If you're are going 216 in a 65 why the fuck would you stop to get a ticket? The cops wouldn't be able to see your licence plate nor could they catch you.
Why do they keep calling it a jet engine? It's a turboshaft helicopter engine. Jets use the thrust from their exhaust to push them forward, the turboshaft moves a helicopter rotor, airplane prop, or other device via its rotating shaft; exhaust thrust is negligible.
Adrian Nava What guy? I would think that it would be relevant to point out the difference as how the engines translate power into motion are fundamentally different. Also, I am hardly the first person to point this out on this video, so obviously others are "that guy" (whoever "that guy" is) and consider it an important point. Also, I'm not interested in building a helicopter here - the fact is that the bike here is built with a turboshaft helicopter engine, hence the relevance of mentioning helicopters and turboprops. Perhaps for your benefit, so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities, it should just call it a "spinny engine" since turboshafts, turbofans, jet engines, rotary engines, piston engines, and electric motors all make their power from spinning - then you wouldn't have to bother with the pesky details of what kind of engine it actually is, or how it actually works. But, since the "wow" factor is focused on the uniqueness of the type of engine used here, it is fairly important that they accurately identify the type of engine.
yup...this bike is different with the other bike..for a collector it is okay to buy it. or people with a lot of money, of course..XD.....turboshaft on a bike???..u can just forget about fuel eco..and plus it maybe used jet fuel oil...that will be expensive....and also forget about the acceleration....u will only get top speed from this bike..and by looking at the size and design, handling must be bad..
Totally agree. After watching the rest of the video, I would kill to ride it. What an experience! Being jet powered it can hit ridiculous speeds simply because it doesn't run out of gears.
@@sickwolf6434 I'm with Aimlessmoto on this one. The guy is stupid.......and that's putting it mildly. Does he have a deathwish or something? No helmet, gloves or clothing. WTF???? You Americans are insane.
DarkVitamins actually it's similar in technology and concept, it just doesn't use a inline outside air compression system to produce rearward thrust, instead it turns a shaft to power a transmission with two gears, so it is in essence still a jet powered system(besides who's gonna know the difference, jet powered sounds better to most people)
never seen these bikes really move!!!! seems no one has the balls to open them up. the guy is doing fucking bicycle speeds and laughing his head off!!!!! his first ever ride i guess.
It's not "jet powered". that only applies if the power is transferred using only the thrust of the engine exhaust. If it is through the engine driving gears to the rear wheel it's a gas turbine powerplant. If it were jet powered it almost certainly would be illegal- yet safer (for its operator at least) for acceleration. Remember Slammin Sammy's Rocket cars, also thrust propelled (but with a hydrogen peroxide rocket) had no stability issues at all. What's the fastest anyone's had a Y2K up to in a sanctioned measurement situation? 220?
This was the first Y2K video I ever saw and it is still the best, you can tell just how thrilled he was riding it, I think we ALL can understand why just hearing it and having that much power
10 videos about this Y2K bike, and not a single one of them shows us how fast this bike is, only noise sound that makes your neighbours wishes you burn out in hell
Yea it's called a joke... considering they're driving around jet powered motorcycles and are going 50 mph? Idk I don't remember but I remember they didn't go too fast...
***** I think the point hes trying to make is that they said its the fastest without even showing us how fast it goes. I only clicked on this video to see it go 250 not hear about it going 250. They hyped this video up with the exclamation marks in their title. Its not a "Full test" as the description says, until i see its top speed. Full test means everything is tested am i correct?
In case anyone is wondering, it isn't really "jet propelled." The turbine engine is not thrusting the motorcycle like on an airplane, the engine is coupled to a transmission which is turning the wheel like an ordinary motorcycle. But still, I'll bet it does have a lot more power than a piston motorcycle engine. For a given size and weight, gas turbine engines have much more power than reciprocating engines...but their drawbacks are that they burn more fuel and run hotter.
+Matthijs van Duin LOL true, it would definitely be loud. BTW, I like your icon except that the Rubik's Cube drives me crazy! I've never been able to solve that stupid thing!
JAYMONEY14245 Dude...that's if you're lucky if people get out of the way in time, it's not like a deserted highway. Sometimes is as crowded as rush hour.
