we liked the table,however the chair is unsafe for those that dont fall into the correct bmi. the old aliminum folding chairs are better constructed . i would opt for an adirondack style chair that folds.

People were commenting on the "diesel comment" However, I wonder how many people know that the Chevy Duramax Diesel is actually part Isuzu (Japanese) joint venture between Isuzu and GM. REI can go to hell. I very much support people being able to believe in what ever they want and express those beliefs unimpeded, but I will not support people who are openly hostile towards my rights. I will not give them the resources and ammunition to use against me. They would have been better off keeping their political beliefs separate from their business like ANY smart business would do. They are free to take their stand, and SO am I.

I have tried several types of camp chairs and the helinox isn't all that. I prefer the Kermit chair, takes a bit more space than the micro chair when rolled up, it's all USA made, of USA materials, and Really Expensive Items doesn't sell them 😉. I pack it with my tent on the motorcycle for adventure trips and it's never failed me. I weigh about #250, and it holds me just fine. The Kermit NOT fragile, and they stand behind thier product and you can even get a cupholder!

i like the chairs, but sometimes REI can be a bit expensive. i bought one from amazon from ShineTrip called "ultralight portable folding chair" and it's $30.

I still have some of those old chairs hanging on the wall. They need restripped? though. Got to find that webbing somewhere. No clue where to find that. Insulting my favorite diesels? tsk tsk tsk. I love building performance 6.5 diesel engines. Not to keen on the noise though to be honest. And man if I could fit a muffler under my van I would :)

We have an REI in my area. About to close do to high prices and wrong political stand. Big time rightwing city here. Probably the only thing that kept them alive was holiday traffic from Lake Tahoe and gamblers from California.

Was on a motorcycle trip and a lot of the guys had a Kermit chair. Good quality, light weight, small folded size...bit pricey though.

REI is always over priced for items that aren't much better in quality. My cheap ~$15 pack chair clone has served me well for 5+ yrs so far(Used in many different areas).

Just sayin those legs would sink to the fabric in sand... thats the whole reason for the curved legs on the "1950s" chairs it disperses the weight over more surface area. Plus i dont support somone who tries to take our right away.

If your not looking for something tiny and want something robust The Coleman's big and tall collapsible camping chair can hold up to 5 or 600 pounds. It's not bulky or crazy looking. It's maybe a little higher then a normal folding chair in a thin bag with a strap similar to a tent. They are only 20 or so bucks. I hate flimsy chairs, IAM a big guy and I like to hook up a sun umbrella to the back of it and a rod holders on the side.

My sons 8yo now and i can tell you im lost going from working in the woods running grapple skidder to comming home and having to fill in for momma when she has to go somwere on the weekend......im lost.

Hm I prefer the original one from Helinox the Helinox One. Pack size is much smaller and fits allways in its bag.

Helinox Chair Zero is better. Can be found on sale for $80-85. Only 1.1 lbs, packs down smaller, and is just as comfortable. I'm pretty much over REI. They have always been expensive, and they did away with their return policy which is why I was willing to pay for it. I think the money you spend at REI could be spent at cottage manufactures and you'll get more bank for your buck. Its good gear, but not great gear.

I mean, I think the only difference is REI's is bigger which may put your legs at a more comfortable angle. That being said, I prefer (because I have it) the Helinox Chair Zero over Flexlite because of the weight... I wouldn't really consider flexlite backpacking unless I had a real good excuse to not have a bunch of other weighty items in my pack.

there are better chairs, maybe not for your needs but..... on soft ground the feet have a tendency to dig in. I have had one and used it extensively, camping and at home. are the portable and easy to store? yes they are. are they comfortable? for short use yes.

Draining stuff... make sure to leave ball valves half open, so the ball itself drains. The hole in the ball if full of water will freeze and break the valve housing!

You realize the 6.7 powerstroke was co designed with GM. The 6.7 is starting to be known as the best diesel Ford has put out. GM cant be that bad. Plus you always gate what you can't have 😂

I bought this chair summer 2016 and been carrying it in my car all the time. This IS the MOST COMFORTABLE portable chair that I've ever have. It is just very good design and nothing else. They just made it right.
