World's one and only Demodara Railway Loop | Part 3 of 5 Best Attractions in Ella, Sri Lanka

This is world's one and only "Demodara Loop" at Demodara Railway Station.
Because of the geographic situation of the nearby mountains, the railroad is designed to take a loop around the mountain & then go underneath the railway station (it's hard to explain, have a look on the video). Apparently, it's the only such construction in the world.

This may have been the only loop at that time Construction Engineer Mr.D.J.Wimalasurendra Railway Demodara web site gives the details

This is not the worlds only loop. There are many loops in other countries

Hi Thimira, Thank you for the feedback. I did some more research. We got this information from the Wikipedia page here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demodara_railway_station It says: "It is considered the only loop in the world with a railway station situated exactly over a tunnel at spiral loop." I checked the two Wikipedia sources backing that claim, yes, it seems a little controversial. 🤔 According to this list, it may be true: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral_(railway) Hope a Sri Lankan train nerd can clear this up. 😀

Hi Bro, I have been watching your trip videos almost around a one year. My favourite video is 7 falls hike. Simply that is awesome bro. There are so many trip RU-vidrs in SL, but trust me you have a uniqueness compare to them. When I'm fed up I always used to watch that 7 falls hike video.
