actually when running or jumping, it’s best to not curl your fingers, or else you could pop out your joints. however, his fingers weren’t positioned correctly, they should be laying flat and be right next to each other instead of being spread like that
The human body is capable of so much, yet we limit ourselves bc of "cringe culture" or stigma. Trust me, this is so fun especially with all the possibilities you could do when you learn different animal gaits. You can walk, amble, trot, extended trot, canter, pounce, and full on gallop. And it's a different kind of freedom when you actually do it!!
I've have engaged in running onall fours since 5, I practiced at 6th grade in 2016, eventually I improved over years, to outrun someone jogging to someone sprinting.
As a therian and quadrobist, i have a really fast friend in 2 legs, I ran in quadrobics besides her and I reached her easily and maintained the speed a bit bc it’s tiring, but I consider myself really fast on quadrobics.
I used to do this all the time when i was young i was obsessed with horses and loved to imagine i was one so i jumped over barriers on all four every single day i remember being able to run FAST on all fours lol i wonder if i still can... if i do i wanna beat his world record! 😂
Why do people get bullied because they use their bodys like come on. Once i did quads in public and a mother told her child to be carefull and not go near me like im a damn tiger or something tf
@@EverGreen8222sameeee❤ [edit: I’M SO SORRY I MISSREAD 😭 THIS IS SO IMBARASSNG Hchsabajdvajavbsje My correction * : I’m a Quadrobist too not a therian or furry! (Sry for the mixup) um ye :,3
Okay all therian and quadrobists here hating be quiet. I am one myself but you's don't need to be mad over his form and how he does it, it's sport and he is doing it how he enjoys it! this is his form if it really makes you that upset then maybe don't watch this. I feel so upset seeing how toxic the quadrobics community has gotten, just remember Opal (which many of you know!) has even said they don't support hating on peoples form, so how about you's support him and not hate?
Ok but... It's a sport, as you said, so form is extremely important. Not that the people policing him are in the right (closed fists would be fucking agonizing) it's just that form should be emphasized if you're constantly doing something.
@@OliveAndJackie yeah but having your hands open puts more strain on the wrist and allows you to seriously hurt yourself easier, after a while you get used to having curled finger and it hurts WAY less
Okay, after 9 months I have returned to this video and I see a LOT of people talking about his quadrobics form and hand position. I’d just like to say that there really isn’t a “right” or “wrong” form, there’s lots of forms and different forms work better for different people. You can’t exactly say that something is “wrong” unless the person is working towards a certain form. And for his hand position, sure it can be dangerous, but it works for him and his body is used to it, so why does it matter? It’s just a different way of doing things, can we all just accept that fact and stop saying how “annoying it is that he’s doing it wrong”??
There is absolutely a right or wrong form and more formal biomechanics analysis will find the best form with the variation from different body types just being variations on that optimal form.
Imitation of animal have big impact in brain, it awake the primal energy in human body, open sense of perception that only belong to animals. That why Yoga asanas are based in animal movement, it cognition improvement. IT not weird, it capacity of brain awake old form to support new one. I believe people with mental disord benefit lot with this kind exercise. The energy that feed mind move down to limbs.
Well yeah, having your hands on the ground while walking in general is wrong hand placement for humans. We acting like theres a right and wrong way to walk wrongly now?
its not a requirement, the curling fingers is just a precaution some like to take, and the form is just to make it look good, there is NO RULES for quadrobics
As a quadrobist, (not therian) I've tested many ways of quadrobic running and have found that this technique is actually very good (however not perfect). Having an opened hand increases balance, and stability. And the way that he replaces his feet with his hands is superb as well, but using this technique can be troubling for people with poor hand-eye (and feet-eye?) coordination, which can cause tripping and such. But, it's also amazing for speed if used correctly. If you get good enough at it, then you can go on all sorts of terrain too.
most therians and quadrobists cannot do it to this extent, this man can run 14mph on all 4's for 100 metres. this takes YEARS of training and even decades, i am a therian and quadrobist myself
To anyone in this comment section that's confused, therians curl fingers while running because it makes your hands look more like dog paws/horse hooves lol based off my experience, running with your fingers out like the guy in the video is the better way to do quadrobics. you have better grip and stability and less joint issues/injuries. Running on curled fingers seems smarter since thats how other great apes do it but our knuckles didnt evolve to distribute force like theirs did so you can cause compression injuries running with curled fingers. Your open hands arent much better at asorbing the force since we arent supposed to be running like this but the open hand lets your tendons be springy that acts as better shock absorbtion than your finger bones rolled into a ball.
@@DM_Lonk it's totally possible, I can see broken or strained fingers being a common injury. I've seen some people who do quadrobics use gloves to help protect their hand skin and provide extra stability
Started doing this on 3 limbs to get around the house because of a broken foot. Been noticing even though I'm more sedintary I'm getting more muscle in my arms and core.

