The issue i felt with aidens looks is that they were very 2 dimensional. It’s like she came up with the first idea that fit the theme and then gave herself 1-2 hours to complete it. They’re fine looks. Like, if i saw those two looks at a Wednesday night small gig and she said “oh i just made this today” I’d be like “ok werk fierce!” But like, for the drag race stage they just needed a lot more effort put in.
@@TrishaSpectacle i mean, Aiden’s looks are far from groundbreaking but I thought they were at times more interesting and less predictable than some other "polished" looks.
@@o1l2i3v4i5e6r7 that’s fair! And there is something to be said for not over-complicating a look. Sometimes simple is just the most effective route. Take for example some of Sasha velours color blocked looks that rely more on variation of shape or textile for interest then having wild designs. I think the issue is that they were simple but it didn’t feel like there was anything of visual interest. Like let’s take the rain look: maybe instead of the flower on her head she could have paired the dress with a yellow slicker jacket that had a contrasting floral print on the inside, and for hair she could have a more “wet look” wig. To me that would still keep it simple but could add a different kind of layer that was missing.
I love Aiden’s style. For me the worst look that season was for Brita’s Madonna look, that was hideous. It was not a runway, but it landed her in the bottom as her performance was great. I think those were looks the show gave them, that was sabotage. I also really disliked SP’s ball look, that green was hideous.
I just don't understand the hate behind Cynthia's look considering it was just a red shirt and basketball shorts... there has been uglier stuff from past seasons.

I think it's worth noting that Aiden made most of the looks that she brought on a very small budget. They weren't all on the same caliber as the other girls, but I don't think any of them were offensively bad.
@Tommy that was made on set, not something that they brought with them and it still looked better than Britta, although I thought Aiden and Britta should have been in the bottom over Rock.
Im so glad folks are supporting Aiden. I actually loved her looks. Sure they may not have been thousands of dollars but she served. I can’t imagine sinking 10k + on a garment. Unless it was mopped lol
In all honesty, I think the third ball look was cute. It's simple, but it's not particularly bad. The reason I bring up budget is that she had to prepare 20 looks and only had (I believe) $2000 to do it with, so she made almost everything that she brought.

@@dancingrick1014 I doubt it. It’s not a nice outfit. Just because it has tracks attached on it doesn’t mean it would’ve been a good outfit for that song. I don’t think this outfit is a good outfit for anything but the garbage.
@Vince Guibert They apparently move around lip syncs a lot. They moved the Malambo No. 1 lip sync to the sugar ball in season 5 when it was originally going to be the telenovela episode.
Lol at the lack of Monet looks for Season 10! I’m not even talking about sponge couture because I live for that. (Denim and Diamonds, Martian Eleganza, and Alaskan Winter I’m looking at you.)
it was nice, but didn’t look good on her. she didn’t style everything with it right, and it didn’t fit good on her. it looked very awkward. the actual dress, if it was fitted and tailored to someone else, would’ve been amazing
Dusty’s Golden Boot dress was from the feathers-themed runway. The same one when Kameron wore that gorgeous Maleficent-inspired outfit, and Aquaria was the angel shot with a bow and arrow.
The funny thing is my best friend's mom in middle school was real cowgirl chic and Mystique's look is TOTALLY something she'd wear to the cowboy club. BUT! That doesn't mean it is okay for drag race. DR is meant to be fabulous, high fashion, innovative looks, nothing about that look is any of those things, it's too realistic and boring for drag. So like, I get where Mystique is coming from, it's just not the place for your fashion to come from for drag race.
Despite everyone hating that look of hers, I find it okay enough. I don't hate it at all, I'm not wowed, but there were FAAAAR worse looks on S6 than that, see Magnolia Crawford's cow couture, Kelly Mantle's bacon couture, Darienne Lake's droopy jewel couture

I love ya’ll but to name 4 from season 6, and none of them were darienne’s brown sack. Like darienne’s dress attacked me spiritually. And then I gave up on religion when ben got sent home by that js😭😭😭
I think about Mystique wearing that purple blouse for both the main acting challenge AND the runway in the same episode at least once a week it’s just so wild lmao

Dida Ritz Girly Girl is actually my least favorite non design challenge outfit of all time. I can’t believe you didn’t mention it when talking about Season 4
I miss the earlier seasons of Drag Race, before it turned into this HUGE comporate machine. When Ru seemed to actually have fun with the girls and having more candid moments that aren't "for the camera" lol. Also the appreciation of crafty queens. I get you have to sew, but comparing some past winners looks to newer winner's runway looks is such a stark diference. I remember Sharon wearing a t-shirt on the runway and Spirit Halloween beer costume at the finale. They ended up winning the season. Love it, need less polish please. As Adore said "I'm polish remover bitch"
Yeah, just watch bussy queen. She said something like u need minimum 20k to put together looks and work with designers. And the queens receive 500$ per episode.
If you want more Porchop because honestly who doesn't, she was heavily featured in the 2008 documentary "Pageant" about the 2005 Miss Gay America pageant. Alyssa Edwards is briefly in one scene and I'm not sure if any other Ru girls were in it, but if you can your hands on this documentary, you should DEFINITELY give it a watch.
Hot take y'all, Jade's "best feature" look wasn't that bad. People just don't like that it had hair, but probably wouldn't have batted an eye if she used fringe instead of hair extensions.

Okay, so, I totally get why y’all gave Jiggly the Golden Boot because that look was a *mess* but hear me out... Jiggly _made_ her look. (Same with Alisa.) And with extremely limited time and supplies. Madame either _paid_ for hers or perhaps she did construct it herself. But even if she did make it herself, she had all the time and resources in the world when compared to the other girls. Basically, it like when someone is charged with murder but the sentence is _far_ worse if it’s proven to be premeditated. Madame LaQueer’s crime here was premeditated and should hold the harshest consequences. LOL. (And, yes, this way of breaking down these look fails can be used in other instances as well. Such as the lovely Cynthia Lee Fontaine’s roller girl look. Yiiiiiikes. LOL.)
It may be a rumor but didn’t jade wear that solely bc they were told it was gonna be “whip my hair” as the lip sync but they had to change it last minute?
i heard something about jade wearing the hair outfit coz she knew she’d be in the bottom (she had something else) and they were originally told that in that week they’d be lip syncing to whip my hair but the judges & songs were changed last minute. maybe they were just trying to justify it idk.
I might be the only person that sees wasted potential in Tempest Du Jour’s poncho thing. If it was paired with the right pieces, I think it could sell as a really cool cyberpunk moment. There’s something about a shapeless nonsense garment that I can’t help but love 😂 But she definitely served us “Looking for the return counter at Ross” instead. I want her back for All Stars so bad! She’s so much better than what we saw on her season
Let’s not forget Santino Rice said Alyssa had the worst dress ever. Clearly, he didn’t know what he was talking about ever. Especially considering what we saw in seasons 1-4 were obviously worse and Jade’s hairy look was before Alyssa wore that black and red rose dress.
Mera my darling, how could you forget the feathers runway from S10? That's when Kameron Michaels brought out her best look of the season with the ICONIC dark raven winged outfit!! That episode was also when Vixen and Aquaria fought in Untucked.

The thing about Cynthia’s rollerskate look is that she literally said in Untucked that she had red bell bottoms but decided not to wear them for some reason.
Whats worse: the fact that I dont agree with most of these choices while not knowing a single thing about fashion, or the fact that Im voicing my opinion on RU-vid ;)
