I like how Rassie stands up to the corrupt administrators and match officials. It is human nature to have unconscious biases and he pointed out a good example of this. There needs to be transparency and accountability on all sides and instead of making a scapegoat out of Mr Erasmus they should do some self reflection.

I am at a huge disadvantage because I am a woman and a couch potato but what 50% of Rassie's comments don't you agree to Gareth? My husband get's very impatient with me if I ask him questions regarding rules while watching the game. So I sat down with my grandson and he explained the different aspects of the rugby rule book. That's how I view Rassie's tape. It is said that knowledge is power and I believe I learnt more about rugby in that 60 minute tape. I need to be enlightened and trust you will indulge my question. Having said all that, I believe Rassie is a brave man by putting his head on the block.

I do think Rassie has done the right thing. It's a pitty WR has the old boy attitude going on.

I am so divided on this but here are things that run through my head whenever this issue is brought up. - spirit of the game under attack by Rassie - lions always put massive pressure on the ref, both directly and indirectly through world rugby - Erasmus has opened a can of worms. I wonder how much of this was calculated when he moved into his new role as director of rugby - a French ref in the lions NZ series made a clear and obvious call to penalize the lions in the dying minutes of the last drawn match. The TMO agreed. The touchy agreed but then he tells the ref he could just go for the other option. Sam Warburton begs him to change his call ( for no particular reason ) and for the first time I can remember ( after everyone being somewhat on the same page ) ...he changes his decision. Read calls the ref gutless and storms off. World Rugby tells the ref the call was wrong but it was the right decision for the game - pressure on the refs in the lions series is immense. Erasmus was aware of this and was desperate. The French refs final call was for the Boks in the last minute of the final game. He wasn't going to make the same mistake. - Erasmus has opened a can of worms. I concern we will need full time social media roles to pump out one sides case before every match. - Poor Marius. The guy arguably was intimidated in the first match and without a doubt he was in the following two. I'm not sure which was worse. Intimidated by world rugby or by SA. But I'm sure SA intimidation was just as, if not more , effective. Very difficult for his daily life in SA had he expressed what he perhaps wanted to. # In general every supporter carries there own confirmation bias. I hear SA supporters complain alot about officials. As as ABs supporter, we always felt hard done by. Especially when we play SA and Eng in there respective counties but we all have these bias. We all are usually only looking for the oppositons infringements when we assess a game. The beat anyone can hope for is 50% of the 50/50 calls. - TV camera replays need to be regulated . There needs to be rules governing replays. TV replays seem to be far more utilized and more influential in changing decisions in Eng and SA than in any other country. Particularly in close games, TV replays have been weaponized in such a way that particular replays are avoided while others are not. Usually in favor of the home side. I am aware of a potential bias I have on this. Keep an eye on it. # A fair result would've been a drawn series. But fuck fair. That's how they described the last lions series. The final call was fair as the result was fair. Rubbish. The fair result comes from correct decisions. Well done to the BOKs. They deserved the win.

Some may disagree but I'am with you. We have experienced years of utter incompetencies and now clear dishonesty. Their problem is we have also experieced the unbiased brilliance of people like Nigel Owens.

Rassie is a hero! Refs have become untouchables only the best refs should ref high profile games which Berry does not qualify for. It does not take more than half a brain to see a good ref. The beauty of Rassies genious is that the rest of the Rugby World is going to put up with bad refs daring not to say a word and from now on they going to think twice before giving our games a bad ref and this should keep them on their toes. I would like to suggest as a rugby fan that the whole South Africa pitch in and pay Rassies fine if he gets one. Let's stand together

I completely agree with you Gareth ... The captains referral needs to be implemented world wide. Im actually 100% behind Rassie... What a legend and a brave man to stand up to Evil dark side known as World Rugby. I honestly think they feel threatened by someone much smarter than them. Such as his cryptic tweet he had the other day with then donkey and the tiger. 80% of what he said in his video was right and can one take WR to court for being unfair and biased. I think refs in the first test were very unprofessional... I feel as if WR will never apologize or take ownership and now rassies video is exposing them and having the hearing as a scapegoat. I think WR is not representing the world and have their favorites.

