I’m 4 days postpartum as I’m watching this with my 3rd son. Recovering from childbirth ( c-section) takes a toll on your body and mental health. I always tell myself we’re only 4 days into this new life together and we’re figuring it out. Be kind you don’t know what impact you may have on a mother, trying to figure it out. Be kind to yourself too.
Wishing you a good recovery! Remember to give yourself some grace, because I’m sure you’re doing great. I hate mom judgment and honestly I don’t know who has the time for it 😂 I’m 5 months postpartum with my 3rd and adjusting from 2-3 was rough. My other two are 3 and 2….i still feel like I’m in the trenches some days!
My fav thing I saw about the 17 diapers is that meant the baby’s diaper was clean and dry. People were accusing her of neglect. I am a mandated reporter and to me it was a sign of the opposite. That baby is loved and cared for.
KIM!! I died laughing when you said it was it was 67 degrees😂 I’m sitting outside on my deck with a cup of coffee, in my pjs, with my newborn on the monitor beside me and it’s 54 out here. I’m in Minnesota and it’s so warm for October. I love your videos so much!!😂 Always brings a laugh to my day❤️
Tired grandma of 5 here .. raising 2 and caretaking the other 3 ages from 7-3 . I’ll be 51 next month and though I wouldn’t change having my grandchildren so close and seeing them everyday , it does get overwhelming sometimes days ! Thank you for the motivation!
Kim you made excellent points about the postpartum moms. I can’t believe other moms can be so judgemental!!! We need to be kind and support each mom. It’s the hardest job but the most rewarding job. Thanks for bringing that up. I’m a Mimi and I supported my daughters after they had their babies so I know how hard it is !!❤️❤️❤️so to those judgmental moms out there just be kind and understand!!!!!
I love how supportive of other moms/women you are. I don't understand all the self righteous comments I see. My husband and I have no support system around (no grandparents or family) and it takes every fiber in your being to brush your teeth or take a shower after a long day. I wish people would understand that ...
Kim, I think you are the most down to earth person I know. I love how you promote kindness. You should Pat yourself on your back because you are a super mom. Well done, girl! ❤️👏👏👏❤️
I haven't seen the diaper video but, i saw a video of a man talking about it.. he said something along the lines of... you see 17 dirty diapers i see that her baby had be changed 17 times.. and that she's get to cleaning up the diapers but, her first priority was making sure baby was clean and taken care of... i loved every minute of him sticking up for her.. ❤❤
I'm an exhausted mom of 1 little boy he's 2y8months now, still not potty trained, he's not ready and same for me, he had speech delayed (now he's doing better) so the communication is so hard and I don't feel like he's going to understand it, and I don't have the energy to suffer and make him suffer too just to be called a "good mom" I do what I feel like doing nobody is going to do it on your place anyways I don't ever judge parents cause everyone is doing his best Thank you darling for sharing these gold words Sending you love from Morocco
@@zinebmahjoubi1992 my son had speech delay. He’s six and autistic and he’s not able to have conversation. He’s slowly getting better. He’s made the most improvement over the summer. When it came to potty training, he showed signs by always taking his diaper off. I put on the coco melon episode of potty training and read books to him about potty training. It took some time but he got it. Every kid is different and it doesn’t matter how soon or how early your kid talks, walk, or potty trains. Albert Einstein was a certified genius and he had speech delay. He didn’t talk until he was 5 years old. That being said, you know your son and when it’s time, you’ll know. Keep it up momma. 💕
My son finally potty trained at 3y6m, and tried for over a year and I wish I hadn't put so much pressure on myself because when he did get it, he only had an occasional accident after. Seemed to just click... Or just decided that he wanted to be. 🤷
Your school system most likely offers speech therapy at no cost. My friend’s son was very frustrated because he could not be understood. After a week of speech therapy he was happy and eager to go. He was 3 years old. Just a thought.
As an older gal, I remember the commercial for Murphy's oil soap where two older cleaning ladies using it to clean the church pews.Good eough for God's house? Hi Kim, could sit for hours just listening to stories ❤ from Toronto
The only parents I “judge” are the parents that are oblivious to their own children being nightmares. Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs there is! So kudos to those who are doing their best!
