Actually, Jingles... in WoT you can qualify your crew to three different tanks of the same class in the future, not to every tank of the nation. And with gold you get to keep 100% of the XP cumulated by the crew, but for free-to-play players there are options with credits but you lose some persentage of the XP.

Because Dead Eye is a percentage reduction and not increase its effect is actually less impactful on already accurate ships like the NC than it is on shotguns like Republique. This NC is using a range upgrade btw...

World of Warships system increases the value of premiums (at least ones that work with similar commander skills) you're never going to retrain them for every silver ship. The world of tanks thing is probably better in that it makes money but I'm not sure if it's good for the game in that all long term players will end up with 19 point captains on everything - which you'll then need to do to stay competitive and it'll make the game really hard for newbies (even more than it is now). One thing no cc seems to have bothered to mention is the massive difference between going from 17-18-19 points and then 19-20-21 points, it was a big jump to need the 300,000 for your 19th point but now it's 500,000 and up which is crazy.... Nice work :-)!

Jingles, I keep a bird song app on my phone just for such cat related gaming issues. Just turn on and toss to the nearest soft spot. It gets her of her own free will to get up off the computer or my arm to investigate. No bad cat karma for moving her along, since it was all her idea. :-)

Well, the best crew system is in the WOT Blitz, you train your crew for the given tank (or pay if you impatient), and after that, every crew gives xp for the class of tanks general and overall skills that is applied to every tanks in the class, so no crew moving is needed.

Wows legends commanders make the most sense to me, you can put any commander on any ship of the same nation without paying anything and you keep all the progress on the commander also no cost for changing the skills on the commander to suit the ship type

The WoT "qualification" proposal seems like it might be useful. Not all tanks have the same crew slots and such, but you could have just one crew for your Russian heavies, for instance. Which might be nice.

Interesting idea about the commanders. Perhaps a system where you could have a commander that could work across a tech tree for each nation, ie 1 DD cmdr, 1 Cruiser, 1BB, 1 CV and the Premium can work on any premium of the same nation. Wargaming gets more $$$ and ships become instantly more playable. There is an element of greed of course, OTOH they offer frequent improvements to the game each season have a wide variety of game plays ect. Businesses need to make a profit to be healthy and stay in business.

This battle is a show of positive RNG. Few fires suffered, many ocasions of half missed salvos still rewarded with citadel hits. And that front citadel on that Duke of York... If these lucks had been distributed in several battles.... but all in the same just means payed RNG!

They took that crew option from War Thunder, in a way. For me it might incentivise me to play WoT again.

Come on, Jingles. You know as well as any Sailor that no two ships in the same class are identical, or even close enough to maintain proficiency. And you also know how fast you lose some of those skills, too!

So anyone who plays both WoT and Ships feel free to answer as I don’t play ships so I’m not sure... On the sandbox a lot of people are complaining that the crew conversion from the old to new is robbing them by a lot of experience and selling them short in points, was this the same feeling of the community for ships? If ships had a crew system like tanks that is before the crew rework in there

Accuracy is a circle in which your shell will land. If the circle is small (ie Accurate) then 10% is a small amount. If the circle is large then 10% is a huge difference. I took dead eye off my Thunderer and it made no difference. I put it on my Bismark and now it can hit things. Consider it the same as concealment. A BB with 17km concealment gets 1.7km for 10%. A DD with 6km concealment gets only .6km for 10%. Deadeye is better on inaccurate ships. The fact that the player base don't get that is neither here nor there and also the BB were sitting at the back before the rework.

The only difference between wows and wots is the train wrecks are in slow motion.

