allows players to take control of the AA guns when aircraft are approaching. Kind of like how you can take control of your torpedoes but it would drop you view down to the deck of your ship, and you can look skyward to pepper the incoming aircraft. Press the button again, and it's back to normal mode. Easy. Right?!
Yeah, carriers are fun - As a complete beginner, I got myself a carrier. In the second battle, I got informed (while flying) that my secondaries sunk a cruiser I was totally unaware of.
just play a german battle ship with a secondary buildif you think thats fun lol! the bismark will kill just about any small ship with out a single click of of the mouse. within a 9.2 km range.
That enemy Schlieffen almost won his team the match. It's just her torps are so unbelievably slooooow that even when you think you compesated for it with your aim (5:26)...you didn't. And one torp would have been enough.
I thought it was always the Zao. By the time I ground my way up to tier 10 it was the Zao, and that wasn't that long after beta was done. I wonder if he's thinking of the Myoko, which was T9, but got bumped down to T7, replaced by the Ibuki?
