Worst Places You Can Rent 

Yeah,I've had many things in my life go wrong ,but always been grateful for the struggles still,even though they were so hard too deal with,at the time ..it made a better and stronger human being!

I remember when I was living on my own at 19 years old, I lived in a washroom that I rented. Once I was so hungry and I had no food in the house that I started eating a jar of Tums antacids that were sweet. This were hard times let me tell you. But I made it out of there and now have my own home and family. Patience is a virtue 🙏

Same here. I thought I was poor and then I took a train ride through the country. America has a lot of shit holes but traveling on the Texas/Mexico border was LITTERED with extreme poverty. People were living next door to oil refineries in the US but in Mexico, everyone was living in huts without water, electricity or roads. I never felt poor again.

Went homeless/transient for 8 years in the u.s.a. Now I'm in a sweet studio in Brooklyn, NY. I know the feeling though

Full bathroom you mention? That isn't a requirement?

@@Jake-li7ih full bathroom means it has a tub, toilet, sink, and closet in my state. Most places list bathroom but unless it has all of the previous things. If so then it can be listed as a full bathroom. My cousin has a toilet and sink in one room then a shower downstairs because our town has old buildings. I mean before the town had plumbing old. That means showers and tubs were in basements near the water pumps. Toilets were outhouses. That is why having it all in one location is listed as "full bathroom".

All I got to say is your lucky if The landlord checked the wiring, mine didn't and 2 days ago there was an electrical fire while my stem mom and dad were at the house with our 3 dachshunds. Thankfully my dad knows a little wiring and knows where the box was so the fire was put out quickly.

It should be illegal for the gov to charge exorbitant amounts of property tax to home owners... that's why rents are so high

My first "apartment " was just off pioneer and advertised a view of the the water ha! My only view was literally a brick wall if I stuck my head out and really stretched and squinted you could maybe make out a little blue of the sound. It was called a studio and basically was a room the size of a large closet with a half bathroom the size of a broom closet. The kitchen was just part of the room sectioned off by a counter top and had little more than room for a mini fridge and microwave. My rent was nearly 1200! This was back in 2003 and that would be a welcome price these days. Now everyone living in western Washington unfortunate enough to rent is looking at that price minimum and I'm talking for the suburbs, federal way, Renton, Tacoma. Don't even get me started on how much rent will run you inside the city limits.

@@scottjohnson378 Renting outside Seattle you spend a lot of time and money commuting and in some suburbs bus service at night shuts down. Like at 8 pm!

@@3frenchhens818 tell me about it before COVID Walmarts, for example were almost all 24 hours now 11 is as late as you'll find one open. Now I don't know if COVID is the only reason for this or if the timing is just coincidental, or a bit of both but it doesn't seem like they have any future plans of going back to their old hours which for someone like me is very disappointing, I'm a night person always have been and I'm much more comfortable being in smaller crowds. And besides casinos gas stations and WinCo nowhere else around here is 24 hours. Your right it is a bit strange for such large, heavily populated cities to collectively turn their lights off after dark similar to the way a small town middle of the country type place where the population is less than an eighth of one of these cities where it makes sense to shut down since no one is out after a certain time but here your talking tens of thousands of people work nights or just are out or up at night and I think the end result will sadly be that a lot more people are going to become gamblers because that's the only place anyone can go any time and that undoubtedly will lead to so many addictions and all that comes with it. I have first hand experience with this as my mom has since my step father passed away 4 years ago , she has slowly begun to gamble more and more to where she used to go maybe twice a year is now stopping in 3 to 4 days a week, this started for her purely out of boredom. and it right now has me wondering just how many others there possibly could be who are falling into the same trap. I've been homeless and currently live a steps away from being homeless all I have to do is miss a paycheck really, but I'd have sold my soul or a kidney to live in any of these versus the streets of Las Vegas or anywhere really. As a fellow German I can tell you that some "apartments" come pretty close, especially in the bathroom department. In Munich I had to climb over a toilet to actually get to the shower, while the bath itself prevented you from really even sitting down or just turning around. I am almost certain that you can find similar "abodes" if you just look in the right places. In any case, almost all apartments are horrendeously overpriced at least -.-

True , but landlords don't have to be slums either . I have had my share of bad places to live . Need stricter laws , and the rent price needs to be less .

The sad thing abaut this horror apartements is that this hell holes are not allways that cheap - but with no better optipns you have to take it + the psychopathic landlotd when you are poor. Total agree - we have to do what we have to do.

Yea some of these are definitely a step up than the backseat of my car. Did that for a year. On my own since 15. Not fun. If you have parents and your basic needs met you have no idea how blessed you are.

Honestly if I didn't pay my first house off when I was 20 that would sound like a good idea if it weren't more expensive than. Owning but with only obligation of a tax bill of 397 a year wich equals 33 a month, it is just cheaper for me to own a 3 bedroom 850 sf house with fenced in yard. Especially when I was collecting 700 a month in rent lol

My buddy bought the same type of house for $7,500. The house next to his dads went up for sale because the owner went to prison for murder. I had to help him clean the hour out. It was a perfectly fine house. Just needed new water heater. The house however was stacked to the ceiling in every room with gun magazines lol no lie. My other buddy bought another identical house with brand new roof, water heater, AC furnace, 3 bedroom, bar in the basement. For 15k. All the houses I mentioned are not in bad neighbors but not good neighborhoods at the same time

My sister is currently living in an nonexpencive place in iowa, and for her apartment, she's paying 1000 a month for rent. But that Includes electricity, and used to include water.

Finally, someone called out the fact that he forgot to add those “coffin homes” in this video. I’ve seen multiple images in google and watched a handful of short documentary videos about those tiny apartments in hong kong. Many people live in metal cage stacked in top of each other and some live in wooden compartments in walls. There are others living in tiny subdivided flats made illegally from large rooms, which only fit a bunk bed and a small table; they also share a small kitchen and a toilet (sometimes two toilets). What’s worse is that these apartments are rather expensive for their size, like a couple hundred dollars per month in those small apartments. Probably worse than those in new york I’m not a hong kong resident but I just know this from the media I watch or read. _edit: i added a hefty amount of extra info_

Lol it's even worse down here on the Jersey Shore. Folks are charging $1500 a month for rooms sometimes.

It is not the landlords. It is the politicians printing more and then more dollars making money you already have worth less than the day before and slowly your wage becomes insufficient.