So glad we are friends.. I literally feel like I am right there having these conversations with you.. BECAUSE … I swear I speak out multiple times like you are listening and agreeing 🤣😂 Thank you for being a friend 🎉
The way you rearranged your patio furniture is much better. It doesn't block the traffic flow area when you walk out. And your pantry looks great so organized and matching storage boxes
Man, what you said about others situations and having grace for what others are going through resonated with me. My sister had 3 children by the time she was 23 yrs old. They were a cake walk for her. Then when they became 13,14 and 16, things became vastly different. I had my first Velcro baby at 24 then 11 yrs later I had a Mega Velcro Baby 😂 so I couldn’t move an inch without my youngest and my next kiddo. But it was also easier in a way because I didn’t have multiple young ones at the same time. Now as one is 7 and the other 19, in their very different fazes I find I’m back on the struggle bus. I feel for people struggling with multi teens or mini adults❤❤. It’s so important to notice what others are experiencing and giving help when you can.
hi Kim! long pants am wool or fleece materials, we dress in layers as it keeps the warmth better cardigans jackets and scarves this is what I do in winter, some times we hit -23 degrades celsius here in romania 😅 but your cold feels colder because of the humidity. About the summer... well this year we had your summer and I get what you say we hit 48 degrade celsius at a point and it stood like this a few weeks
We had such a wonderful weekend, we moved 5 hours north of all our friends and we had a friend visit for the whole weekend. A weekend filled with laughter, bonfires, good food, drinks and food company! It was much needed!
Back in the day when I got married, the only wedding influencer was Martha Stewart. She published wedding magazines once or twice a year. I learned so much from her. I picked a theme of grape and wine which lead to my burgundy colour scheme, grape vines and the wedding cake with a grape design was based on a cake in her magazine…I live in wine country lol. I don’t know what I would have done without her show and magazines. She really was ahead of her time
About a month ago is when I finally tried to Nutella for the first time! For years I've listened to you rave about how delicious it is but I feared it tasting like hazelnut coffee creamer and I dislike that stuff! So my favorite go to snack right now is Nutella and Ritz crackers! 😋🤎 So good!!
My second child was a Velcro baby , I can tell you it was a shock she would just scream for no reason, can remember just sitting there the one day holding her just so she would settle till my husband came home to take over not looking after my self at all that day , we had women have got to stop judging other mums everyone’s birth experience and baby are all different. We should send out love and support to mums ❤
I shared a room with my sister and we used to rearrange our room all the time. We loved doing it and it made the space feel fresh. Can't say that I do it anymore but it is fun to think about.
Hey my last son wasn't potty trained until he was almost 3. The only thing that got him there was he was going to be a ring bearer in his babysitter's wedding. I told him he couldn't' wear a diaper under his tuxedo. That did it! He knew how to go potty but he just didn't care. Who cares when they're potty trained as long as it is before they go to school.
My mom and dad used to use Murphy's Oil soap cleaner on all the wood in our church years ago when they were the weekly church cleaners. I love that smell! So nostalgic for me.❤
One of the doctors I work with tells moms all the time “how many kids do you see in diapers in high school? They will do it when they’re ready.” It’s so true because it’s not about us, they have to want to do it and it’s not always a priority when they’re so busy just being alive ❤
When I first saw the video without seeing any backlash or support first thing I said to myself was "wow good job mama, that's 17 clean diapers the newborn got changed into, this baby has a fresh bum all the time" I didn't even bat an eye at the diapers all around, and that's what matters that mama showed up 17 times for her baby and that baby is healthy and clean.
In the midwest on a 60 degree day, jeans and a sweatshirt will usual do the job. I remember about 5-6 years ago my husband and I were meeting our friends at Disney the week after Thanksgiving. They had already been there for a few days before we were suppose to arrive and they were posting all these pics in their T-shirts and shorts. The weather was wonderful, in the 70's. My husband and I arrive and it is great the first day. The next day and the rest of the week are in the 40's. I couldn't believe it. The only warm clothes we had were the ones we wore down and what we planned to wear home. It was crazy. Needless to say I had to purchase a couple of overly priced fleece shirts at Disney. The day we were leaving to come back home it was back to the 70's. Have a great day!
