Historian here! Specialized in the American Presidency and the First World War from the U.S. perspective- It is a commonly-accepted notion within our field that historians often have egos as big as their opinions, and huge majority of historians beyond a local level are left-wing and consider themselves liberal. Thus why George Washington is no longer ranked as the greatest President in most rankings, why Democrats such beginning with Wilson and up are often ranked higher than they should be. I would *strongly* advise nobody to pay attention to historical rankings of the Presidency. There's no reason for Trump to not be within at least the top 15.

By the way, I often feel that Franklin Pierce is historically the worst President that we ever had, worse still than Buchanan. I feel that the likes of John Adams, Zachary Taylor, Grant, Garfield, Arthur, and Nixon are severely underrated, underappreciated, misunderstood, maligned, and have an unfair rap. I do think Lincoln is a bit overrated, but not necessarily for the reasons many thing, and my person favorite was TR. But, while I strongly disliked Obama for how he divided our country among other things, I have a feeling, and a fairly certain one, that I will live the rest of my life acknowledging Biden at the bottom. His is the face of corruption. Trump will never be placed above mid-tier by this sicko historians. They can NEVER bring themselves to acknowledge the good he has done.

I do agree Lincoln is a bit overrated, as well as with your list of all the presidents you find as underrated/ under appreciated. Fun Fact about Abraham Lincoln is that Lincoln was Union (United States) first. He said that he would have kept slavery if the South stayed united with the Union. Only after the North was getting its 🍑 kicked by the South, did he cause disruption by freezing slaves. Slaves tended the southern plantations and homesteads. Slaves fought with the Rebels. So...
