Maybe it isn’t that they aren’t exactly needing to step up their formula game. It that other more affordable brands have stepped up their formula game. But, the higher end brands still want that money for their name, the same formula standard. Then they wonder why their profits fall off.

I don't find your reviews to be negative, I think you're always quite thorough with your thoughts! Even if something doesn't work out for you (which is inevitable), I've noticed you always try to think of someone else that it might work for. It's crazy how different individual's lashes can be. I LOVE the Callie ray mascara. It gives me curl and length (not as much volume though). The best part is it's the ONLY mascara that doesn't smudge on me.

If Urban Decay called it Naked Forrest it would fit the palette better and improved sales. The Naked Line is more subtile, neutral and sheer. By a palette that is called Wild Greens you expect bold colours, more pigment and a punch instead of a washed colour. Naked Wild West is even bolder as this one. They should have switched those colourstories.

two videos two days in a row!!! this brings me joy!!! i almost bought the caliray mascara because i’d heard a few people say that it was an amazing mascara, and now i’m soooo glad that i didn’t buy it. the urban decay wild greens palette was half off allllll last week, but there was still no way i was going to buy it. lol. i hope your adorable son is sleeping better at night. 💜💜💜

I found with tubing mascara that you have to build them up while they're still wet because they don't like anything added once dried. You should try it and see if there's a difference

So interesting to hear your review of the caliray mascara! I've had the exact opposite experience and it's very quickly become my new holy grail. I'm a big fan of tubing mascaras though because non-tubing formulas almost always transfer on me, so I'm sure that might have something to do with it. If you do give it another chance I'd recommend not trying to layer it in multiple coats though. I've always found that the best way to use a tubing formula is building it up fast before it dries down.

@@AndreaMatillano I haven't had any problems removing it! I've found with all of my favorite tubing mascaras that the easiest way to remove them is by letting the steam and water from a shower do the work for you. I double cleanse at night and my specific routine is go in with an oil/balm cleanser to break everything up > rinse off first cleanse in shower so only the mascara is left on > do your normal shower routine but don't do the second cleanse yet > last thing you do before getting out is go in with a second cleanse to remove any leftover traces of makeup, including around the eyes. By that last point my mascara always just slides right off!

@@AndreaMatillano also tubing mascaras don't usually respond to traditional makeup removers or cleansers unless they're paired with a lot of warm water. I've found that pressing a reusable cotton pad or washcloth soaked in warm water to my eye for a few mins also loosens the tube and lets you take it off pretty easily

I’m really sad how far Urban Decay has fallen. I have mostly Colourpop palettes now, and those are so pigmented most of the time. The Wild Greens intrigued me until I saw mostly bad reviews. To me, Born to Run was their last good pigmented palette.

Yes! Thank you for saying that about the ELF creamsicle palette, I was so excited about it and when I tried it I was so disappointed. I am very fair skinned and it barely shows up and all blends together and looks like nothing on my eyes!

I thought I’d love the colourpop brow pens because i read good reviews, but it’s really hard to create hair-like strokes because the ink just doesn’t even come out as it should (even when I had just opened it). And the color is too light & the tip is tiny but too soft… making it much harder to control for me. I can only use it to create the aegyo sal look now hahaha I’m glad it’s not just me struggling with this product! I was doubting myself lol

Great products from covergirl! Their skinny brow pencil, clear brow gel, blushes, exhibitionist mascara, matte bullet lipstick, some of the cream bullet lipsticks, their two step liquid lipstick :)

