Extreme Cities - Yakutsk: The coldest city on the planet
Most Dangerous Places on Earth: Coldest Road, Trip Antarctica, Australia's Ghost Tow • World's Most Dangerous...
In this place known as “the cold pole”, the biggest challenge relates to the nature of the soil: the “permafrost”. With the warming of the climate, this frozen soil is melting and the buildings are threatened with collapse.

Hello everyone😀👋🏼 I was born and live in Yakutia, I also lived in another country for ten years. so I want to say that this documentary is quite darkly aesthetic, but it does not reflect the actual warmth that can exist in -50. Yeap, it is also very warm in Yakutia, and this warmth is expressed in people, in kindness, in love for nature, and in the desire to help anyone. We have a very rich culture and traditions. Yakut people are very close to nature, both in winter and in summer. Yes, we have summer too, usually it's 30 degrees of heat on average. In summer, we like to relax in nature, swim in the river Lena and sing songs to the guitar by the campfire.💕Welcome visit Yakutia.🥰 In fact, we are not so gloomy. Good luck and kindness to everyone!🍃

Tens of thousands or more people died en route to this area or in the Kolyma's series of gold mining, road building, lumbering, all forced labour camps. It was Kolyma's reputation that caused Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, author of The Gulag Archipelago, to characterize it as the "pole of cold and cruelty" in the Gulag system.
