@@escapetherace1943 it all about drag control, set just barely enough, then once your hooked up to lighten the drag quite a bit. Takes a lot of practice but I have landed 4 lb trout on 2 lb test.
Havent tried gulp salmon eggs, they seem to love them going by this video. I have tried the power bait how would you say the two compared, presuming you have tried the power bait.
I have tried them all every brand and product in terms of bait. Powerbait is good depending on the color you choose. Beige/creme color one with sparkles an garlic scent works the best. Cheese powerbait works good too although a bit harder to find in stores. I like radiant salmon eggs the most. Zekes atlas is better than powerbait in terms of consistency of the putty it stays on longer.
@@Loptopv9 if your new to fishing the reel is not enjoyable to use. I only used it for demonstration purposes. If you have a little bit more money there are some better reels out there for just a little more $.
If the hook was swallowed deep I would cut the line so it can live and be caught another day by someone else who might keep em. I later switched to a size 10 hook and I wouldn't have this issue anymore.
