My friend Elfriede Zahler survived Theresienstadt she was transported 6th January 1943 with her mother Schewa Ruchele Zahler sadly Schewa Ruchel Zahler perished 7 July 1944 my friend was 8 at the time no mother her father Miklos Tomor Zahler and brother Gorge Zahler aged 12 were transported October 1942 to Maly Trosnet in Belarus and murdered 😢 how my friend survived was notice short of a miracle she was a Windermere child.

Meantime in Canada. During his visit to Parliament Zelenski got standing ovation. There was another person present who got standing ovation from our MP at this time. AP News confirming that the 98-year old veteran given standing ovation by Canadian parliament, is Yaroslav Hunka, who fought for the 14th division of the Waffen SS (SS Galicia Division). Yaroslav is WWII veteran of forces which fought against Soviet forces and technically against British, USA AND Canadian forces.

I am not surprised I asked questions about her before - banned on CBC. What happened is a fruit of long policy of all governments in Canada to protect the people like SS members. I've studied this history. know it very well. My maternal great-grandparents were fortunate enough to have emigrated from Austria in the late 19th century for the usual reasons. Like the German speaking Catholics and Protestants who emigrated from Central Europe, Jews were spurred to leave by famine, economic dislocation and political discontent. But Jews emigrated at a rate almost four times that of their non-Jewish neighbors, for they additionally faced severe restrictions on where they could live, what kind of work they could pursue, how they practiced Judaism and even, in some cases, whether they could marry. For them, America represented both economic opportunity and religious freedom. My grandfather, was born in Philadelphia, PA. in 1906. He later married my grandmother in 1929. She had emigrated with her mother and four brothers in 1923, My great- grandfather had preceded them to the United States in 1916, and worked to save steerage passage for his wife and children. It's very significant and fortuitous the family arrived before the new, more restrictive immigration law came into effect in the United States in 1924. The restrictive quotas therein remained in effect up to and including WW II. The Immigration Act of 1924, or Johnson-Reed Act, including the Asian Exclusion Act and National Origins Act, was a federal law that prevented immigration from Asia and set quotas on the number of immigrants from Eastern and Southern Europe. It also authorized the creation of the country's first formal border control service, the U.S.

I met an old SS officer when I was a teenager, he lived down the street. One day we covered them in school, I was confused he seemed nice. So I went and just strait up asked him why he had been in such a group. He looked at me and said they came and told you were going to join the Army they got the worst food, boots got sent in to die, but if you willing joined the SS you got the better guns,boots, uniforms and food it was a no brainer. He also told me how cruelly he was treated after the war in a camp. I never found that in the history books. War is simply a Honorable thing, there are dark secretes on all sides I think.

I was discussing one man I met as a kid and one of his best friends was an Vietnam vet they both go on for hours about the draft and stuff not in history books over beer they both seemed to be nice guys sucked into war -now that said Ive read horrible things about both wars so Im not defending them just saying things seem to be missing as many things are@@gsomerville5335

I know me and everything that has happen to my family and me, I reach deep inside my self and remember God's words. Live thy neighbor as you love your self.Then I look back and know I wasn,t sin free. So God says thy shell not judge if you gave sin yourself, and he tells us all we have sin in are lives. History is important thing to learn so we all know what past generations around the world has gone through. And you will find out all of are generations have gonna thru some k8nd of war through history.
