I think you may have made this video specially for me :) I heard you mention to do this at the end of the day before you even go home. Can one do this on a chair? or maybe even standing? Laying down in a public place especially on a bathroom floor is never going to happen ...voluntarily :) thanks

That's a great question. My opinion ibased on my own exploration. These Red Pattern movements, the front opening pandiculations work best when on the floor because you get to relax open with the pull of gravity. When doing the movements seated and standing, usually the back has to pull you open. I do have a few movements that do work well seated and standing: The Diver Raya's Butterfly ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hu5AwZiFnAM.html The Basic Seated Sequence ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Mt3FYGieOoE.html The Diver ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6_RHp4surhk.html I have another movement that's in the works, still to be edited, called The Sidewinder. That is the one I do to relax the diagonals of the front while standing. Thank you for the question.

Hi Eric - Richard Eshelman here. Love❤ the way you are integrating emotional release into this video. I’m a firm believer in Thomas Hanna’s belief that Somatics would be the next revolution in Psychology therapy. Love❤where you have taken this work. Sincerely Richard M. Eshelman

Thank you so very much, Richard. Your words mean a lot to me. Thank you. My personal practice saved my life. I had been a depressed person for so long. The practice has liberated me from the seemingly dumb and automatic tension pattern. We are stuck in the well practiced echoes of the tensions of of the emotions. I am trying to get the word out to the world. Again, thank you. This video goes further into tension and emotion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b3j9r272Opc.html

You are very welcome. If you teach your system again and again, you can change the habit. You can do it. Really, you can heal yourself.

Good for the abs as well,

Yes abs-olutely. It's easy to carry tension in these places. Why carry more than needed? For me, this pattern, this tension runs deep. It's strong and can run and run. It is such a liberation and pleasure to be out of it. I'm glad you are exploring it. Figure out your most important movements. Stick with them. Then explore the edges when you have the luxury of time.

Some practice sessions I do the bare minimum which is front and back. I usually use Elbows to the sky for the front. Mostly (Yawn Your Wings) + (The wishbone) for the back To go further I do front back and sides. The side bend is very good. Lately, I often use the SSSS, the Side-Sitting Scoliosis Sequence for the sides to have a deeper liberty. To go even further, before a hike (my wife and I try to hike 5 miles every day), I add rotation/twisting. I like Sunrise, Sunset + The X of the Front Sometimes the Amplified Angel Wing which can get both front and back diagonals. Something like these are my typical basic practice: Intermediate 3 Movement Practice Sequence to Feel Great Elbows to the Sky, Side Bend, Wishbone + Yawn Your Wings from Costa Rica 6m:09s On youtube ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zVxbHgZvsuo.html Lazy Rainy Saturday Basic Practice Sequence 2022 6 movements, 9 minutes, the major lines of the whole body. Elbows to the Sky, The Metronome, The Wishbone, The Side Bend, X of the Front + Sunrise, Sunset, Unsitting On youtube: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bvM2JCJe4As.html

I did this movement plenty today,i do feel like my mood is more relaxed. I feel almost lazy but kinda happy, almost like i want to laugh a little. It could be that mg tight muscles affected my mood

That's beautiful! Yay! Get ahead of it. Make that non-depressed feeling your new normal by practicing often. I was able to escape the way my system had normalized that tension pattern. You can do it, too! Dive in to your practice. With even the slightest drop of those type of feelings, you will likely find that the tension is revved up. Practice often. Make the new tension habit. (The tightness and the mood/feeling are inextricable. There is not one without the other. )

@@ericcoopersomatics I really enjoy the way you explain the movements. You are a very good teacher Eric. I have had chronic pain for 17 years since I was 18 years old and it has gotten worse . I was only in my lower back and hip and has now spread throughout my body as the years have gone by.I use to be a provincial road cyclist, had to stop because of pain. Half my life has been nothing but pain.

@@redpilled9595 I used to race on the track. In my late teens I was a devoted bike racer. Notice that builds strength in exactly the posture of depression. 4 years ago I made this video about about the position of bicycling and how it relates to posture and stress tension patterns. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gyj5OHlqGO8.html

I know how bad a painful, tight, achy body can feel. Your nervous system is running that situation. Now, I am completely pain free. At 60, I feel better than when I was 30. It takes practice and some dedication to this form of self care. My experiment is to only do this version of Somatics. I believe this is the most efficient direct way to make the change you need. At first you're pulling the car out of the ditch. There is enough on my youtube channel for you to free yourself. If you need guidance, please contact me.