Well i love it to see how people say Quadrobics is an actually sport! and i never knowed about this! btw i do quadrobics too, it’s really easy for my, a hope of people do it, kids till parent (i’am a kid doing quads )
Wow this is so interesting! That bone density thing made me wonder if the same could bw true for gymnastics of calisthenics athletes from doing handstands
It's cool that he's enjoying it, good for him. That aside though, they never actually told us what his records are. No times, competition distances, nothing. Please, my ego wants to know if i can beat him on 2 legs. Will update once I've googled.
That is really cool. I do think he's chosen the wrong animal to model though. The ideal would be a cheetah. The most notable difference being that both back legs make contact at the same time. It's more a series of forward jumps as opposed to what most would consider a running motion. In so doing they arrive at a great deal more power and speed. The obvious problem with human anatomy is the exaggerated difference in the length of the limbs. I believe through analysis one could calculate the necessary motion. Basically it's math. Ability minus disability equals possibility. This would be the path to understanding that motion and how to achieve it, how to train for it.
Though the natural human gallop gait is transverse gallop (horse gallop) and cheetahs use rotary gallop where the back legs are pushing of at the same time. Though its faster to do rotary gallop human scapulas, shoulder and clavicles would limit us
It's interesting that his wrist has adapted to a degree (in size and density) but at the end of the day any adaption will be limited. I mean his legs will always be longer than his arms which makes running on all fours inefficient for humans. Animals that can walk or run on all fours usually have equal length limbs for a reason.
Its cool to see how fast other quadrobists can go. Im still not great at quadrobics but i practice every day 🙂 There's also way more people than 100 that do this.

1:00 “there’s only about a 100 of you that do this in the whole world….” POV: *the therian community the quadrobst community the alterhuamns who do quad be like* “well… shoot buddy”
TO THOSE OF YALL CLUELESS PPL WHO ARE SAYING HE SHOULD CURL HIS FINGERS, HIS FORM IS BAD OR THEY CAN RUN FASTER: okay so, curling fingers is NOT A REQUIREMENT, it is a precaution those take mostly beginners or ppl with weaker wrists and fingers or some just do it to look more like a paw or just to be safer. NEXT there is no such thing as a good or bad form, the form is completely optional it is just to make it look more animal like + a animalistic form is very hard to maintain at such high speeds and that is not what this guy is aiming for, this guy is aiming to be the fastest person on all 4's and has definitely succeeded. NEXT most therians and quadrobists cannot run to this extent, this man can run 14mph on all 4's for 100 metres. this takes YEARS of training and even decades and building up stamina and training your body is A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY, it is not a skill you just shit out of your ass if your gonna be serious about quadrobics rather than doing it as a hobby then it definitely is NOT EASY, i mean even just doing quadrobics for fun is hard. i myself am a quadrobist with a 3mph running speed (slow af) and a 3ft jump record so dont come at me lmao.
I've been walking on all fours for five minutes a day for almost 50 years. I call it the "Five Minute Bear Crawl." Football players do that, and they invariably say they hate it. But it's an excellent exercise. I just do it five minutes straight in my exercise routine. It gives good strength and great coordination. Early on, I read where a chiropractor claimed that if you walk on all fours (he called it The Primordial Walk) for five minutes a day, you will have youth and vigor your entire life. So far, I agree.

I bet im faster lol...i did this when I was like 7... also if I raced I always win with even older kids 10-14 years old while im like 7 or 8...when I was a kid...(running normally)

I too do quadrobics as a sport that's it, otherwise I've been doing it for 2 years now when I'm young (between 10 and 20 years old) ! Otherwise I liked the video. 😁😁😁😁
As a therian who does quads, im shaking in my boots rn😰😰😰😰 (also, there are probably ober 400+ people who do quads, which doesnt make them so "one of a kind".)
As a Therian that does quadrobics, I run exactly like that and I’m not even that fast doing quads. What annoys me though is him not curling his fingers. Although, he may not know about quadrobics and the curling fingers part.
Gosh I hate these comment sm. Entitled therians saying there better then this guy cuz they curl there fingers, like honey ppl have different forms that they find comfortable. No ones breaking any bones either at this point that’s just a rumor with, nothing that I’ve seen personally, to back it up 🙄
he's doing really good! but no hate or anything, but i feel like another quadrobist could easily outrun him in quads, but if only they were brave enough.
Okay, person who does quads here! Why does he run with his fingers out? I get if it’s his way that he does it but still, you can injure yourself doing that lmfao.
This is the first time I've seen this person and noticed that's how I've been running on all fours for 3 years and I thought of running like that with no inspiration so one day I'm going to run faster at quadruple running
