I think somebody already commented on this, but the PS pump isn't aligned with the water pump pulley. It's leaning back towards the wheel well on the drivers side. Sure looks like it anyway from the video. Still enjoying the videos - keep em coming!

remember I watch some RU-vid guy with a yard full Mopars, and I saw that goat and it broke my heart to see it all smashed and shoot up,and then watching you do a video of. This iconic car is a achievement, bringing it back-from-the-dead, long live the Pontiac GTO first muscle car!

I can't wait to see the holey goat be ready to go to Texas. The question is how long of a list of things that it needs before it's ready for the trip. I hope the trip happens cause I would love to see that forklift operators reaction since he said you'd never make it drive again.

I would be thrilled to attend a car show in The Goat. It is such an excellent car. Great to see you got serious with a new fuel tank. Having such a great repair job on the first one was a little concerning. The boys must feel so cool to be there in the best car. Happy memories for decades to come. Is JD often behind the camera? The Holey Goat exists because shiny paint and pristine bodywork are so over-rated. I love the sound of that beast when she's getting up in the revs, eh..... Rapt to see JD is sharing the love for the beast by bringing his mates along for the experience - although that young fella looked a tad terrified in one or two shots! Back in the day, I was syphoning gas from my car for the lawn mower (as you do when the nearest gas station is 10 miles away and you see clouds coming) with a lit cigarette in my mouth, puffing away....and it was only when a lump of hot ash fell on top of the syphon hose that my brain twigged to the fact that it probably wasn't the best thing I could be doing safety-wise. Fortunately no harm was done, but it scared crap outta me that I'd completely forgotten it was there! Your Fill-no-spill syphon hose - aint seen one of them in years. We used to call the the Spill-no=fill because inevitably the hose would pull out the jug we were syphoning onto and the bastard took so long to empty the tank! They say there is a trick to getting it to free flow once the petrol goes past the pump, but I could never get it to work - it kept going back into the tank and I'd have to start all over again. Nowadays I just use the tried and true Garden Hose method and leave the rollies on the shelf in the garage......

I have a fully restored perfectly conditioned 1965 mustang. However, I think you had more fun getting this car back on the road than I did. I may have put more money into my car, but I like what you did better. i’ve been thinking about my next project, and watching you work has changed the direction I think I will go with the next car I work on.

I've added vents and replaced all of the nozzles on my gas cans. Didn't cost much either. You can find them on amazon and ebay.

Don't throw that old tank away. Flush it out with water then either fill it up with water or run the exhaust from a small engine inside of it whilst you weld the neck back on. The exhaust displaces any oxygen so nothing can catch fire.

The HG turning up to a car meet in a Dollar Tree parking lot somehow seems appropriate. Should head on in there and get some upgrades to push its value through the roof.

What would we do without cardboard? Been laying on cardboard longer than i'd like to remember! When I get rich maybe I can upgrade to a foam pad ... probably not.

If you have an internal regulated alternator on it, run the sensing wire back to the battery. You always want that wire to go to the farthest point from the alternator so it knows how much voltage/amperage it needs to charge the battery. I rebuilt the one I have on the 65, Summit sells a kit that upgrades them to 100amp. They are easy to rebuild, would be good to teach the minor how to do it.

Don't ever get rid of this GTO. You brouhht it back from the dead, because anyone else will just not care and put it right where it was intened to go the scrape yard, like all your videos of the build and when you take it out a cruise. Looking forward to your Texas trip

I'm so surprised this car is roadworthy. You wouldn't get too far in Canada with this car without getting pulled over and impounded. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

For the filler neck in the old tank, if you really want to pinch some pennies and see if it can be saved, get a filler neck grommet for a 98 ford crown vic. cut a little X in the part of the grommet where it necks down real tight and BAM, perfect filler neck grommet that works on most late 60s early 70s passenger cars.

nice car meet. ^^ reminds me of a meet here in germany from years ago. a group of french fordoholics from alsace brought a rallyecross-spec Ford Escort Mk1 and sat it there, in all it'sbumped-up, caged, dirt-encrusted glory, with 12" tractor tyres in the back... it became the most-photographed car on the meet. XD a turned-around belt is new to me. maybe another pulley is misaligned as well? you might want to check on that, and maybe some support beam being broken. I once had a BMW E30 eat up the water pump because the rubber bushings under the alternator were almost gone and made it vibrate, killing the pump's bearing. you never know... drive safely, though I suspect people will do a wide berth around the holey goat. XD

Pulley misalignment. It looks as though the P/S pump is too far rearward. Belts like to track a perfectly straight line from pulley to pulley, and they get grumpy when they are not.

One thing about it, the GTO has more of a history than all the other car show beauty queens, if not, a more interesting story.

Maybe you need a good ground cable to the from the engine block to the battery. That might solve your starting issues with the battery relocation.
