Ok. I keep finding your videos and comments on places like rcgroups.com.... Your helping me learn my new boat. Thanks! I am a details freak, and I want to make sure everything is right before I take this thing to the water. I have completely gone over the boat out of the box. I snouged up several of the fasteners, inspected inside of haul with mirror, made two EC5 series jumpers for my four 5200 3S 80C hardcase packs, pulled out flex shafts and greased with marine grease. You told me in previous post to reinforce I/D where top meets sides (I saw pics on rcgroups.com of the one that split open). What product did you use? Resin or something? Also, I noticed the rudder had a nylon screw below the stainless one on top. Is this correct from factory? It didn't have nylon nut or anything hold it in??? I thought maybe the nylon is some sort of shear pin if it catches on something under the water. Thanks man!
Thanks! The nylon bolt is a sheer bolt and it should have a small nut on it as well. It's designed like that to break if you hit something. I used a very little two part marine foam and that's it.
Man after trying to break 90mph this weekend on my Miss Geico 29 and flipped it.Popped to motor mount and made go ahead and order a MG36❤️👍Looking forward to getting it this week and playing with the beast👍
I have both as well. Love them. Just ran the Miss Geico 36 yesterday. GPS 78 mph 100% stock with stock props, no adjustments, on only two 3s batteries. I got 71 at first, then moved the batteries a little further back and got the 78. Only thing I've heard about there being differences in the hulls is just that the miss geico hull is a little thinner

@@MrMad2424 I had my 1st run yesterday with traxxas spartus.. was great. It flipped though. Took in alot.of water. Ran it after but kept taking in alot of water. What you think. Please see my video on my page
I asked you probably a year or two ago about the difference between the two, but seeing it visually gives me a better understanding. The cooling definitely would be useful even though I've not seen temps higher than 123°. Looks like I could just swap out motors to make it as fast as the Miss Geico with the stock props. Like I said in the comment I posted a year or two ago, I'm not looking to go 100 mph, BUT it would be cool to hit it just once. Even though I probably won't ever try. I do want a better set of props though. I was told I'd be ok polishing and balancing my stock props, but I was interested in 3 blade with a little taller overall diameter. Anywho, Thanks a lot for visually showing the difference between the two. It's hard to differentiate between the two on Horizon Hobbies website.

What mm up do you run your drives with stock props ? Super cool how well you get these boats running. Your vids pushed me to buy the miss Geico and I think you have sold me on das boata props too! You bring the miss geico and the prop guy to the surface for many people with these you tube videos, they should appreciate you!
Thanks! Appreciate that. I only ran them one time I think the drives were around 2..5mm gap from them your straight edge on the bottom of the boat. Boat ran 80 with them like that with 4 3s lipos.
You have your flex shafts running in upside down V facing forward /\ correct ?? So did you switch rotation on motors ?? My Geico came with opposite. Right motor turning ccw, left cw. Shafts are \ /looking from back.
MrMad2424 out of the box my Geico was set up with left \spinning cw, right CCW /. Yours are opposite. At least that’s what I’m seeing in vid. Am I missing something here. Up close your right shaft looks \ . I enjoy your vids of your boats and speeds.
I just built one since they are discontinued And only place i could find the struts was in the UK Love this boat Mines the Slowest on the planet Im not trying to wreck it Thats what my blackjack 42s are for 😂

@@MrMad2424 what are the specific differences from V1 to V2? To me, all I see is Tx & Rx. V1: Tx Spektrum DX2E 2-ch, Rx Spektrum MR4000. V2: Tx Spektrum SLT3 3-ch, Rx Spektrum SR315. From what I can tell, motors, ESC, drives, and hull are same?

I installed the motors from the Mis Geico 36 in my OG Zellos 36. I have been getting conflicting stories about the speeds. Everything else is stock besides the new motors. Its a lower KV motor but will I get faster runs? I haven't made it to the pond just yet this year. Im getting worried that the replacements aren't any better than the Zelos 36 original motors. The new 3674 1900kv are way more powerful than the 3650 2000kv motors. Way more power. Can spin a bigger prop without over heating as well which leads to more speed.

Again, Thanks for the reply. Looking into those dosboata props now. I have the UL -19 and its a great boat as well. I may get one of these stronger motors for it. Its already too fast and hard to keep on the water. Im going to put some weight in the nose like you suggested. Im going to shoot for that 100mph club sticker 👍

What makes the Geico 36 go faster than the OG Zelos 36? I can see the difference in drive strut length, but is that what makes the new Zelos go faster?
Great video. What would be the best way to get more run time. The lake I go to is nowhere near as big so no speed runs for me....full throttle is abt a second or 2
Appreciate that Bro! If you keep the Sonicwake on plane more it will get a lot longer run times. You and Big gap were letting the boat rest in the water too much and having to take off again. That's an amp drainer right there. Any Fast electric boat will only get around 5min run time without killing your packs. It's just the nature of the game.
I have the regular zelos 36. I got upgrade props for it and im struggling with keeping her on the water. Ive been gradually adjusting the angle of the struts downward to compensate, but do you have any tips or ways to help keep her on the water?
what are the battery straps on the Geico? i did a bit of a cartwheel yesterday and the batteries tore off the straps and punched one motor off center enough to shear the flex drive. lucky i have foam fill which stopped the batteries exiting the hull.
Quick question Mark😀 the bottomsurface of the zelos hull should be flat right? If you put a ruler across from the left sponson to the right the ruler should lay flat in the area where the ruler touches the hull right? There’s not supose to be uneven or gaps? My hull has a gap on the sponson side faceing in towards hull centerline.
MrMad2424 i see. In my case the gap is 1-2+mm along most of the pad(from alittlebit behind where the bow cuver flattens out and back to halfway onto the rear pads. At the very rear edge of the rear sponson it changes to both surfaces being slightly sloping to the same side . Kind of hard to explain. I have couple of testruns now, where i have exagerated strutangle and cg in an effort to observ the behavior.
Also the rear sponsonpads are not 100% paralell to each other in the lengthdirection. So if i set the strutangle by placing a ruler on the rear pad the strutangles end up slightly different
@@knutroald5332 They will be tolerances due to them being man made. It's not too big of an issue with the handling. The sponsons if they have "dips" or aren't square when laying a ruler on one sponson (in the center of them) then this causes porpoising but that can be fixes by blueprinting them. Most RTR have some of these but not worth fixing unless it's causing you major issues. Then you will want to sand and glass them over again

Thinking of using a bigger battery as in weight. Maybe revolix bats. Do u use heavier bats for added weight in the front. Thank u sir.

Did you watch the entire video? Don't think how I could show them any better unless I measured the entire boats on video. Horizon sells or sold them as "Zelos 36" RTR boats.
I will definitely admit you have great speed runs they are great but you also state stock boat right out of the box but come on man they're not you did a prop you did a battery upgrade you did something otherwise everyone's gonna have one right...,?
Not unless they know how to set up a boat they're not going to be as fast as mine. Also no hobby grade boat comes with batteries.... My boats are all stock with just a simple prop swap.. The same batteries and props I run can be bought but no one still is getting the speeds I get so I would say no to your question that if someone else puts on theirs what mine has it may not do same as mine does.