Fave thing to share as of late: 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Grande Brow actually works 😭❤️❤️ Had to use it for a solid month or so to see the hairs (which stuck around after a couple breaks or so from using). I'll continue using it to see if the hairs will darken. I bought the $27 pack from Ulta or Sephora that has the mini brow, mini lash, and mini mascara. The mini brow and lash have the exact same ingredients. I like the thin brush on the lash one so much better since it gives more precision. I'll keep whatever is opened in it's own small baggy to keep air out. That definitely helped. I hope they keep this trio around because it's such a money saver. I've heard before that full sized anything has the same amount of product as a mini, so that's my logic now too. There's a duo that's $2 cheaper, but that's basically a free mascara with the trio! Hope this helps anyone who's thinking about it. Wish I tried it sooner. I've got depression and the lack of eyebrows contributed significantly to it since I've been around a bunch of RUDE people! So growing them out more and trying an eyebrow tint at some point to avoid microblading! Sorry for the essay 😂

I am loving these videos!!! Watching the best of next! I have to say I cannot layer ANY tubing mascara. I have to build before it starts to dry or I’m screwed. I have short light lashes and it sucks because I actually love how easily the tubing mascaras wash off. 😭😭😭

Wow CaliRay mascara works great for me! None of those problems you had. No raccoon eyes everything comes off easy. I noticed that you have to get used to this mascara. I have long but sparse lashes this worked great. Anyway that’s why we are all different! Thanks Andrea 💕

I love hearing when products don’t work out. For me it was the L. A. Girl precision lip liners and matte flat velvet lipsticks. The liners were waxy and awful. The lipsticks had no pigment and looked weird. I never return stuff but these were returned. I love L. A. Girls eye liners so I was shocked the lip liners were so bad.

I think this also shows that you really no longer need to buy high end products to get quality anymore! It’s wonderful imo! Great video yet again! Edit: that elf o line photo looks like the pumpkin bite size palette doesn’t it? The other terrible brow pen is from Ardel! It’s end frizzes and it dries out fast.

I used my points to get the caliray mascara from sephora and loved it . I think it's definitely preference . I do tend to like a heavy mascara and generally only use 1 layer . Sometimes I'll end up liking a thinner mascara more if it dries out a little.

I'd love to see your 2022 favorites so far. :) It's helpful to see the worst-of videos as well! I appreciate that you go into detail about whether you think a product would work for other skin types. I have super dry skin & am constantly on the hunt for anything that will make me look glowy and dewy, so I think the Kosas foundation might be worth a shot for me, but everything else sound like things to avoid. You have no idea how much I honestly appreciate this (and others like this) vid. I had looked at the Pixie by Petra Moisture Lip and was thinking about getting one! I'm so glad I didn't. It's all well and good being told/advised which products are favourites - but, in my very humble opinion, I think knowing what failed is equally, if not more, important. We Europeans cannot return substandard products, therefore we waste a lot of money on rubbish products 😒. Thank yooooooooooo so much Andréa, you're amazing ⭐ Love ya loads 💗💗💗

Wow I’m surprised you had such bad luck with the Caliray mascara! I got the full-sized one in a Trendmood box and I absolutely love it; it’s quickly become one of my favorite mascaras. I often buy drugstore mascaras simply because Better Than Sex (which works well for me) isn’t good enough for me to justify the price. Come Hell or High Water IS a mascara I would shell out $24 for. I get great volume, curl, and separation out of it. Just goes to show how different products work on different people, I guess!

Too bad about the reformulated Bareminerals concealer. I currently use the old formula, so I guess I'm going to need to try something new when I'm done with the tube I'm on. Old formula was the Bareskin concealer. Haven't tried the one you mentioned in the video.

I actually have several items I am enjoying from CoverGirl. Their lip balm is soooo good. I’m also trying out the matte BB cream and TruBlend matte foundations and like them better than the high end I’ve tried. I’ve never gotten on with their mascaras though like the Clump Crusher that everyone loves.

I totally get what you are saying about red tone brow products. I feel the same way! The skin around my eyebrows is super red and the last thing I want is to make it more red. Cool tones I feel look the best for brows. Glad you tested out the Colourpop brow blade because since they were having 30% off I was tempted to buy it.

