I've found a few brand name gems at DT, like a favorite sealed Revlon lipstick still in stock at Ulta, and China Glaze and Sally Hansen nail polishes that were fine and not separated. Many of their name brand repackaged cosmetics are ancient stock that seem to have been stored in hot warehouses, so most are likely not even worth the $1.25. A lot of things at Dollar Tree seem hit or miss, but you can say the same for expensive stores and brands too. Thanks for showing all the flops!

20 years ago I knew a woman whose husband worked for a very well known testing lab, and he said the amount of chemicals that leach out of heated plastic trays and into our food is frightening. Additionally, I have often wondered why Canada jumped on the cheap shampoo and body wash bandwagon. Every second or third bottle in that aisle is indicated as a product made there. Where are they sourcing ingredients to sell items for $1.25 ? Labor costs, benefits and taxes are not low in that country.

Ioni has some good products. In order to keep the top closed I put something on top with weight, then walla it stays closed. I love the 3 pan eyeshadows and they had individual Nyx shadows in great colors for our age I'm 66. Grab the name brand when they have it. They do have some good makeup.😊 Happy shopping

But finding those name brands is a matter of luck, or if you know someone in the store familiar with the weekly shipment's contents. The selection used to be much better so I'm thinking online discontinued makeup vendors snatch them up first.

Wow Kathy I really appreciate all the work and money you spend to make these videos. I would have been suspicious of the more familiar products that are sold at DT. I have to say I have seen products that disgusting at Marshals and TJ Max. Thank you for this and I will be looking forward to your next video.

Hi Kathy Appreciate the info and am throwing out the teeth whitener from DT right now. Will skip the cosmetic dept there from now on. Considering that researchers found 53% of just the products they tested contained carcinogens how many more were there that they didn't test. Just not worth it. Would rather pay a bit more at drugstore.

I think it may be the whitener pen, which I think they removed and just have the whitening trays now. The candles are REALLY bad.

I no longer go into the Dollar Trees because I find it depressing. The last time I stopped in, it looked like your photo and there were kids who were old enough to know better, running, I mean running playing some game and only one man at the register ignoring what was basically chaos all around. He didn't care and the shoppers clearly didn't either and I was low level horrified at the state of affairs. I like to enjoy shopping and the Dollar Tree is for the most part a snapshot into cheap made in China junk and Americans love of a bargain even when it really isn't. I imagine all that stuff ending up in land fills after a short span of time. Yes, I have bought cleaners and craft items there, but It's just not worth it to me. Just being honest, lol :o). oxJulia

I totally understand. I feel it is a functional shop, rather than a pleasure. I go every 2 weeks or so to get to, paper towels and maybe seasonal plates, napkins for my work break room when I bake for them. I honestly enjoyed the good makeup products and skincare I found, but I don't make a point of buying replacements for them. ❤

@@kathyabeauty I totally understand and I used to go for a few things myself, but the company doesn't seem to care about the state of their stores. The one I went in was like a tornado went through. Maybe it's only this way in my area? The other thing to consider is you can't return things, (I checked their website to be sure I was correct on this). If you buy several items and half are a fail, then you have spent more overall so that isn't a good savings really. So you did a great service trying all these products and losing money in the process, so we all thank you for that Kathy! oxJulia

I actually did return something there and they said I could trade it for another item, but no refunds. I felt like a heel returning it. Back then it was only a dollar. I think it was a manicure set and the scissors bent when I tried to use them, lol.