I used to rearrange my bedroom all the time back in the day! I feel like I did it at least once a month lol! And, usually I decided to do this at 11pm on a school night. No wonder I never wanted to get up for school! lol!
I opened up all the windows in my house too when it got to be 65 this afternoon. I love this time of year when it’s nice and warm, but not too warm. I love it.
When my kids were babies, there were multiple times I found older diapers in the diaper bag because I couldn't throw it away at the time and then forgot because - mom brain! You do what you can when you're a new parent or have a new baby at home. We are all trying our best!
My daughter is 29 years old and is heartbroken about the death of Liam Payne. One Direction was a huge part of her teenage life….its so sad. great memories and music from Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis❤❤❤
Keep a pair of legwarmers in the car. You can rock that retro style while keeping your ankles warmed. Looks like all of your outfits show a lot of ankle and calf. I'm a midwest girl used to snow. As soon as it turns brisk, the boots come out for the next 5 months constant.
Add two tablespoons of finish jet dry from that is for the dishwasher to your glass cleaner and then use a microfiber to clean your windows with and it stops the kids smudges it works amazing
I'm about to do some cleaning and decluttering tomorrow so this video has come at a perfect time! ☺️ So glad your all safe after the hurricane 🥰 lots of love 🤍 from the UK 🇬🇧
I swear if I lived close to you I just know we’d be best friends because I have never met another mother that I actually felt like I could relate to. Thank you for always finding a way to let me know I’m doing a good job and stop being hard on myself.
My husband and I (that's my son in my profile Pic) got married On December 10th 2022. Our wedding was Christmas themed. We had Christmas Village things on our tables from Dollar Tree. I had lanterns to line our aisles from a craft project. Our Sign In was Christmas ornaments so everyone could leave us a sweet message. It was honestly planned in a month because my parents offered us a honeymoon
Kim, I am always wanting my counters clear, so I hide my toaster and airfryer, then we have to dig out of cabinets to get them. If we had more space, I would be happy!
Hi, Kim! Totally love and appreciate you. I wish you knew how much you help us out here. You're a real doll. About the mom video, I saw a brief clip (a short, i think) after she got all the hate and support. The one thing that I have not seen anyone mention, which I'm sure is a contributing factor to her PPD, is that she said it was about her "late" daughter. She mentioned that she was in the hospital with baby, then was able to bring baby home for a little while. (I can relate. Been there.) I don't think people realize that her daughter died, which has a big impact on the point she was trying to make. But she clearly said "late". Thanks for being so supportive to moms and everybody. You're a real light in this world. Love and Peace to you and yours. --Jessica, Tampa
I found the wall cleaner brand with the lady on the bottle in case anyone is interested. It's called Chomp! Painted Wall Cleaner Spray in Meadow Breeze.
I rearranged my room a lot too when I was little and even now I rearrange my room sometimes and the organization in the kitchen, which drives my family crazy so I've eased up on that lol. I always loved switching things up when I was little, yet my step kids have never done that.
Good morning! I always get a kick out of your bundling up at 70°. I just looked at the weather gauge on my clock. It's 46° here in Michigan and I have been running around in shorts and trying to get inspired to clean my house, too. I guess I just have to hydrate myself and get the work done.😊 Have a great weekend everyone! (Judy Vanderploeg)
oh man you reminded me of when my first child was born in 1978 when he would get up in the night and we just rocked in the chair all night because tv went off the air at midnight lol
Our minds are so similar. I giggle all the time watching when you bust out into song and laugh at yourself. Amazing motivation to see you overcome the overwhelm we all experience from time to time. Feels like I have a friend to clean and cook with 😊❤
Here in Australia October is the middle month of Spring. Where I am in Western Australia it should be around 25 degrees Celsius and sunny. Today it's 16 degrees, raining and very windy.
