I almost died at Action Park, a couple of years ago. I was going down this 100 ft slide and apparently I almost fell over the side at the top. When I got to the bottom, I didn't realize anything happened but a lady was crying and some lifeguard kept asking if I was okay. My friend thought it was hilarious. Awkward that people actually died there.
I remember this being one of my first Gmm episodes to watch still my favorite. You guys should still do more episodes like this where you research random things and present the information to us
God I miss this place. I lived 20 minuets away, and went several times a year. It’s craziness can’t be justified in these videos. They served beer there to everyone. That’s right, they don’t tell you everyone was wasted there. Good times, great survival stories, if you survived.
My mom constantly talks about Action Park from when she was a kid and how amazing it used to be. She heard it's opening up again and got SO excited and said she's taking me...I'm kind of scared for my life.

Don't worry. I work in an amusement park and nothing like this has happened in the 43 years that it has been open. The ride operators go through training a few months/weeks before it opens for the season. You're very safe at amusement parks.

Did you know that more people have died at Disneyland California than Action Park? And that's just one of Disney's many theme parks. Not kidding. Go look it up. It's greusome.
My Science teacher went in the wave pool and he almost died. Cuz he started drowning and the lifeguard just ignored him until somebody else dragged him out!

The lifeguard was probably drunk. It wasn't uncommon since they sold alcohol and didn't properly check anyone's age. Also the staff had easy access to the alcohol and no one monitored them.

That death trap was as dangerous as advertised, no matter how popular it was. Fun as hell, but still an out of control death trap.
Kasatka Tilikum That was proactive thinking. Another Action Park classic, was drunken staff breaking into the microbrewery they created at night, stealing the Motorworld cars, and driving them on Route 94.
They forgot to mention the Kayak ride where you get to ride in your own kayak down a shallow river. Apparently somebody's Kayak flipped over so they needed to flip it back, so they went into the water. They ended up getting electrocuted and dying because their foot touched a stray wire on the bottom... not sure if this was Action Park or not, but that's some freaky crap

Jadelin Romain Mountain creek water park is what its called now. Its one of the best water parks I've been to well besides the whole walking on hot concrete barefoot
My school playground as a kid was probably a hazard. The slide was kinda rusty and probably not up to health standards. It was awkwardly balanced on some wood logs. It wasnt as dangerous as that amusement park, but pretty dangerous for a school playground.
I actually when to Action park, on a school trip no less, as a kid. I remember the water slide was concrete and it wasnt smooth at all! They gave u this flimsy,thin styrofoam thingy to go down on and it cut the shit outta my legs! No joke! It was crazy fast to.Ive never been on another water slide ever again due to that ride! No supervision there at all. Young boys r rough by nature, when they were in this park they went bat shit crazy! Lol. Jumping off the cliff into the pool was pretty cool.
I saw one video about it, they said they would advertise to spanish speakers nearby in jersey, but none of the staff spoke spanish. So the 14 year old giving safety instructions has no idea how to tell you what not to do.
It wasn't exactly that the staff didn't give af. The staff was 14-17 year olds. They said that they'd have 3 17 years old managing the whole park at once and the 14 year olds were running the rides. It was more the owner didn't care.

ACTION PARK!!!!!!!!!!! I survived going there as a kid. Oh the fun memories. That looping slide was no joke. When I went, there was an accident there and an ambulance. Someone got stuck in the loop. It was insane.

I'm sad to say this but I was there last summer it is not named action Park it is named mountain Creek water Park everything is improved and the cannonball loop never came
At dream world in Australia there's a slide that does a full loop, my friend got stuck in it and had to have people come take him out. It starts with a vertical drop that's a few storeys tall.
FMKdiamondZ No, you'd get stuck at the top because you wouldn't have enough speed to ensure enough centrifugal force to continue all the way through the loop. At that point you couldn't just slide down, it would be like falling from a two story building...not high enough to kill you, but high enough to hurt a lot.
Swag Master Technically I suppose they're both correct. The tube would be applying centripetal force on you and you are applying centrifugal force on it which when combined is what allows you to complete the rotation (given enough speed) and not die.
The adrenaline from fact that you're in control and there is the chance of getting hurt is probably a big factor of why action park was so popular. Couldn't they make people sign waivers and stuff so they could continue that way?
TV would probably make a few "adaptations", you know, to make more money by implementing more commercials or restrict the subject matter of the episodes or something. that would suck.
New addition: Schlitterbahn in Kansas City. The slide decapitated a kid. I went with my little sister just a month before this happened and we were having weight issues but they let us through anyways. Scary to think about.
