I had to build a new worm farm after moving house and leaving my old one behind. I always like to have a ready supply of worms for when I go fishing as they are one of my top baits.
I needed to build a new worm farm but I didn't want to spend much money. This DIY worm farm cost me almost nothing to make.
Worms only need 3 things to be happy and multiply:
1. Food
2. Shelter
3. Other worms
The important thing is to find a place that can stay relatively cool and allows them to move away if things get too hot.
I collected some free bricks, got a bag of shredded paper, used some vegetable scraps, made things damp and added worms...it was as simple as that.

As a plumber I certainly wouldnt build your worm farm or anything for that matter near your hot water service. Your lid has an inspection opening cap for access to either your sewer or storm water. Lets hope you have, like most people covered over either your sewer or stormwater inspection shaft. Apart from that its a great idea.

Thanks for the tip on being close to the hot water service. I didn't think there would be a problem there. With regard to the worm farm lid, that was just something left in our garage when we moved in. the stormwater inspection shaft has its own cover.

Hi great video as usual. I’m about to start a worm farm You have 3 different types of worms I was going to use only euro nights using smaller ones for whiting and bigger ones for trout ect. Any comments regarding this different worms for different fish would be appreciated thanks in advance.

My experience has been that the Euros attract the most fish. I use other types because I don't always have a large enough supply of the Euros. I've caught lots of fish on all types of worms - tigers, blues, Euros, flat tails and scrubs. If I was to chose the absolute best type it would be the scrubs. The only reason I don't use these all the time is that they are so hard to raise. My second best choice is the Euros. You can select the size of worm for the size of fish you want to chase, as you have mentioned...and they do seem to appeal to most fish.