What Rassie did was right. The same shit occurs year in and year out with unfair blowing of a game and referres keep getting away with the same shit. All the Boks ever asked for was a level pecking field where the rules are applied fairly for both sides. But in most games the Boks has always got the bitter end of the stick. So stop the shit. Blow fairly because that's a true reflection of whose the better side under the same set of rules for all.

Everyone has an opinion whether it's right in our eyes or wrong, Rassie did what he thought was right and I agree. Some things are leaked on purpose, even the Government does this, then throw their hands in the air with so-called horror 😱!! Then you've got the Ref with his two pitbulls called assistants, and the TMO whose job is to look over replays and report to the ref. The ref is in charge, not the TMO. So Rassie came on as a waterboy, so what!! Good win to the Boks vs Argentina.

When I look at the state of this country, the economic shambles, the political upheaval, the poverty, the unemployment - in fact the lack of future, then the recent rugby entertainment is nothing of any real consequence. It is merely a trivial distraction from reality!

I’m not aware enough of world rugby rules around this but coaches do complain about ref decisions a lot, just not as long as Rassie did and usually in organised press conferences. I don’t get why you can complain little and often but not all in one video. They need to perhaps clarify that as it doesn’t seem the right way to do things. I think it’s terrible if any other union is making complaints about him, that’s pathetic.

South African rugby has always kept quiet when any other countries had "complaints" about the way we play rugby. Now that sa rugby has got someone who also knows how to complain he is frowned upon. All I can say to that is "if the shoes fit wear them" I say a big up to Mr. Erasmus for playing the water boy thing L. M. F. A. O.

Let's hope good comes out of this rather tawdry affair. I'm hoping for a lengthy review of the laws following what I hope to be a proportionate response from World Rugby.

Rugby laws need to be simplified. Refs using to much "discretion in applying rules. Teams playing need more input appointing refs for a game & pretty soon inept refs won't get games.

Hi, in your description you state Rassie is the springbok head coach, perhaps it should be changed to director of rugby? Just a suggestion, either, they can't charge Rassie for following their rules.

Captains referral was tryed out in the club game it wasn't introduced in the international game. I say they should put Captains referral in the international game. For me the WR need to change the ceo needs to go 2nd tier country's are not got going to get a chance with them also Japan got tier 1 states and they haven't been put in a tournament. That's if SA get the games with new Zealand and Australia due to covid issues going on there new Zealand were hoping to play the SA games in Western Australia but that got squashed the Australia matches I will be surprised if it happens with the covid infection they have just saying

World rugby shouldn’t support corruption instead they should fight it and if they want to punish Rassie and or Gatland, they should rather resign from their glorified jobs.

Easy to solve the crises, both teams get a panel of refs to choose to officiate in the series. So poor refs will not be chosen and soon spiral down the order. Both teams must agree on the refs and if necessary the vote can be closed. Each international game must have 2 TMO's, one to assist the ref and the 2nd keeping an eye on foul play and to assist the ref on incorrect calls. We are now in the professional era so let us be professional about the game and officiating. Bad calls ruin games and careers!!

I hope World rugby doesn't suspend Rassie, but it would be interesting to see how Nienaber handles the team without him.

I agree about world rugby getting on with it gman. But i remain staggered that you and your countrymen cannot distinguish between Gatlands criticism of an APPOINTMENT, and rassies criticism of PERFORMANCE. And you think that Marius Yonkers erred in calling willie offside, i dont, and nor does nigel Owen's. Also after rassies video was released he didn't come out and say that it was leaked, he doubled down on it. Plenty of what the video was about rassie was right, but you don't seem to understand every coach could do thst after every game. Our Graeme Henry made a video with what he thought was 57 refereeing mistakes when France beat us in 2007. He showed it to Nz rugby, but to no one else because he didn't want to look like cry babies, sore losers. Which is how rassie looked. No coach should ever do that again, its embarrassing for him, south African rugby, and now world rugby, by their inaction. I am not a lions supporter but a neutral, i correctly predicted the tesult of every match and won a few dollars. But if you don't think South Africa has lost friends over this, you're mistaken.
