Great shout on stitching the sole!!! I ride slingshot gear now, but used to ride a HL board and system bindings and they would just fall apart far too quickly. I’d go through probably 2-3 pairs a season and the glue was always the issue.
Nice idea with the stitching for the sole. My free press 2022 fell apart in 15 weeks use. Hyperlite refused to warranty them which was financially painful for the retailer as they ended up out of pocket to replace them which I felt sorry for them with.
HL boots have been like this forever, they fall apart pretty quick in the water. Some good old marine rubber will help them stay together longer but in the end you'll just have to keep buying more.
@@tcrossau I got replacement ones from the retailer anyway as UK consumer law is very good. But yeah it’s par for the course to happen. Hence I think the extra stitching in the heal in the new ones sounds a good idea.
The board sounds amazing. Definitely thinking about buying. Little bit unsure about which size to go for. I do a little bit of rails kickers and some basic air tricks like raley and backroll. My height is 180 cm and I weight around 70-72 kilos.
I’ve got a pleasure and FreePress and the bit JB is talking about at 7:20 or so is very noticeable if you are right up on the end of the board the FreePress deffo sits flatter. Overall for my riding I still prefer the pleasure just as it’s a little lighter and I like to ride a longer board without too much weight (similar with the black list) but both are great boards. If you like to “tail butter” the FreePress is the king for sure. Try and get to a demo day so you can try them back to back.
How many of these did you break already? I just bought my fourth Freepress in two seasons. I broke two 2022 models, and one 2023 model 😢. Now I just got my 2024 model, and I absolutely love it, it's the best wakeboard in the world!
Im thinking of buying one but i really want to try one on demo days but the problem is that my park only has slingshot boards and im 98% sure that my parents wont drive 200km to try out a board
Hi, huge fan of yours! Question does the hyperlite boots and system bindings fit on a liquid force board ? Also would you recommend the system lowback or system pro binding ? I am a purely cable rider
Lowbacks, they should fit on all boards. If liquid force has a track system you will use the 6x mounts instead of the 4d. But yes will fit on all liquid force boards
Hey! The board looks great! That decent grey design works for me. In comparison with others HL boards, isn´t your model with a narrower stance? Are the narrowest holes in your model like those in the middle on anothers HL boards?
Freepress middle hole is equivalent to the other boards narrowest hole. So yes the freepress can get narrower than the other boards in the line In 2023 though maybe the wizard stick is just as narrow, but I am not 100% sure on that
@@jboneill I like more wider stance, so I really hope, that the widest holes will be enough for me. Looking forward to see your model in person. Not sure when it will land to Czechoslovakia.
Love the board man can’t wait to ride it! You should come out to canyon lake on my boat or meet at TSR so we can ride 🤙🏻 would really appreciate being able to ride with you
Nice nice, but what about the 2023 Space Melter 165 from Slingshot? Have you had a chance to try it somewhere maybe? For me as a snowboarder, the different shape looks appealing.
The boots do look really nice but the board graphic seems to be missing something. What was the idea of leaving one side gray without graphic?I would have loved to see the graphic edge to edge.
Hey JB, what does a board like this look like after a year of intensive use like you've had? Does it have many deep scratches or are they rather only harmless scratches. (Had now my first board and had after a season some quite depth scratches and even one that has broken through the Grindbase completely, that seemed a bit strange to me) Would be happy about an answer. Btw love your vids😃
i shouldve put my board from last year in this video. it really depends, if all the obstacles are unit and you are good about not smashing your edges into things then it should last a long time. If the obstacles are home made, you have to worry about screws and seams. If you go winching, concrete will eat through boards quickly. all of the brands I would say have an equivalent grind base. the main differences in brands would be the mixture of glue they use, the mixture for the sidewalls to make them harder or softer.
How wide are those shoes? I have wider forefoot and narrow ankle so I'm looking for wider system boots. I've been using older Hazes (Byerly) and Webbs that both fall short in that regard. Are there any wider models in Hyperlite's lineup at the moment?
Hey JB! I am thinking about buying this board, because I like to press on obstacles. What would you recommand for a boardsize for me? I am 176cm en weight 65kg Kind Regards, Nick
@@jboneill Thanks for your reaction!! I saw your video “I got a pro model” and go from 143 to 148cm. Last year I tested Slingshot terrain 148 and the coalition 149 and I ended up with a 145. The bigger boards where feeling like a big door to me and did not flex that much what I was expecting. So I little doubt about which size I need to go for. I only ride obstacles, no inverts from the water but I like some good pop on the water. Is the 148 easier to flex then the 145 or wil there not be much of a difference? Thanks again! Cheers Nick
I think you should do more give aways and interactive activity’s with the audience to not only grow your Channel but also .. so I can get a free vest.. nah but really I love seeing people that are well connected give things away
For a beginner, you won’t notice the difference probably, the 2023 is just flexier and lighter. In 2022 they came out slightly too thick so they are a bit heavier and less flex. I personally like the 2023 best
