It'd be pretty annoying, though. Getting chased by ghost leviathans while trying to make it back to your lifepod sounds horrible, not to mention I've seen the leviathans clip through the wall of the lifepod and kill you anyway, so it'd be spawn camping constantly.
Wouldn't it instantly kill the run? If your life pod is instantly sinking you don't have time to make a base builder and so you won't have a fabricator available. You basically have guaranteed death.
@@TheLastBaconand with it sinking to the ocean floor it would be a race of will the life pod reaching the floor or the Ghost ripping the life pod apart
also saying it makes reapers aggressive is an understatement. if you go ANYWHERE near the biomes they swarm, then AT LEAST one will find you and kill you
It's all fun and games until you spawn in one of these locations: Blood kelp zone! Back of the aurora! Bottom of the underwater islands! (That last one is nightmarish. Too many bone sharks and you're at a 400 meter depth.)
This is probably the mod my friend saw you talk about. He's almost beat the game now. Hardest part was getting nickle. You basically need nickle to get nickle.
Also the lore explanation for the increased power is absolutely hysterical. You can see it in the deathrun part of the pda entries you get when you start the game
I think the place for the hardest mod for subnautica goes definitely to the red plague because it’s not just one of the hardest to beat but also to survive playing.
@@TheLastBacon I‘m definitiv looking forward to that but be warned. Anthomnia is already playing the version that is available and it is a real stress for his mental health.
Honestly, I really didn't think it was that hard on the basic settings, and it really just felt like normal subnautica by the midpoint of the game. I plan on doing the hardest difficulty at some point, so I'm hoping that's much more difficult.
The only part I dislike about this mod is that because of the way they alter reaper Leviathan AI, reapers will end up chasing you across the entire map, not just on an initial aggro but constant pursuit
the creatures being more aggressive in the one thing that isn't technically realistic because most animals don't mind you if you don't mind them and that's how they were originally programmed
pair this with return of the ancients and adding in the king of 4546b then... well I hope you hoard titanium, youll understand when you see it (take ur time to reading it, I dont want to rush you)
the nitrogen thing is just the cherry on top. i could probably do this without it but with the nitrogen level thing, i just cant do this mod without losing my mind after 20 minutes
Good luck with getting a boat captain's lisence! Btw don't you need to have something like a year of experience out on the water before being able to get it approved?
Is the mod customizeable at all? Would be really cool to try playing with some of these changes, like the Nitrogen levels and spreading radiation, without permadeath.
Honestly I’d like a version of this without the increases aggression and permadeath. That sounds like it would be a genuinely fun challenge without being frustrating.
I think it's kinda funny how the hardest mod in subnautica basically adds real world logic to it like radiation spreading or the explosion contaminating the air with chemicals and stuff
The radiation thing is kinda wild bc water is actually a really good insultator against radiation, plus the air not being breathable is insane. I get it's just trying to be hard but if they're gonna add things like Nitrogen sickness they're gonna open themselves up to criticism for the realism
Hey I have got subnautica now and things are easy because what every information I need i can just hop into the game and find out I have made the spawn area which is the safe shallows? Right? Idk how do you open the menu that reveals the name of the biome you are in?
I feel like I would love this mod if it weren't for the perma death. All the other mechanics sound so cool but I get frustrated easily when it comes to perma death stuff.
