So glad there are even people running this game! One can only watch so many Mario world rom hacks lol I miss this game so much and that music and finally I know where the song goes whose place in the game I could never figure out! final credit music !! Hahahah listened to that soundtrack over and over again wondering about the levels I never made it to. After many years, at age 25 (6 years ago) I finally beat Circus Act 5 “Turn on the lights” and after that I just ended up beating the rest of the game EXCEPT the final boss which I gave up on!
11:09 God that sudden guitar cut in was always SO good for the soundtrack. I grew up loving this game and never even making it to the first boss, I really miss it from childhood.
So, to put this in perspective, speedrunner Bluntbunny was working on this game for, I think, over a month before I picked this up with him. From there, my learning and strat finding took around 3 weeks, then my grind lasted a bit over 3 months if I remember correctly. During that time, a lot of tech was tested, I discovered the 1-5 Flying Clip, and together with Blunt, we came up to a lot of optimizations and strats we even skipped during runs, that you can see on my recorded ILs here in the channel. So our respective PBs are the product of around 5 months in total, of tests and science for the game. Also congrats on beating this game ♥ not an easy achievement in my opinion hahaha
