The guy was fighting back tears. Man i could almost feel it for him. I know it's not his first win, but damn it had to have felt like it, that routine was insane. The fact that those tricks were harder and he was still the most consistent/ accurate thrower is amazing. Well done bud 💯👍🏼
I thought the same. The riskier and most well executed is crazy to think. I feel like no one can do, even online, for a couple of years, a freestyle that can beat what Mir Kim has done on stage. Wild.
The _Asia Pacific Yo-Yo Championships_ needs to come back (The last contest was in 2019)! Ryuichi Nakamura needs to compete in it. I also think that APYYC needs to implement a rule where if you have 4 WYYC titles or 4 APYYC titles at 1A-5A divisions, then you shouldn't be allowed to compete for a APYYC title in any those divisions-except for CoC (Champion of Champions). That way there's space for new champions which incentivizes participation and growth. It's counterproductive to have the same few yo-yo players winning all the titles. I would suggest the same rules for the _European Yoyo Championship._
If you noticed Gentry Stein's recent videos on the 2023 WYYC and/or Mir Kim, he says that _he's_ been reigning world champ for three years and also how he wants Mir Kim to _become_ world champ. It's odd how he never acknowledged Mir's 1A wins at the Online WYYC in 2021 and 2022. Mir was tied for world champ with Gentry before they even met and his was twice in a row, and now thrice in a row. Gentry's own results were very inconsistent. He won the World title at 1A twice but five years apart in 2014 and 2019. In-between those years he ranked all over the place. He's not up there with the elite yo-yo players and realizing that is why he retired. Now if only he can stop revising history and stats!
