Hello Gavin!! Happy holidays to you! I am fresh back in the winter of Colorado:-( from the Mojave Desert :-) I am digging the desert more, currently! Thank you for this awesome video! I have a transfer switch on my house. These two models would be awesome to power the house, if needed. Fortunately, the power in Ouray, Colorado is very reliable; I am pretty surprised by that due to our remoteness. Have a great day!! PS. Many congrats on almost getting to 100k subscribers!!
This must only work for the "series" models and not regular 120 volt generators or is it the technology of the parallel kit itseld that allows the 240 volts in parallel mode?. Nice upgrade. Duromax has got to get with the program so I can run my 120 volt unit in series to get 240 volts.
I am curious to know if you have the parallel kit set to 120 instead of 240 if one generator dies will it do the same or will there still be power at the parallel kit? Did you happen to do a review on the dual fuel 4600, by itself?
I will be able to test it out for my own as well soon. I ordered the parallel kit & the 4600 dual fuel to parallel with the efi unit. I wanted to have at least one of them be dual fuel. The generator & parallel kit is supposed to be delivered today.
We have two GM7250iEDC we will be paralleling. One is a 2022 and the other 2023 . The 2023 has the neutral connector/port on the front panel, the 2022 does not. We have both of them un-bonded to meet code so we can hook up to the house. Can we connect the neutral from the 2022 to the 2023 without any circulating current problems given they have the exact rating and are of the same brand? I would imagine they added it to the 2023 for safety reasons or perhaps a more stable environment, not sure though. BTW, thanks for all the greats vids.
Very interesting video. I have just recently ordered the 4600 efi, it should be delivered in the next day or 2. I was under the assumption that in order to parallel these units they had to be the exact same units. It appears that is not the case with these 2 models...🤔. Everything is the same except for the efi. I just wasn't sure the carb & efi would.play nice together.
go online and search outside the US. there's a ton of generators that comes from the same factory that's already 240v. you don't need to buy two and a parallel kit
Most likely not split phase. European 240V is not the same as the United States 240V. Here in the states we use split phase 240V in Europe they use single phase 240V.
@generatorreviews do we need to ground the parallel kit ground lug on the junction box back to the generators? Or is that just overkill, not sure why it is there. I assume its unnecessary but just wondering if its needed.
They’ve only been able to series them for more power. Offering a true parallel connection with split phase 240 is new and makes this like a big boy with this built in. Why offer this? Maybe you just need one for camping but have the second for outages at home.
Hey Gavin, great videos man, as always. Question : Do I really need an inverter generator?! Or a regular duromax such as the 13.000 w ( which is not an inverter) will do me well?! Duromax website said that this generation can power tvs, laptops and etc. Thanks for the help. Budget is tight so that's why I am trying to stay away from inverters ( because of the price)but understand if I have to.
I think if you’re using it for construction or non-home backup, a non-inverter is fine. For RV or my home, I would recommend you using an Inverter Generator 100% of the time.
Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it. I am using for home back up so I will get an inverter one. If it's not too much to ask, I was thinking combine 2 generators. If I use one non inverter, transferring power to a generator with inverter and from this one with the inverter sending power to the house. Do you think that works? Knowing that the one sending power to the house is the inverter generator?! Thank you
@@lorenaeglasiano 😮??? ahh not sure of the set up u want but please don't try anything crazy.. a non invertor generator operates differently than a inverter generator.. my opinion just buy an affordable inverter model bonus it consumes less fuel
