I talked to one RR personnel once back in 2018 while I was on vacation in Kashmir (Gulmarg). I was full Call of Duty fanboy back then. So me and my brother were having some hot tea in a tapri and I saw a 6'3" guy walked in with an AK 47. He opened his mku helmet (back then I didn't know the name) and kept his rifle on his lap. I mustered up some courage and said hello. Then after introducing my brother, I asked him about AK and Vests and all the electronics that we usually see in games and movies. He said for them, equipments are secondary. He told me if I have a khukri in my hand and there are 5 suars in his range he would have dropped all of them dead. He said they train so much and with so high level of intensity that shooting becomes their first nature. Even in sleep, they keep one part of their mind awake. The level of awareness is unmatched. Then he patted on his AK 47 and chuckled and said this gun is a part of his body now. Then he also said, "Hum bhi thode bohot technology use kar lete hai, magar kisiko batate nehi" That was the best day of my life.

I can't tell how proud I'm to tell that father served in RR and Ghatak force both. He was in Rajput Regiment. But the regret was he could not have stars on his shoulders. Probably my destiny is to do so.

The Assam Regiment is an infantry regiment of the Indian Army. The regiment consists of 25 battalions: 15 regular battalions, 3 Rashtriya Rifles battalions, 5 Territorial Army battalions and 2 battalions of Arunachal Scouts. It recruits exclusively from all the eight Northeastern states. My father was in 4 Assam regiment battalions as a commando & they fought with LTTE in Sri lanka and they won the battle come back safe. Takra Raho Jawan.

Once Major Gaurav arya said that when army personnel were selected for RR, they eventually selected those army personnel who were most notorious and less disciplined and more like dabang attitude.
