Put that engine in the new Z, give it a manual transmission, and watch me go into debt as I buy my first new car. Edit: Welp.... Guess I better save for a down payment.
It uses the same formula the GTR does to beat supercars with V8, V10, and V12 engines. A small twin turbocharged VR series V6, and a competent AWD system. It's only downfall is the sluggish and outdated 7AT transmission
Seeing that a used gtr is like 40k atm and newer q60 is at that price point still. Voiding the warranty having to build the engine and go full fbo to get to this power level. Yeaaah I’ll stick with the gtr or still underrated n54 imo
N2alive holy shit where you seein these gtrs at? and i have seen q50 rs for sale for under 25 in my area nissan/infiniti is trying to get rid of alot of cars and they are so cheap right now
Infiniti teamed up with Mercedes 6years ago, Infiniti is about to have some sport cars that will rival the top end AMG Mercedes models, Porsche Turbos, Audi R Quattro models and Tesla, the future is looking good for Infiniti.....
That 3.0 Turbo is a very nice engine. A baby GTR. This thing will be putting up even more power once they can figure out the engine and it’s strengths and weaknesses.
@@THESLlCK of course they’re built like crazy those are 2k builds but there’s more than a handful. Those engines are unbelievable. Give me a name of another engine that has consistently given those hp numbers. Besides maybe ls’s but that’s a category of engines
Die hard Honda fan boy here. Wishing Acura would come up with a scaled down “cheaper” version of an nsx for us poor folks. However, Infiniti offered it for their gtr and with that, I am a proud owner of a q50 red sport. Bought it as a lease return so I got it at a decent cost with only 15000 miles. No regrets. Plan to keep it stock as I plan not to ever sell it. It is fast as is for my old ass and dam, that stance.....just looking at it is a work of art. Infiniti did a stellar job. Although I’m looking forward to Acura’s new type s cars next year, I will never feel any different with my q50.
Well the cat is out of the box. Now the world knows that the infinity Q50 is a poor man GTR. Buy them quick on Copart, while you still can they are dirt cheap. I bought a 2018 q50 at the auction for 8k with 27k miles on it lol.
Own a BMW M6, but love infiniti they always had discrete power an profromance, always knew modifications in the right hands would start a whole new trend, great build & congratulations...
True, only thing holding this thing back is the shitty auto transmission. With the ZF8 or DCT, this thing would even be a threat to its big brother GTR.
its quite aggravating that they dont offer a DCT on the red sports... nobody who buys a red sport cares about a little NVH and most likely isnt going to keep it stock. if they listened to the people wanting to buy the cars, they wouldnt be in the shitter right now
kgkustomz97ser my mom has a q60 resport and my grandma drives a q50 red sport. Realistically, most of the people buying these cars new are older people who could not care less let alone tell a difference in an t/c auto vs a dual clutch. And they definitely don’t plan on keeping them stock. These cars aren’t super popular like the old g’s were because they’re too expensive from the factory and too expensive get to where you’d want them. An outdated infotainment and interior compared to the competitors, a lack of updates to that interior, and a lack of marketing on nissans part makes this car a hard buy compared to the competitors.
AMS killing the VR game, it's only natural for them to make monsters out of VR30's just like they do with VR38's. Considering this is a stock motor and basic weight reduction 9's is great, definitely has a lot more in it with a fully built motor and some bigger turbos.
@@SwtLaotiaNix7 I mentioned bigger turbos, also bigger injectors, but again the block itself is still stock. A lot of room for improvement considering there's still a good amount of research and work left to be done on this platform. I reckon a lot more shops will be getting into the VR game once the VR Z comes out
I keep coming back to this video. Yall are undoubtedly ahead when it comes to performance aftermarket support for the VR30 Q/Z platform. Business is gonna boom especially when the new Z drops.
Just got my tune from them on my FBO Q50RS. This car has so much potential, definitely a sleeper. The q60 in person just looks so damn mean, love that car.
I've owned a dozen Nissans in my life and can swap a VQ water pump faster than most. I was also working out the details on getting an R-33 this year. But this brand let me down recently getting propaganda style political with that .78 cents per dollar bs. Not the same feeling looking at those piles of parts in the corner to make something out of. It was a real buzz kill that I cannot get back behind as a dirty, greasy wrench in my garage with my meager earnings Datsun can water bong my dong. They are against us that don't buy their newest junk but can show up and promote their shit that got them the base they have. No respect for the culture and communities out here, so why give any back?
I’ve been debating on a q60 for a while but after this video and finding out AMS performance is a local company that’s on the other side of town, i’m sold😍
Damn I didn't even know AMS was working with the VR. My lady drives a Red Sport and of course I had to do at least bolt ons for her so we went through Z1 being that I've dealt with them before for Z31/32 builds. Hers was purchased in early 19' and made 422whp with just Downpipes and safe (street minded) UpRev tuning. Everything else stock, 93 pump gas, ~300ft DA. It's been a great daily but I personally think it would be a better one at this power level haha.
Still the same as a stock McLaren 720S. 140mph 1/4 mile trap speed and capable of 9.9s to the 1/4 mile. But since it's AWD, it's consistent than the 720S.
@@l8Os This is an impressive car tho and great for the platform. Although if you are interested in drag racing there are easier ways of breaking into the 9's with different platforms.
It's a open deck block but should still be good to daily mid 20's psi... The VQ37 handles about that reliably if tunes correctly and I heard the trans and block are both more robust on the VR30 series.
