Could’ve been a Gar. They like brackish water. I grew up on a Brackish lake on the Texas gulf coast. The bay backed up into the lake and a river flowed into it. I caught bass and redfish, Shark and Gar, Trout and Croakers, and other critters like crabs. It was a cool place.

we fished lake Shelby on the bigger pier portion this past summer and my brother in law hooked into a big bull red. didn't have a net to get him up and eventually broke him off. There are some big fish in there. We were using popping cork as well with cut mullet and shirm. Cheers!

I’ve caught some biiiig redfish out of that lake, as well as my PB trout (27 inches) surprisingly enough. Mostly catch them on the other side of the lake due to salinity levels, but there’s some big ones in there believe it or not.

Mannn, you , Matt and Brent are hitting around 80% of the time forgetting a net in your equipment, thus missing bunches of fish all the time. That is an absolute necessity because fishing a dock or in a boat, ya gotta have a net....c'mon man ..get with it!!! Owners of a Bait and Tackle store should know better. Lots of good content lost for real. You need to make a net a priority for every fishing trip....just sayin'... 🤔
