Its so bad i fell asleep twice, but if I was in a theater with kids running around I would have demanded my money. These ignorant parents that have no control over there f ing kids makes me sick
Damn! You went off! Hopefully something good will come along. On a good note, I just saw 3 movies you recommended…Talk To Me, Terrified and When Evil Lurks. Each movie got darker and darker and I loved it.❤ Thanks!🙂👍🏽
Ohhhh THANK YOU!! I jut cancelled my discount tuesday theater trip, to save funds for a BETTER horror movie in future. I had HOPED you would be reviewing this soon and thank you, THANK YOU for doing so, you AWESOME...AWESOME hero!
I didn't even know this was about an angry cuddly plushie. I was into the "child's imaginary friend is not imaginary, and it's dangerous" premise. Why didn't we get that?
Blumhouse has been going downhill for a while now. They were killing it at one time, that's was at the beginning. I would be so ready to watch a Blum movie when they were announced. Not so much now, it's a damn shame!¡
Totally agree! The chemistry between the female lead and the rest of the cast was very lacking. I enjoyed the trailer and assumed there would be more to the movie. I went in hoping for a decent horror and it turned out to be some daycare thriller.
I'm hearing Good things about Love Lies Bleeding and it's from A24 there movies are usually good if your not turned off by Lesbian love scenes I'm going to try to go see it myself soon
Omgsh! Listening to GP describe how uncomfortable the characters were with each other and how uncomfortable he seemed explaining this had me PMSL 😂 Dude sounds like he’s in pain from the sheer disappointment. Soooo not funny due to wasted money, but I was laughing all the way through this. I’m sorry to laugh but the feedback had me crying with laughter. To be fair, I didn’t even think the ads for this one looks good. It hasn’t been on my radar to watch. Looks sh*t just from the trailers. Super glad for the feedback. ❤
K, I appreciate your honesty! I was really surprised some reviewers enjoyed this movie. When Ken Sledge said he liked I was shocked but appreciate he connected to dad's story in the movie. This is something for the teeny bops. But I feel for this generations teeny bops bc the quality of their gateway horror movies isn't the same par as those of us from the 80's and 90's
I get really happy when I get to see a horror movie in theaters, too! When I lived in a city, it would change my month. My picks are often lumped into the 'artsy' category...but I wish people gave 'different' and 'slow' a chance more often. Side note--movies like this or the FNAF franchise are so many kids' intro to the genre. Rose Red and the side story about Ellen were mine. My nephew loves FNAF so I gave him Little Nightmares but...maybe too intense...
You are not alone with your review for Imaginary. The woman who has Spooky Astronauts from Australia says basically the same thing about the review to not pay money to see this film. You are awesome and have a beautiful weekend!!
I actually expect less from the movies released in theaters than from some of the gems you have turned me onto on Tubi and Hulu. Piggy was such a good film, characters you care about and great last act. Hollyweird is digging its grave movie after movie. I feel sorry for the theater owners, I really do
Great man, your comments on this movie are phenomenal. Just like I wrote you, i could'nt see Imaginary and after what you and Spooky Astronaut, wich I really loved her comments on horror movies, said i will wait to see it streaming on Netflix or Tubi. It is really disappointing taht BlumHouse seem to make more money instead of giving us real good horror movies. It is a real shame. I supposed that Production Houses want to make money but at least they trying to give us something taht we really enjoy wit a good story and fantastic cast. Keep the good job Bro, you are really teally fantastic in what you're doing.
I definitely appreciate your honesty, and I always look forward to your reviews. Keep up the good work! I used to get so excited for Blumhouse releases, but now they're totally hit or miss for me.
It's been a rough start to 2024 for horror movie theatre releases. And you're right, Blumhouse is dropping the ball lately. Thanks for the honest review Kainan...I will skip this one!
The direct to streaming vs theatrical release argument is really the best point. Good constructive criticism for the good of the genre and not just shit flinging.
Thanks for keeping it real. Crappy screenwriters and directors need to know they can't just throw garbage on the screen and expect people to eat it up.
Man thanks for saving me! I was thinking about watching this next week…I’ll wait till it’s free. Can’t wait to hear your review of Late Night with the Devil! Heard nothing but good things so far.
Thanks, K-Ghost, fo your honest opinions and insights into this movie. I only watch your videos regarding horror/sci/fi movies. I prefer to watch a horror movie with substance and some intelligence. Why were horror movies so much better back in the day compared to now? What? No one can make a decent horror movie (Blum House) anymore? I wonder what Blum House's stock value is these days????
When you go see a horror movie and you are in a theatre full of CHILDREN, and that they are so bored of the movie that they just run rampant for over an hour - that should be a perfect example of a failed movie for even their unintended audience
I thought I was going crazy. There were about two dozen people in my theater. I was easily the oldest. My daughter, at 15, was the youngest. Everyone else looked to be in their 20s to early 30s. I was the only person there not laughing or cheering and having a good time. I'm not saying I won't see another Wadlow movie. I just know alcohol will be a must.