Ghostrider has the fastest bike... Turbo Hayabusa that produces over 550bhp and a unknown top speed but over 250mph.. and ghostrider rides it on the back wheel lmao
You are joking right? You first should look at what you are saying. Kawasaki Ninja is not a particular bike... there is the Ninja 250, Ninja 300, 300 ABS, 600 ABS, 600, the Ninja 1000. But the fastest bikes Kawasaki makes is the new Z1000 in acceleration and the ZX10R/ZX14R leader class bikes. More so the Kawasaki's, Honda's, KTM's, ect... they all top out at under 200mph (by the built in limiters), this bike in the video they say will do over 250. Do some research.
Dan Martin Think you're so smart... Hayabusa was the fastest production bike at a time, therefore "Not as fast"... During the 99-01, and Kawasaki was the fastest production from 01- 07... This bike shown in video is not a production bike..
Chris Yeager But that is not my point at all. Saying "the Kawasaki Ninja" is like saying that Toyota sedan... well which one? The Camry, Avalon, Corolla? The Ninja is not a single bike, it is the name of a series. There is the Ninja 250, which is a very slow beginner bike, now it is the Ninja 300. There is the Ninja 600/650/636 which are all good fast sport bikes for touring or commuting, or some sporty riding. There is the Ninja 1000 which is once again just a bigger faster Ninja 600. But the Ninjas are not the fastest bikes Kawasaki makes. The ZX line, although some times considered a part of the Ninja line, are just known as the ZX line. The top contenders being the ZX10r and ZX14r (aka zzx1400) So all I ask, is at least know what you are talking about when trying to dispute some fact, and if you do know what you are talking about, don't be so vague about it.
TCWProduction You mean the bike that came out AFTER my last comment? The bike that is NOT street legal. And more importantly you missed the whole point of this thread, the H2R is NOT a part of the Ninja line. So 3 facts you blatantly missed. Before you go around calling people dumb, maybe you should consider fact cheeking your self?
Sounds fucking badass. Meets the requirements of futuristic motorcycle sounds. From the sound of his explanation the bikes have a large amount of turbo lag, but bitch slap you when out of it.
no, its still driven by the rear wheel. The jet engine works the same way a turboprop engine works; the combusted/accelerated airstream through the engine drives a turbine at the back of the engine that directly powers the rear wheel, via conventional means. the exhaust stream from the engine does not provide thrust.
Cobra Phobic SO its fast like a snail? 300+Hp on a bike. just saying even the most powerful bikes are only running like 200-270hp. So therefore your a fucking illogical idiot.
These Bikes look good but the Video makes them slow, so people think they are slow. I know these Bikes are strong but the Video shows them like they drive 100 or something
My present bikes are a '76 Yamaha TT500 and a '79 Yamaha SR500. The SR has a Hi-Per-Kinetic built 650 stroker engine. These are single cylinder 4 strokes. Both bikes sat over 25 years so I'm slowly getting the SR up and going. It runs fine but the seat is being recovered and it needs tires. I already got the hydraulic brakes unfroze and a new battery. These bikes had less than 30hp stock and I estimate it's around 45 hopefully more. I've never had it out of first because of no brakes/old tires.
I don't know if I was reading it correctly but at 70 miles an hour it showed that the motor was at 70 percent of capacity which would mean the bike literally only goes a hundred miles an hour. For something this badass I truly hope I'm incorrect but from the gauges I was able to read this is what it states
Funny most people have a "DREAM CAR". THIS IS MY DREAM. To own this BEAUTIFUL MACHINE. WE CAN ALL DREAM I GUESS.... WOW EVERY TIME I WATCH A VIDEO ON THIS BIKE IM ALL SMILES. AWESOME BIKE !
@dannyrocks777 - Actually, the Tomahawk has four wheels, therefore it is technically a quad bike. But let's disregard that massive technicality. Even so, it's claimed top speed has never been proven. And there is only one made. There are 17 MTT Y2K's.
yeah he switched the fairing and tires but thats it its still a street legal motorbike after he switches back, just the same when people do track days on their street bikes and put slicks on
I wish people would learn the difference between Jet powered and gas turbine powered. While the engines are pretty much the same, jet is pushed forward by a stream of exhaust gasses, turbine engines push the bike by using gears much like any motor, tho they have much more power.