Yes, no judgement, especially for postpartum moms. My first baby was a hard experience. I had to sleep in a recliner for a full month after the birth. I could barely function for 2 months. We had to move out of our apartment half way through those 2 months.
You are so strong -- the way you just stepped up onto your kitchen counter like it was the bottom step on your staircase. You could lead the counter stepping class at your Y. And you would have the best jams too.
OMG! 7:48 The mom you were talking about that was only 1 week postpartum, that’s terrible they people were passing judgement on her. Shame on them. I’m 60 and 35 days post being 60 (lol) and I’ll looking at my house right now, laundry on the couch, dishes on the counter that need put away, last night take out containers on the family room coffee table etc. It’s life! It’s gets messy sometimes and eventually it does get cleaned up! Good Grief!
We would love to have extra storage in our kitchen ! We have an I've maker We use it alot especially during camping. Hard enough to organize the food sometimes lol !
Listen, I have 3 kids and I can’t stand when people get judgey and upedy. My 3 year old is literally exhausting. I love her to pieces and wouldn’t change anything but we are still on the struggle bus here. She doesn’t sleep, her fav thing to do is climb on anything and everything and the throw down tantrum ugh. So yes sometimes we don’t get to the dishes at night, sometimes I’ll rather just order a pizza for dinner and gasp there are likely dirty socks everywhere in my house. lol my kids like to stuff socks behind couch cushions or beside their toilet. Life happens people.
I love in Canada and cannot for the life of me do the calculation from F to C but I looked it up and NINETEEN degrees is the conversion, thatis so funny to me, yesterday for me was 17 and the sun was out , we were doing yard work and we were all in shorts and t-shirts LOL it was SOOOOOO hot. Your too funny lol.
I totally agree, Kim. Unless you walked a mile in those shoes, you do not understand. 20 years ago my grandmother lived with me. She had Alzheimer’s and was mostly bedridden. I had a two-year-old and I had a newborn and my child had colic and it was constant and nothing that the doctor prescribed or herbs given helped. He cried all the time I know I would skip days taking a bath or brushing my hair or even cooking. The only relief was to put him near the washing machine or our vacuum cleaner on bricks and let it run continuously. we bought four. Just as soon as you turned it off, he would wake up and start screaming. He didn’t want to be in a swing. He didn’t want to be on the floor. The only two people who could hold him was his dad and I. otherwise he would scream. And today he is 21 and swears he never leaving home and has only stayed off probably five times in his lifetime.
I snack on berries. I think I might hire someone to fold laundry. Postpartum is awful. 2nd and 3rd child I was gluing windows shut. Pushing furniture in front of the window. I had to be put on anxiety meds. Still taking anxiety meds years later in life.
I love the furniture reconfiguration on your balcony! It really opened the space. Have a great weekend, Kim scissor hands! 😂 (I call the junk drawer the "utility drawer" - softens the chaos.)
The new Beetlejuice movie was really good! My two youngest are 18 months apart. I am finally getting time since they are both in school. It's 77 degrees today. Love it!
So glad to see you this morning. A little bump in the road got me down and seeing your post this morning made me smile, and put things back into perspective. google vacuum attachment adapter cheep fix
When I had my oldest I didn't take care of diapers during the day either, my brother stayed with me for about a week and he cleaned up the diapers for me. My ex never change diapers never really helped out until our girls got older. I would consider my oldest a velcro baby when I did the dishes she either had to be in the carrier thing on my chest or in a bouncer next to me when I took a shower she had to be in the bouncer in the bathroom with me. I had to be in her sights at all times.
I remember you putting a bag of vacuum attachments on top of the cabinet in your laundry room in a video from a long time ago 🤷🏼♀ don’t know why I remember that but, check there! 😂
I’m with you about being confused about my wedding anniversary! We were married July 31,1976 my husband only counts the months that have 31 days! According to my count that makes 48 years! His count is less than!🤪
I feel so relieved that my daughter is not potty trained either. I have tried and it just isn't the time. We are going at our pace. She will be 2 on the 28th of Oct. My birthday is the day before Thanksgiving this year! 😊
