Key points: 1) All mutators can be used to unlock frames. 2) Damage through temp health is okay, as long as no actual health is lost. (4:25) 3) Bots are bugged and can cause you to have damage taken even when no health is lost. 4) Sprinting off high platforms (11:45) gives 1 fall damage which invalidates the run (credits to @M1911pap). 5) Don't place auto turrets, they can shoot through you and give you damage taken in the end game stats. Many thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences, so I've made this guide and hopefully it helps those who are trying to get this done. Use Medic class with masking stims to solo New York 3 without bots, with the mutators - Cannon Fodder, Light Waves, Looter, Die Hard, Wild West, and Double Benefit. This removes specials, making it much easier to deal with the zekes. With "Die Hard" we get more health and temp health to soak up any hits taken in between masking. "Wild West" allow us to start with the Revolver so we can make use of the "Bustler" perk to regenerate stims quicker with "Looter" active, and "Double Benefit" increases Revolver damage to kill zekes in 1-tap.

Exterminator with Temp Health works as well, perhaps the best man, as always, Exterminator is freaking mighty and OP, swimming in power increase and temporary health thanks to shotguns, Multishots, and surrounding fire from claymores. I definitely got hit but no problem. First attempt = win
I followed your guide and did not have the bustler perk or FMJ for the revolver and got it first try still. Just to show this guide is helpful and this is even possible without all perks :).
finally got it after 30 tries of not taking dmg and the best way is to go shotgun fiesta get an assault shotgun go explosive ammo light waves and no mini boss's use medic with the kill 15 zombie perk to get ur equipment back and just keep your distance from all of the zombies and just pop a stim kill 15 mobs wait 20 sec and do it again. nice video tho
Don't know what I'm doing wrong guys, following this great guide... I finish every time NY map 3 as medic, 100% health (tested with bends close to the end of mission) but I ended up every time with few points of damages, sometimes even 1. Sometimes I doubt to have received even 1 hit, but always under steam in case...
It is likely fall damage - others have tested it and showed that at 11:45 sprinting off the platform gives 1 damage and invalidates the run. I think you can probably avoid the fall damage if you walk off like I did. As long as you're playing solo w/o bots or teammates, you can take damage with temp health as long as no actual health is lost.
I've played the level around 20 times and I'm always getting 4-8 dmg taken even with temp health. 1 Dmg from falling then roll, if your character even moans or says ''ouch'' all it means is you took dmg. I don't know if the turret you down and you end up in the crossfire, ether way i stop using it. Anyways I'm going to keep at it.
Temp health works only with medic as far as i know. I played with Ext temp health got no dmg at all to my health bar, got hit while temp health was up and didnt get it...
@@pennywise1682 Oh okay, maybe that is why because bots are bugged right now. Not sure if it is because they can deal friendly fire damage when shooting in your direction, or that you take damage when they are nearby while getting hit by zekes.
@@xD3viLz didnt know that. I noticed that you get the red mark for taking dmg when bots get hit near you, but your health bar stays full. Def good to know, thx for the advice!

You may be doing something wrong then. Are you taking damage in the end game stats? If you're already playing without bots, the only other thing to take note off is fall damage - sprinting off at 11:45 can give you 1 damage.
Bot health does not count towards the unlock, but it seems like when you are close to the bots while they take damage, the damage gets passed onto you in the end game scoreboard even though you don't lose health (I haven't confirmed this personally but seems like what is happening).
I tried to do that with GS so many times: bots, no bots, no temp health, other random perks - always at the end I see some kind of bullshit damage taken out of thin air. What's up with that? :(
Your best bet is to run it w/o bots and make sure no actual health is lost. Also beware of fall damage as the fall-rolling animation can give 1 damage. I did it with Gunslinger as well in my latest 2 videos, damage through temp health is okay.
@@xD3viLz I had up to 80 damage taken with absolutely no actual health lost, I even made sure I always have temp health when fighting or dropping down where needed, I have no idea where so much damage comes from. Made recordings of my runs and examined them with friends frame by frame whenever I jump from height (where necessary in level) or when fighting with zombies - we couldn't find the reason. I also repeated your pathing and tactics on Descent almost identically. It's a real BS. Anyway, did it with Ext, HR, Medic, Vanguard first try and tried different maps even with specials on first two (save rollback), but still no luck with GS after 18 tries (15 without bots) even with cannon fodder. There must be some bs bug I am missing
@@Reality-Climax Try not placing any auto turrets, they can also cause damage counters to go up if I recall. And also try the Vanguard strategy instead.
@@pamelaganzin9806 Did you do it without bots? And what was your damage counter in the end game stats? If it was 1 or so, you probably got fall damage (sprinting off the platform at 11:45 can give you 1 damage and invalidates the run).
@@REDCELL1990 Others have tried it and it works for them. Try it again, maybe you encountered some other bugs that I didn't in your run. Also, can try it with VG which is easier.
