In the gripping finale of this series I install a set of coloured LED lights underneath the pickguard. Alan Ericson on RU-vid: / @alanerickson28oct63 Sign of the Firebird on Facebook: / signofthefirebird
And the same for your holidays too. Next year will have some fantastic things, got lots of time to stretch out and tackle some big projects and explore some interesting ideas. Thanks for watching.
I thought of that once. You could probably do something with a cheap tuner (one of the ones with a different LED for each note), and haveit react differently to different notes. Also: built in tuner.
I like the idea. I wonder how shielding tape would interact with it. Your pick guard was creative, but I'm not sure I want to go to that extent. Guess I could buy some better pods and such.
Is the neck stable and solid over time? I once bought a cheap bass as a base for a project-build, but the neck was so soft that if you broke one string off it, the truss rod would pull the neck back enough to mute the 3 other strings. This has kind of put me off cheap basses to use for this purpose
Final gig at the Port and Eagle in Kaiapoi. Nice job. With a new Fender precision going for NZ$ 1900 and up. It would be worth spending the time and effort on a cheap guitar and upgrading it, if you have the time and skills. Just not the cheapest you can find, maybe.
I like to use those led strips under my synth shelves. I get the usb powered ones so they can be plugged into the same surge protector as the rest of my gear and everything turns on at once.
@@fanbladeinstruments Thx for the answer. That's what i thought :) I've been adding LEDs to guitars as well and always struggled with humming. There's a video on my channel where i put LEDs inside a Orange O Bass if you're interrested. Cheers
I did try a test run like that, they weren't bright enough from the side. Mabye if they were on a 12v circuit that may have worked. I also tried to think of a way to embed the led's in the edge of the acrylic for a light pipe effect but that would've been a massive amount of screwing around.