At least in the case of deadeye where the buff is decreasing a value (dispersion in this case) having it percentage based is better. If your accuracy is shit, dispersion is big, and percentage value is rather beneficial, when if you compare it to very accurate ship, dispersion is small. I mean if you compare something like Yamato and GK dispersion, Yamato is 275 meters at max range, which translates to 103 meters at 10 kilometers. GK has 266 meter dispersion at max range, which is 129 meters at 10 kilometers. If you add current deadeye bonus which is 10% to those values, Yamato gets 10,3 meters less dispersion at that range, when GK gets 12,9 meters less dispersion at the same range. So percentage value means that a bad ship benefits more in this case, because it's reduction based calculation. Now if instead you had a flat value of decreasing dispersion by, let's say 10 meters at 10 kilometers, Yamatos dispersion would drop from 103 meters to 93 meters, (which is 9,8% less dispersion) and GKs dispersion would drop from 129 to 119 meters (7,75% reduction) which means flat value would be more beneficial for ships with already low dispersion. Keep in mind that the lower the dispersion, the more accurate the ship, so you want the dispersion to be as low as possible. I hope it makes sense, because I know my math, but english is not my first language... On the other hand Jingles you are correct about percentage values being more beneficial for already good ships than bad ships, but that's only when you buff something by increasing a value. Good example of this is Expert marksman...

i look at as it more like i only need 1 PREMIUM ship per nation, I dont need a german destroyer for crew training or retraining if i already have a tirpitz, so i can grind the lines and do retraining on my premium for any ship of the nation

oh best abuse part is getting a free 10 point captain you don't need and turning them into 171,000 free xp for your other captains or to research a Tier 7 or 8 for free

It would be nice if they allowed each Captain to be trained for one of every class, so you can move from a specific cruiser to a specific destroyer (Say, Minotaur to Daring) etc without penalty, but if you wanted to move to a different non-Prem ship, (Say Minotaur to Jutland or Neptune), then you'd have to pay the retrain cost. Otherwise, there is literally zero point to the system, because I'm just going to keep a captain on every ship and train each one up individually, because that will EARN credits, XP, Free XP and Elite Commander XP rather than consume it.

Ultimately, the root problem is that pay-to-win games like this just rewards people who are bad at the game but have lots of disposable income. Which means that the developer has no real incentive to actually balance gameplay to craft some kind of rewarding yet challenging experience for those of varying skill levels from beginners to experts. The only incentive the devs have is to trick people into buying their way to victory. Which ultimately means that the meta gradually becomes dominated by a constant tug-of-war between the whales who can't stop spending money and the toxic hardcore l33t gamer elitists who want to ban everything. Then everyone who isn't one of those two categories stops playing because it's no fun playing a game where the only way to win is to shell out ridiculous amounts of cash and the userbase is populated primarily by tryhard assholes.

They should copy consoles new crew rework, you can swap the crews of non premium tanks for 9k silver without them having to retrain or start at 75% and if you wanted you can change the crew to a different nationality for 60 gold

Since the captain rework i have only gotten on to play a game or 2 on occasion to stay active in my clan.

The commander skills don't make them any money, because they're causing many players to quit the game!

The commander skill rework for WOWS is fine if all you have are premium ships. If you want to play tech tree ships they've just made the game way more expensive. I feel like I've gotten way more value from buying season passes for last season and the current season on Destiny 2 for myself and my wife than anything I've payed to WG in the last year. I'd love for WG to implement some sort of season pass set up where one of the benefits is free commander retraining

Looking at the royal family, I would say the Duke of York is a pain in the Royal Ass, not a Royal pain in the ass (AKA Prince Andrew and now Prince Harry).

I feel great that I have quit both WoWs and WoT. WoT would be better if it were monthly subscribtion instead having so many mechanics to milk money and ruin everything.

I’ve always been of the opinion that in a free to play game, they can monetise as many features as aggressively as they like, provided the free to play experience is still GOOD. Getting money out of the whales who are willing to spend it is not “predatory”... When it starts being detrimental to your game experience to NOT spend tonnes of cash, that’s when things are going wrong. In that regard, WoT’s crew system seems a lot better - if you’ve got the money and are willing to spend it, great! If not, meh, no biggie

She must have thought her ginger fur was maroon, for she took on every other cat, dog or human that was much taller than her in a ferocious style typical of British paras.
