You’re pretty resilient to pain at that age.. plus the video cuts out a second after it happens so we don’t know if he truly took it like a champ although he probably did. The real pain will hit him in a few hours after the adrenaline wears off and the swelling starts to balloon.
Thank you all for the positive comments. He broke his tibia and fibula about 4 inches above his ankle. They had to repair it with a rod and three screws. He’s doing really well! He’s kicking a** And taking names in therapy! Definitely has a long road of recovery but he’s doing well. Thank you!
Hope he gets through, I tore my ACL around the same age, took about a year and fully recovered and started playing again. Just be there to support him and sometimes the best thing to do is stay out of the way and let them figure it out on their own (in some cases, not all)
Fr- Like I was jumping on the trampoline back in the 3rd grade and then jumped a little to high. I landed on my foot and it didn't hurt to bad but still hurt (kinda faked that it hurt for a bit ngl. But sorainig my foot was way worse-)......went to the doctor and they told me I broke the side of my foot 🧍
I've seen worse. Today at the Wisconsin girls basketball semifinals, a girl got pulled down while trying to jump for the ball near the hoop. She fell face first into the ground and ended up getting stitches from a cut.
I broke my leg in the same spot. It's a good thing je is young. It took me forever to trust my body again after that break. I hope he's recovering well 🙏.
Bro, i feel bad for the dude, and that snap was loud so I guarantee its something serious. Idk if its the knee or anckle by the short amount of time recorded at the ended when the injury occurred
I did the same thing last year with four more breaks throughout the calf . You have to get the screws removed or it will hurt when you run . Hope you get better.
I was playing a game on my middle school team, and I shot the ball and it missed but one of our guards jumped up to rebound the ball, but when he came down, his right ankle snapped to the right. He was right next to me, and I could here the snap, and I saw the bone pushed against the skin. Have a good day.
Bruh I don’t play that much basketball but I don’t think a jump should break your leg like that I mean rewatching it he didn’t land wrong he landed with both legs straight. I don’t get how he could break his leg like that
Damn that’s that Kevin ware injury… wonder if there’s something we can do to get a better understanding of how to prevent this type of injury. Definitely not supposed to open when just jumping
