TRC spent the day in miami beach at the unveiling of the Worlds First Gold Plated Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. The owner of the car is Brett David the CEO of Lamborghini Miami.

actually there is one. I saw it in the Guinness book of world records. one of the richest man alive. almost everything he has is pure gold. his bathroom, his car etc
a car uses pulse width modulation to dim the LED... so it looks like its flickering... you can also see it flickering just by eyes but then you have to look peripheral because eyes are more sensitive on the sides than in the middle... and thats why you can see it much better with a camera because they take even more pictures per second... (sorry for my english its not my first language)
Its a spaceship that flies on the ground! Wow! Gold! So how do you keep it clean? Jewelry cleaner or what? I like it,no doubt! But man,that's ballin' out of control right there! Take one in chrome finish,also. Hot!
Look on ebay for Gold or Chrome Vinyl Car Wrap... You can buy enough wrap to do your whole car for about $600 ... I have an old Mercedes that I want to do in either chrome or a Blue tinted chrome, because it has Blue leather interior... the vinyl has micro air holes in it so that when you put it on, it won't bubble and when it settles, the glue backing kinda seals the tiny micro holes of the material...
This is acually a paint/plating job. at 00:59 you can see gold on the inner-door. Vinyl wrapping on the inner-door would be too thick and would not allow the door to close. Just saying....
Oh i'm sure it is, but with how thin the coating of gold is (20-30 millionths of an inch) i would seriously doubt they have more than 10-15 oz of gold on the exterior of that car. While for paint, you have 2 coats of primer, about 2-3 coats of paint, and 2 coats of clearcoat. So.. sure a gallon of WET paint weighs about 10lbs where that same gallon filled with gold would weigh ~160lbs.
it is a wrap. it was done for a promotional video for Lamborghini miami. visit their RU-vid they have a video of the whole wrapping process. it was pretty amazing to watch. also there is no way this car could be gold plated regardless. you can only plate metals the car is made out of carbon fiber.
Who ever came up with the idea of making this Aventador Gold plated, is totally defeating the purpose of lamborghini's light weight construction that lamborghini spent millions on tests on how to make the car much much more lighter to get a much better power to weight ratio....
Exactly i think the same, i even got a 100% gold ring and it gets pretty fcked up after a few months/years. I need to polish it again over and over. Its frustrating for a single ring, imagine now in the case of a car.