Glad to know I’m not missing much. Maybe on the bright side I know there’s a movie that won’t scare my 3 and 5 year olds who are getting more and more curious about horror? 😂
Man I missed the premiere by a few minutes! Blumhouse was the dark horse for so long, coming out with really innovative stuff. It makes me sad to hear how Jason Blum is just all blah and about the cash, it's like the Disney of horror movies. We want quality and not just a machine pumping out drivel. Plus, why use writers with proven flops, I mean Truth or Dare was a joke, it was soooooo bad. It also seems like these writers get horrible casting agents, they all seem to have no chemistry even with cheesy dialogue. I'll give this a pass. If you want a good "teddy bear" movie, watch Benny Loves You.
I remember back when Lionsgate was that studio when it came giving more niche Horror films a chance (or foreign ones). Now they have their own subsidiary for it and man are they blowing it! I'm still going to have to give this a watch, but thank you for the great review. It seems like it's ALL bad across the board. Awesome shades bro!
Seems like Blumhouse is just basically putting out any shit that as long as it has an official title. A somewhat suspenseful/Jump scare trailer. People like us, horror fans, will actually watch it. WTF BLUMHOUSE??
I saw this with my son and friend on opening night. It was terrible. Halfway thru I asked my friend "isn't this supposed to be a horror movie?". It had all the old tropes; family moving to new location, angry stepkids, step parent trying to connect with children, past trauma... I told my friend at the end that this could've been released on Disney+. The youngest daughter's acting was so "theater" and hammy it was terrible.
I had a gut feeling this wasn’t going to be good. Isn’t just you man - other people told me it’s crap. I there are a lot of RU-vid channels that give everything good reviews and shill crap so they don’t lose their access. Love your channel brother!
I knew it was crap the minute I saw the trailer, just like this movie Tarot that is coming it looks the same as this. Predictable and horrible jump scares. This and night swim were so bad same script demon in the pool and then demon in your imagination duh.
That scene where Chauncey lures the teenager with the pull cord as if he was playing with a kitten is infuriating. Right from the beginning, when he just cannot see the toy that is right within his field of vision.
It's too bad that Blumhouse has a reputation for lame 'horror'.. I will totally still watch thier movies, but I have no expectations of getting blown away, just entertained while I'm cleaning or doing laundry or something.
Thank You for the heads up Kainan on this fiasco. I could tell by the trailer it wasn’t gonna be good. Really love your honesty and opinion on horror movies. You’re always right on the money!
I haven’t been impressed with a lot of the Blumhouse films lately. I feel like the concepts are interesting and even though they always start out pretty cookie-cutter which I now expect, they never really get much better from there. Most kinda end up getting worse and finish as expected….But I’m not one to criticize. Mostly because we tried to make a psychological horror crime mystery with a 2-man team on a beer money budget once and it was about as terrible as you’d expect! :)
I have to agree, I love movies. But I have become weary with watching some. Three of them being House Shark, Land Shark and Velocipaster. They were so bad with very bad wooden acting and even worse dialogue. Thanks for the warning.
The random dude that the daughter has a fling with is also just terrible, like did any of these guys even have acting experience? And the voices the little girl does is so cringe
Agreed. Blumhouse has put out in theatres the worst crap in horror over the last few years. Obviously they're cash grabs in the most blatant highway robbery way. Not worth the the theatre experience at all.
You KILLED this review. I feel like I’m the only person on the planet that liked it 🤣🤣🤣. I feel like this is gateway horror made for kids, but was marketed as something it wasn’t.
Yeah it is gateway and I’m fine with that but you don’t have to dumb things down and make a poorly written, poor dialogue, silly characters to do that. Look at all the 1980s gateway we had. I think we are all being to kind to blumhouse and not holding their feet to the fire and expecting better movies.
For sure. honestly think the dad/daughter hospital sub plot is what brought it up so much for me, watching him give EVERYTHING for his little girl was an amazing moment i didn't see coming.@@GhostPirateEntertainment
Could tell by the trailers that Imaginary and Night Swim were going to be meh as hell. Looks like the best horror films aren't coming out until the 2nd half of the year. Then again, looks like this Spring has a few good ones upcoming. 👍 "We need to ask for more. We need to expect more than this." I feel you, bruh. On levels.
If Blumhouse want to make money and also something that would interest fans then I suggest teaming up with other production companies and producing "Hannibal vs Jigsaw".
BLUMEHOUSE unfortunatly has been putting out some real crap ! And also unfortunatly Universal is trying to push this crap at HHN and the houses always suck !! But anyway you are right !
@@GhostPirateEntertainment Yeah. I really want it to be good... Or at least like it for myself. It will be disappointing for me if I don't like it; I was looking forward to seeing it from the first trailer release.
