Yeah but id argue the truck is better because you can take it apart and still have the open box. All you need to do is buy a bed cap and then its a van again
I have a Chevy avalanche and it works great. Sometimes you’re carrying something that you don’t want to get inside of your cab whether that’s the smell of gas or dirt or something you’re hauling away. That’s the advantage of a pick up truck is that it separates the bed from the Cabin. And then if I need to carry something longer like a piece of furniture kayaking, four wheelers and of course I can make any new adjustments needed.
With a hardshell over the bed, this could be a very interesting camping build. You can remove the rear seats and make a bed inside, put a refrigerator, etc. Better than a tent or rooftop tent.
That is the exact same way to drop the back wall in my 04 avalanche. Will say i do really like my avalanche it has been reliable with almost 200k miles and i definitely take her into places and do chores she was never meant to do.
The possibilities of campers and toppers with the pass through built in is amazing to think about. This is literally the first time I have ever considered buying a Chevy in my entire life 😂
Glass is glass unless it's Lion glass...a new greener 5 Times more damage resistant form of glass from I believe Penn state university research team. You can also make it thinner and lighter and still be double the strength/ damage resistance. 🧙🏼♂️
Not for nothing, but my 1994 Honda del Sol was practically IDENTICAL, except my glass rear window was motorized. Also, my "tailgate" worked more like a rear air dam, but my del Sol ALSO HAD A SAIL PANEL, and was ALSO PAINTED BLACK .
That's what the original Avalanche was... A 5'4" bed that could "convert " to an 8'2" bed with the tailgate closed...the back window in , bed covers on and cargo being kept dry. It the possiblity of having 8' utility when you NEED it without having to drive around & worry about parking it full time. I had on for 11 years...most versatile vehicle.i ever owned
You just.. have an open cab at that point? Wow what a feature! They could have accomplished the same thing by just having a power window and structurally supporting the frame.
This is what you get when truck people design a truck and not tech nerds. As much as I want to demo a Cyber truck I want to see the Silverado EV even more. Shame about the design language of the front console though.
That's creative. If I ever go electric, I'll stick with legacy auto brands rather than startups; with the exception of Tesla. Oh and not the Cybertruck, their other models I'm fine with 😂
Perfect, so the loaded material hits you right in the back of your seat and breaks your neck when u have to perform an emergency break - smart design Chevrolet 😂
Statistically speaking, just being a passenger or driver in a truck is a higher risk of injury than in a car when in an accident due to it's increased mass and ride height, according to the NTSB, so in this case... YOLO! :-D
It's a Chevr-o-legs though, you will be walking before you know it. 500 miles of range does not make it a better truck if 500 miles only makes it at 30 mph.
I wouldn't mind myself one of these just to have...but in all fairness i couldn't have all that power and do nothing with it so i would be smart to get my ass on the move with it and make myself som ecash
Why didn't they just call it an Avalanche? Oh because in calling it a Silverado it makes the Silverado meet the epa requirements on fuel efficiency on average. Same reason the Mach E is a Mustang and a Bronco Sport is a Bronco. Too bad, they have some cool names they could reuse and it would be awesome.
GM has made some of the most impressive and iconic engines in history and continues to including the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in history, Corvette Z06 5.5 liter flat plane crank 670 hp V8 just to name a one.