I have that kit with the mini mascaras as well, and I hateeee the ilia one, the saie one does nothing and smudges everywhere. I actually like the caliray one haha. It really made my lashes look so good, I wonder if yours was bad? The item one has a weird wand but actually looks nice, and I haven't tried the just one yet.

Honestly, my most disappointing product lately is the Mercury Retrograde palette. I did get it on sale and heard other people say good things about it, too. Some of the shades threw me off a bit, not how they appear in the pan at all. Also, the glittery shades are annoying and patchy. The foiled looking ones are nice, though.

I recently got the Essence Double Trouble mascara and love it. It has a dual brush the is curved on top to curl and defines and adds volume. My bf picked it out for me cause I am still in self isolation due to have 3 autoimmune deficient illnesses.

I loved the UD Cherry Palette but none of their other palettes appealed to me. I prefer Natasha Denona and ABH best for eyeshadow quality

@@AndreaMatillano haha oh man! So basically get a mini if you want to try it 😂 it seems like Sephora is really trying to hype it up so maybe it will be in more of their app exclusive deals. I feel like tubing mascaras actually DO build up really easily on me? Like that’s what they’re supposed to do? But I have lots of lashes, they’re just light and fine hairs. Maybe under a certain number of hairs it works the opposite way? :S

I'm not in love with the Kosas Concealers and I tried 2 diferent colors. They are good depending on ur need but I have ones that are so much better so I skipped the Kosas Foundation so good to hear... thanks!

Thank you so much for watching! I feel like they haven’t been producing the highest quality products for a few years. It sucks because they used to be one of my favorites! I still like some of their staples like eyeliner and mascara but I feel like their eyeshadows are definitely lacking.

I will say I don't typically love tubing mascaras so I might not be the best judge of the formula compared to other tubing formulas! I also have really terrible lashes so I don't have much to work with unfortunately. 😂😭

I'm really lucky. I'm in my 40's, but I don't really have fine lines under my eyes. Each eye has literally 1 line under them that have been there since birth. However, what I DO notice with my skin is that it's starting to get crepey 😭😭😭 which is way more noticeable with makeup. I've found that finding a concealer that doesn't enhance the crepey-ness is almost harder than finding one that doesn't enhance fine lines. Every one that I've tried where multiple people have said that they're great at not enhancing fine lines so does a crap job when it comes to my concern. It's to the point now that on most days I forgo base products altogether and just do a pretty eye look with brows and a lip of some kind and be on my way!

The only two products that didn't work well with my oily/acne prone skin are the Urban Decay Cosmetics Hydromanic Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation and the Kosas Tinted Oil Foundation. Both of them made my skin itchy even when I tried it on my skin they didn't work well. My skin still gets itchy every time I use the Kosas tinted oil foundation. For eyes, liquid eyeliner never works well for me

Do you like a hydrating concealer or more of a matte one? The new Saie concealer is really nice but it's super glowy, so it depends on whether or not you like a glow! The KVD Good Apple has been my favorite because it's more of a matte concealer!

I've tried quite a few products that haven't worked for me, but just recently I got the new(est) Milani mascara, the Highly Rated Anti Gravity 🙄 after all the hype I'd heard I was expecting an almost false-lash effect... 🤦🏻‍♀️ probably one of the worst mascaras I've ever tried, it did absolutely nothing for my lashes, no length, no volume, no curl, nothing! 🤷 I probably applied five coats trying to make it work but I just ended up with clumpy lashes, it looked as if I had three thick lashes, soo Betty Boop-ish 😆 and as soon as it started drying out, flake galore! 😳... nope 🙅‍♀️ I simply don't get the hype... am I the only one? 🤔

I feel like a good tubing mascara would be so nice for the lower lashes! That's when I notice my mascara will smudge the most!

I use the Caliray as my last layer. Every non-tubing mascara on the planet smudges on me, so I use other mascaras to get the volume And length I want, then seal it with the Caliray.
