sadly, you didn't focus that much on the main feature which is contrast ratio and how it actually performs in real test, and maybe compare it to some OLED alternative to check black levels and test how 5088 zone really work

@@raynel8495we aren't sure, maybe it's the total number of mini leds, not zones. In IPS even 5088 zones are still not good enough, the native contrast is very low, maybe with these zones it will perform almost like VA with 1000.

@@socialreport2836has to be. He counted a 106 X 48 row in the video. Afaik its impossible to count the actual LEDs through a local dimming test.

@@TheRazorbackkingIt could be 48x106 mini leds from their sell sheet. I searched for the additional information and it seems that it's true but the contrast chequeboard test 8500:1 is still disappointing, much lower than on Neo series (15000:1/20000:1).

Really want to see how it competes against OLEDs and QD-OLEDs. If the contrast is basically the same without any dimming and risks of burn-in, then it's a win-win and I don't care what OLED fans say

I used to be team OLED until I bought my miniLED power house, now I prefer the miniLED.

@@DrakonR exactly, the fear of burn in and able to push it to the limit of the hdr brightness is why i prefer mini led.

I've used an 1152 zone mini led (27M2V) before and it's surprisingly good. Can't imagine how good 5088 zones would be.

Hello, thank you for the review. You need to measure ANSI contrast with local dimming turned on. Full black screen tells us nothing of the local dimming performance.

Full back screen does tell you. It tells you have bright the lowest nit value is. You want it to be 0.

The local dimming test however, would indeed need to be of small bright objects. Measuring the size of the glow spots next to them

@@Geodude_b1anch3 perfect 0 full black can be achieved with no local dimming just by frame dimming, which has no benefit whatsoever to ansi(static, truly useful contrast). So, it's a pretty useless test for LCD and does not put local dimming to the test at all.

It's strange this one. You're bang on with the LED comparison. It appears that this unit does per LED dimming though which should dramatically reduce blooming compared to the 1152 zone mini leds. I'm hoping someone reviews one of these and does a starry night sky comparison to validate against the 1152 zone competitors.
