The "peace" of 1919 was a catastrophy for the germans. Yes they not lost so much lands like ww2 but the conditions for the development in the germany itself after ww1 was much worst. Actualy any development of Germany after ww1 was restricted under that "peace" of 1919. One of the main reasons for the rise of extremist political parties and ideologies. Also the newborne freak empires of Eastern Europe - Serbia (Yugoslavia) and others. Created to hold Germany and Russia (USSR)... in reality most of them hold.... days in the ww2. But they were able to enforce policies of national building in the empires that they recived from the "peace"of 1919 - surprecing minorities, extermination, expulsation of population, violent assimilation. As a result more hostility between the ethnic groups in Eastern Europe. There was nothing peacefull after 1919. About the vision that major clash between USA and China could be avoided with allowing China to rise economecly without military... thats impossible . If its happend will be practicly non violent giving up the US hegemony to China, like USA did this with the British empire. I think that only the significant technological advance could keep USA world hegemon - because that will provide also military and economical advance.

The gentelmen on the panel have forgotten the contribution and martydom of sons of Indian sub continent and the financing of British army. It is such a shame and in future these countries will pay heavy price once India and China have taken back what was stolen from them. It is matter of time.

The world doesn’t evolve around India! I have Indian heritage but why do Indians from India always comment on how Indians lost lives like their the only nation to have lost lives. If you want a mention it’ll have to be in context of what their talking about! In your mind how would you imagine India paying a heavy price to those who wronged you? I hate Nazi Germany but the Germany today is nothing like their unfortunate past. You need to let go of the past and look towards a bright future for the Indian citizens!
@disloyalf1
@disloyalf1 5 лет назад
Johney Smith So you would be ok with a simple apology 🤔? I don’t think Indian people would accept an insincere apology. The idea behind an apology is pointless!
@disloyalf1
@disloyalf1 5 лет назад
Johney Smith So you won’t let go of the past and you don’t think an apology is good enough! But it’s ok that the Germans apologised and you forgive them of their past? You seem to be contradicting yourself you moron.
@disloyalf1
@disloyalf1 5 лет назад
Water & Sky They have clearly broken their colonisation past. It doesn’t exist today! Racism on the other hand exists in every single country. Plus it’s a myth Germany did apologies, they recognised the crimes they committed but no apology. What’s the point anyway, their crimes were done under Nazi leadership!

India wasn't a strong country before british conquest of indian subcontinent. It was under mughal/mongol and other muslims rulers. If mongols can be taken as indian then its a different matter. Therein lies the roots of common asian Century for both the Chinese, Indian and other asians and not to be under US and aglo saxony hegemony. But is India ready to stop donkeying for US and anglo saxon? But for China, which was dominant economy before the Opium War of 1840, the world change for the Chinese. And its the Chinese returning to their former glory that is now shaking the world.

Do you honestly believe that? The British politician Theresa May certainly was up to the job of PM. But that reflected the idiocy of the conservative MPs who voted for her and just how politically correct the party of posh zombies is trying to be.

The 11th hour of the 11th day ended the war on the ground in France. It marked the beginning of the British Navy's blockade of Germany in the North Sea, starving German civilians and making a mockery of the idea of "armistice." This lead to the extortion of the Versailles "Treaty," and in due course necessarily to German revanchism and Hitler. November 12th marks France's and Britain's first day of World War Two.

As an Indian I am longing for that scenerio because we are victims of British imperialism and America really is a continuation of British colonial project. And besides India and China was the two biggest economies of the world only in the last five years western powers dislodged that pattern but luckily India and China again rising and claiming their historical positions.

A good deal of the discussion here is about the repayment of Britain's and France's debt to the US. Wrong. Dead wrong, at least in the British case. England paid America back in 1927 simply by moving some length of rope in bank vaults, mostly in London, some perhaps in New York. This moved a lot of gold from India's to America's ownership. English war debt? Paid.

India has literally never been an international power. China is another story, though it has itself repeatedly been the colony of stronger powers (Mongols, Manchus, and Japanese) in the last thousand years. Look, fucking your way into an overpopulated swarm doesn't make a place historicallally or culturally relevant.

The key issues to lead the new world order I do think are 4: 1- Natural resources, mainly conventional hydrocarbons. How to get them: By impose politics on those countries or negotiate without any kind of intervention. 2- Capital: Does the country has it? Real Capital. 3- Science and technology. 4- Cost of the labor market. I do think any country in this planet can compete with China on this 4 issues. So WWW3 is coming.

Sorry it's a yr later. China would not be successful if it wasn't for USA business's leaving the shores of USA & going to Hong Kong. Only b/c of cheap labour & lack of environmental standards. China was part of the 3rd world in the means of poverty. When all western countries also used a % of their GDP to third world countries. (No longer called 3rd World) And we still see Western countries giving mass amounts of $ to infrastructure banks. This is how China has increased its economical impact on the world. Now in 2020. We see UN agenda 2030 for most Western countries giving % to Africa. Which over the last 50yrs $ has flowed to Africa to help lift ppl out of poverty, only to have too many crooked gov'ts not looking after their people.

It's due to the way the war was fought. They would dig themselves in and shoot at eachother. The first European war was basically the first war where they would fight eachother with advanced weapons. And they were not actually prepared for it. Wars before that were on huge fields with swords and shields. But by 1918 the bullets had farther reach and tanks were strong enough to withstand harsh terrains.
