Michael is a real adventurer! I like how he gives the Ranger Tug a good workout in weather/seas that I think most other boaters wouldn't attempt to cross. I think Michael has some big balls! Anyway, I enjoyed the video and will look forward to some spearfishing in your next video. Love your videos!

Sea Nest or Sea Wolf you guys are fun to watch. After looking at various vessels we have decided on the R-25. We pick it up late next month. We are located in SW Washington along the Columbia River. The plan is to navigate all parts of the mighty Columbia sprinkled in with towing it up to enjoy the San Juan Islands. We appreciate you guys sharing your adventures 👍

As a sailor myself, I will never be caught without a lifejacket when in blue water or even inlets. Granted, sailing is much more involved than this type of cruising, but you never know if you need to move about the boat in a split second.

Thanks GreyG we love hearing from you ...and yes, we are in a unique category of little boats , and are most always the smallest and most talked about boat at the marina in the Bahamas.

Great video. Glad y'all made it safely. You are spot on, the venomous barbs from a Lionfish can be extremely painful. Stay safe and enjoy your adventure at NASSUA ❤❤ Blessings

Surely in a sea state like that you’d be better off on a slow plane with more stability than lolling around in displacement mode? Enjoying the content now I’ve discovered your channel

What a fun adventure! Did you feel queasy after all that bumping? I boat all the time on the Puget Sound but have never been in the open sea. I dream of a little Ranger Tug- I think it would be perfect for the inland waters! Happy motoring- stay safe!

Luckily, none of us felt queasy - so grateful for that! We are just visiting the PNW and your waters are breath taking! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

What average speed were you running at while enroute New Prov? Ranger makes much ado about planing speeds...but in your offshore passages, my impression is that you typically choose hull speed or thereabouts, yes? Our visits to Nassau (both plane & boat) have always been interesting; hope yours are, too.
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
Hi Jack, we typically travel around 6 kn in rough conditions. When there is a light shop we can run at 27 to 30 miles an hour. The boat fully loaded will do 40 miles an hour. We actually spend most of the time travelling at 6 knots.

I'd like to learn more about the safety line and hardware -- I like the West Marine Offshore inflatable vests and O rings. How long is the line? Do you have a line on both sides of the boat? Where is it tied off?
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest 11 месяцев назад
Hello Ray , the line is typically tied onto the starboard side as that is the side most of the equipment is on. I can quickly move to the port side by using the midship cleat . The line is 20 feet long. This allows me to get to the bow and the stern.

Are you on the factory anchor or have you changed it?

@JimBurwellsPetiquetteHouston
hey there folks. is there a recommended distance behind to tow the dingy? What's your tow line?
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
While towing we generally have the dinghy about 30-50 feet behind the boat . Depending on the weather conditions. The bigger the waves , the farther behind the boat.
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
We use a floating line. It helps to prevent it from getting stuck in the prop. Although it still can do this when you are in reverse setting anchor.....a mistake you only make once!

Any problem obtaining insurance for a 25 ft boat ? ( for the Bahamas leg of your trip ) I remember any R25 owner telling me he had trouble , a few years back at the North Channel Rendezvous .
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
No , We didn’t have trouble finding insurance we just have to pay more than we want to.

Hi what bracket did you use to mount your dingy outboard to the transom? I have an r25OB and looking to do the same thing!

Sorry if I missed it but what was your average speed going through these rough water?
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
I would say my average speed is between six and 7 knots. I find if I go any faster than 6 kn I take too much spray over the bow.

How are those Dual speakers compared to the old fusion ones?
@expeditionseanest

By speakers you mean in the Ranger Tug? If so , we have only ever had this model of Ranger Tug. The speakers work really well.

Has anyone tried the Cutwater C24 boat , I think it’s made by the same company as Ranger Tugs ? Thanks 🙏
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest 22 дня назад
Cutwater & Ranger Tug is made by fluid motion. There is more space in the Ranger R25.But the Cutwater has other benefits. I would recommend you visit a Cutwater dealer. They will explain it better than me.

links for the spears and fishing gear?
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
Hello John, most all of the gear was purchased in Miami at a variety of dive shops or at a great dive shop in Marathon , Florida . Formula Freediving.formulafreediving.com/ . The staff is very knowledgeable and the quality of gear is good. They are not pushy . Fishing gear is from all over but a good start may be a combination of Bass Pro Shops and Tackle Centre of IslaMorada in the Keys tacklecenter.com. The second is a smaller shop with lots of local knowledge. Hope that helps .
