Wow, kind of cool, but an _extra_ $30 just to go up the elevator? A bit of a rip off, no? Great video though, Paolo! Thanks for showing us. I just saved $30. XD
Imagine a country that is arguably the most technologically developed in nearly all fields of science, medicine, engineering, infrastructure, entertainment and arts, and at the same time having a freaking moving Gundam. Honestly, I'm impressed.
And yet it's oddly backwards in other ways. They still largely use cash for daily purchases rather than credit cards/mobile payments (I haven't used cash for years). Documents are often required to be signed using a personal stamp rather than a written signature.
Good points but don’t overestimate and paint with a broad brush. Check out his video on their legal system. Archaic. They have a 98% conviction rate based on their practice of forcing confessions.
Its not a recognista that the Gundam Factory wants but it probably true to a good extent. With international travel down 90% or more it might not seem sensible to keep it longer. I hope they factor longer term goals for that Gundam BC it will bounce back if given a chance.
I just started building Gundam model kits. I'm a chef and I love working with my hands. Quarantine has unfortunately left me unemployed, but it's allowed me to pursue a hobby that I've been mulling over for years. I cannot wait to travel to Japan and visit this Gundam Factory (with Granddaddy Gundam RX-78-2) and the Unicorn Gundam too! Thank you for making these videos. They make my day and always give me new ideas for things I want to do when the borders open up and I can visit Japan for the very first time!
I have a suggestion for a video. I kind of understand the different types of train service like express, local, etc. but could explain all the types of service and when the run. We just catch the next train.
They can't do that in the open. It would jeopardize the secret that it's a fully functional Gundam... why tip them off to it when they can just remove the rear hop support and put a shield and rifle as a harsh surprise vs the enemy?
Japan has so many amazing attractions that are always very limited time events but I guess that's why they can rotate through so many things and always have something new.
I was so unbelievably happy when I heard this was a thing and scheduled an entire day trip to Yokohama for my trip that was supposed to happen this year... but due to COVID obv not happening. I am PRAYING that they do decide to keep it running at least for a year or two after Japan opens up to tourists again after the pandemic. I was sooooo upset when I realized that I might not actually be able to go here I LOVE GUNDAM! I want to experience this so much! I am soooo happy you did this Paolo since I only saw photos before, but videos help make me feel like I can get more of a taste of it. I'm crossing my fingers they extend its opening so I can come and see it!!!!
Check out our video from the pre-opening event last year, we even had a chance to interview Kawahara-san, the lead engineer behind the design of this Gundam! - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HT-c7Uzc2Dk.html
Lol! This is what I was thinking. They have other giant gundams around the country and it'd be hilarious if it was all a tourist front for real, functioning gundams.
Thanks for this video, Paolo! I miss Japan sooooo much! I was in Tokyo last year from Mar 1-7 2020 and I went to Odaiba to see the Unicorn Gundam and I was soooo amaze! I cant wait to go back to Japan and make sure that this place is on my list!!
I've seen a few videos about the Gundam, but it was cool that you were able to give use the full tourist experience since a lot of us can't go ourselves. Thank you for the video!
Thank you so much for this tour! It’s like a mini vacation and much needed during this tough time. Can’t wait for this situation to be over so i can see this for myself, till then thanks Paolo for showing us around Tokyo!
You know, I generally try to limit my subscriptions, but I really love your energy and enthusiasm so you have a new subscriber. Thank you for your video. It looks like Gundam factory was extended until March of next year. Definitely going to try and go.
(I´m pretty sure it´s the only one in the world, FYI) but WOW !!!! thanks for taking us there, I have been waiting for you or other youtubers to go there or to other scale modeling stores.
Imagine in a few years they would already figure out how to make tis whole mecha work in real combat and there will also an academy to learn how to pilot it
