Lol this guy thinks the thing's actual purpose is to fold clothes. Folding clothes is just a good test case for developing robotics capable of handling non-rigid objects in general. For example, Boston Dynamics robots are getting impressively capable at walking over and around most obstacles you'd find in, say, a walled, bombed out ghetto. But they'd utterly fail in an embarrassing fashion if you were to throw a net over one. If a simple net trap gives them the ED-209 stairs treatment, they'll tend not to fare well when it comes to outfitting them with weapons, shipping them abroad, and directing them to annihilate entire populations inconveniently standing in the way of US business and security interests.
