Important topic thanks for all you do Dr Fuhrman! I am a plant based cardiologist and know you have inspired and saved so many lives, more than most other doctors! Love your book Eat To Live. Hope to meet you at a conference sometime. I just presented at ICNM in DC and you were mentioned frequently. Keep it going!

Dr Furhman, I'm 76 years old and I feel 35 ish. Totally now Nutritarian. On and off since 1970. ( Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit started me off). On and off, raw foods, vegetarian, etc since then. You set me straight. No dairy, oil, feeling great.its hard to listen to friends talk . I try. They can't hear me although their husband's have heart issues. Thank you for at least changing my life. I continue, although I am alone in my household. If you have a goal to live to 107 plus, that's motivation for me. Young people think they have forever. At 76, life has my attention. If I could post a picture, you'd never know❤

The difference between taking Vit D supps and sunbathing, is that the body moderates how much Vit D it wants from the sun.

Supplements is not a long term way to get health. Eat a wide range of whole plant based food and some B12 and you will have a great health. Don’t forget light exercise and some meditation every day. Invest into your self and your own life.

But if someone has osteoporosis don't they need about 5000 IU of vitamin D or more???

Isn't that ironic. He talks about how beneficial k2 is in animal products but don't eat animal products! What? Also wouldn't a proper diet include all the nutrients you need?

Cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn has a book on Lipoprotein(a), he says Niacin, CoQ10, Lysine and L-carnitine are good for heart health, but those 4 nutrients are also highest in absorbable form and amount, in various animal foods. On another page he says those same various animal foods are all bad for heart health. He also recommends B12, K2 and Taurine supplements but those 3 are also highest in animal foods. So the 7 nutrients best for heart health are all in the animal foods that he says are all very bad for heart health.

Yes, I would think if a diet was so healthy and nutritive, why would we then need to take additional supplements? I get sun every day, but B 12 and iodine (no table salt) I probably lack. Omega 3 from nuts and seeds.
